Kopaida Airfield, Greece Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
"Kopaida" airfield is a grass private strip, 105km NW of Athens located in the Kopaida drained lake plains between the towns of Aliartos, Kastro and Orchomenos and west of Yliki lake. It is a pure general aviation field and a hub of activity for numerous sport planes, gliders and motor gliders. The field includes a small tower and canteen and several owners of GA aircraft house them in the roomy hangar and also keep a mobile home or RV in the premises. The scenery includes a region and landclass bgl that will force a large area of the Kopaida plains around the airport to display US field textures. This was done because the US fields textures are rectangular and aligned N-E and W-E, in a similar way as the actual fields around the airport. A small photo background is used for the airfield itself. The photo background includes seasonal variations with slight colour variances as well as some autogen trees and shrubs. Custom GA traffic is also included. There is one trike doing circuits and TnGs and a Turbo Porter flying the circuit, simulating a skydiving sortie. The Turbo Porter used is the great freeware one created by Tim (Piglet) Conrad. I have also included a repaint for the F-GHVH, the Porter used by the GFFC, which sports a flashy "Alien" graffiti scheme.

*For FSX SP2 / Acceleration / P3D v1.00*

ZGGG Guangzhou Baiyun Int'l Airport 2017 Download

File Description:
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (ZGGG) is the major airport of Guangzhou, China. Located in Guangzhou's Baiyun District, it opened on August 5, 2004, but has gone through major changes since FSX was created. The default version only has one terminal and two runways and is slightly out of place from the actual location. I placed the airport in its real location based upon the charted latitude and longitude of the airport reference point. Guangzhou Baiyun Int'l Airport now has three runways. The third runway opened in February 2015. The centerpiece is the new Terminal 2, faithfully rendered here as much as possible. The terminal footprint and gates are accurate. The 3D terminal itself is a simple Sketchup project with generic textures (including night textures). The scenery converted and placed using MCX's amazing Convert and Place Wizard. I added the FBO ramp and the FEDEX Cargo Ramp Aprons and added some hangars to both locations, all default FSX buildings, so no additional library downloads are required. The new runway (now called 02R/20L) was added with Airport Design Editor. The old runway 02R/20L was renamed to the current runway 02L/20R and the old runway 02L/20R was renamed to the current runway 01/19. All taxiways are accurately drawn and designated with taxisigns using the latest AIRAC 1712 Jeppesen chart for ZGGG. All six ILS approaches are rendered as well as ADE would let me.

GB-0112 - RAF Bassingbourn - Cambridgeshire, England Download

File Description:
RAF Bassingbourn is a former Royal Air Force station located in Cambridgeshire approximately 3 mