Ants Aussie Airports Vol 5 : RAAF Tindal is a military base about 290kms south east of Darwin near the town of Katherine in Australia's Northern Territory. Tindal is a major front-line operational air base and home to No. 75 Squadron Air Combat Group (F/A-18). There is also a civilian apron in the north west corner of the airfield. This scenery contains photoreal ground textures and these are designed to blend in with the payware FTX textures (available from www.fullterrain.com). It is therefore recommended that you have the FTX textures installed if you wish to see this airfield at its best. I have tried to make this airfield as accurate as possible although as Tindal is a military base there aren't a lot of photos available so a lot of the hangars are "educated guesses". Almost all of the models have been custom made with the use of library objects kept to the minimum.

TISX - Henry E. Rohlsen Airport / Christiansted, St. Croix, USVI
This airport update was made with the latest version of ADE (Airport Design Editor) and made for FSX as a replacement for the stock (default) airport. I've made several changes to the airport which are listed below. All these enchancements are as close to the real airport as I can get with stock library objects. I've used satellite images, terminal photos and maps throughout the whole process so building locations are as accurate as possible. Happy landings in the serene United States Virgin Islands!

The 5th version of this Add-On for P3Dv4 approaches the reality with photo-realistic ground textures, accurate buildings, runways, taxiways and the official approaches with waypoints, localizers and glide paths. More than 1200 objects, 60 individual scenery-models, approx. 100 custom ground polygons and lines have been created. One big problem was to adopt the terrain mesh to fit the new airport. The actual state of January 2019 has been adapted to the scenery. Photorealistic ground textures have been reworked. High resolution textures you find at the aprons and the vehicle parking areas at the General Aviation and Business Terminals. Accurate Night Lighting and winter textures have been added. All buildings, Hangars and a lot of objects have been designed individually (no library objects). Even the taxiway and apron markings are hand-made. | USCG Air Station Kodiak Alaska PADQ Scenery Package with AI Aircraft |

Thanks to Airport Design Editor(ADE), Military AI Works (MAIW) scenery and aircraft, along with AI Flight Planner3 (AIFP3), I did my best to re-create USCG Air Station Kodiak for FSX. Creating this airport scenery was my first BIG (for me) project in ADE, but thanks to MAIW and their Global Scenery Library Objects, I think I've succeed in re-creating the airbase. You'll need to go to MAIW's website and download the "Global Scenery" package for any of this to work for you, so I've copied that website link below (in STEP 1). I also painted Kodiak markings onto all the MAIW AI Aircraft for added realism.
And just for fun, I placed a USCG Cutter and a "fishing boat in distress" (complete with green smoke) out in the harbor as a "Practice Recue Scenario". The Cutter has a "hard deck" to land on and I've also illuminated both it and the Fishing boat for DUSK and NIGHT practice.

SkyHigh Audio Simulations is proud to present what is quite possibly the most realistic sounding Pratt & Whitney JT3D-7 Turbofan sound pack available! This sound pack is designed to work with Historic Jetliners Group's Douglas DC-8-63 and Boeing 707-320C models. There are two versions of this sound pack, one interior point of view from the cockpit, and the other being the passenger cabin POV in front of the engines. This sound pack includes many unique and realistic features, including realistic 3D sound cones giving a very realistic exterior sound experience, especially in the fly-by view mode. Also using the cone technology, realistic distant taxi howling and distant rumbling sounds are included. The plane could be heard loud and clear from up to 2km away in tower view! Realistic start up sounds featuring external air cart compressor howling noises are included. Realistic interior ambience noises such as the inverter noise and touchdown, flaps, gear sound with chime, and more are featured in this sound pack. SkyHigh Audio Simulations is proud to present our new FSX Concorde Sound Package! This add-on will hopefully bring Concorde back to life since the real thing no longer flies and I do not think an Olympus 593 turbojet engine has run since 2003. So to achieve this goal, I have worked to the bone to fine tune this sound and add as many features as possible. The main new feature of this sound is XML Gauge Sound technology, never seen before in a SkyHigh sound release, or on any sound package release for that matter. The XML gauge sounds include a brake sound, sonic boom sound effect, as well as a switch panel that plays various cabin announcements. 3D Sound Cone Technology has of course, been extensively used in this release, as with our other FSX sound releases. You can even hear the ground trembling from the noise when Concorde flies by. I could go for days explaining the features of these sounds but I'd like for you to hear them for yourself. So please give this download a go if you want to bring Concorde back to life with a very realistic sounding Concorde sound package for FSX! This folder contains a repaint for the MIlviz P-38L, representing A55-1 of the RAAF, 1943. In order to meet an urgent RAAF requirement for photographic reconnaissance, three P-38Es were transferred from the USAAF for service with No 1 PRU. The first Lightning, A55-1, depicted here, was received on August 31 1942, and operated successfully until it was written-off in a landing accident on August 2 1944 at Coomallie Strip. The second aircraft, A55-2 had a less spectacular career and operated only between 4 Sep 42 and 18 Dec 42, and was phased out of service on the latter date. The third Lightning, A55-3 was received from the USAAF at Eagle Farm on February 27 1943 and operated throughout the year until it was written-off in a wheels-up landing on December 10 1943.
The aircraft of this repaint, A55-1 was originally F-4-1-LO serial 41-2158. I have found pictures of it in camouflage paint as well as in bare metal, and it is the latter that I have depicted. It shows 59 mission markings on the picture taken at Coomalie Creek, which I assume was late in its career with the RAAF.
Although the original was a P-38E/F-4 and the Milviz model is a P-38L, I thought people would still like this repaint. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Milviz.

This folder contains a repaint for the Douglas C-54 / DC-4 by Flight Replicas. It shows Douglas DC-4 VH-EDM of Qantas Empire Airways. This aircraft was built new for Western Airlines and entered onto the United States Aircraft Register as NC10203 - April 1946
It was sold to Australian National Airways in 1947 and entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-ANG. The aircraft was named 'Palana' (star).
It was sold to British Commonwealth Pacific Airlines in 1948 and reregistered as VH-BPD and renamed 'Discovery'. It was sold to Qantas Empire Airways in 1949, reregistered VH-EBM and renamed 'Philippine Trader'. It operated the inaugural Sydney - Darwin - Labuan - Hong Kong service as EM202 in June 1949
It was chartered by T.E.A.L. to operate the Melbourne - Christchurch (Harwood) - Melbourne service - June 29, 1951.
The aircraft suffered major nose damage whilst landing at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on November 08, 1951, when the nose wheel collapsed during the landing roll, but it was repaired and returned to service.
It was sold to Zantop Air Transport Inc, Detroit, becoming N600Z in November 1959. It then went to Trans Mediterranean Airways of Lebanon in 1962 as OD-AEC. It crashed into the sea off Brindisi, Italy shortly after take-off on July 09, 1962, killing all six people on board. This package contains 130 new AI ships and AI ship traffic routes for the North Sea, the Norwegian coast and the sea around the Arabian Peninsula and a few routes for the Mediterranean Sea.
The new ship models include 40 ferries, 4 cruise ships, different types of fishing vessels, Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), Offshore Subsea Construction Vessels (OSCV), and shuttle tankers from off shore oil industry, a pirate mother ship, pirate attack boats, a Greenpeace ship, a heavy lift ship, a couple of frigates, a coast guard ship, container ships, bulk carriers, a number of small coasters, and much more. Around 40 ships have landable helicopter platforms - all marked with an H. Most ships will have simple animations and custom wake, smoke and light effects.
Ships visits among other places Le Havre, Plymouth, Jersey, Hull, Aberdeen, Oslo, Kristiansand, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim, Bodo, Narvik, Tromso, Hammerfest, Murmansk, Mallorca, Rome, Neaples, Heraklion, Port Said, Suez, Jeddah, Djibouti, Salalah, Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Ras Tanura, Kuwait, Basra, Bandar Imam, Mogadishu, Karachi, and Mumbai.
In order to get full benefit of this package you must first download and install 63 AI Ships and AI Ship Traffic for Europe and South America, 75 AI Ships and AI Ship Traffic, and the corresponding patch. With that installed you will have a total of 268 ships on shipping routes across the globe.

| Ulukhaktok (Holman) CYHI in the Northwest Territories, Canada |

Ulukhaktok (Holman) is an airfield on the west side of Victoria Island, off the northern coast of Canada. It is 320 miles west of Cambridge Bay (and you should download and install the recent post of CYCB by Sid and Pete, as I use it for the AI included in this post) and around 400 miles east of Inuvik (my post of a few months ago). It has been officially called Ulukhaktok since 2006, and before that it's name was Holman.
The village of Ulukhaktok has been placed around the bay and is approximately the right shape; it houses some 460 people who used to rely solely on hunting and fishing. The village is close to 71 degrees north, and there are only four months of the year when the average high is above zero centigrade. The photograph with snow (and of course a frozen sea) is typical; for the frozen sea download my Frozen Rivers & Lakes post which will provide this. The buildings on the field have been modelled specifically for this scenery, and as in real life there is only JetA available. The AI visiting aircraft are an Aklak Air DC3 (based in Inuvik and operated by Kenn Borek Air) and a Canadian North Dash 8-100. Note that the runways are signed as "true" headings instead of magnetic; in the Canadian Northern Domestic Airspace all headings are given as true. Unfortunately FS9 doesn't accommodate this in ATC.
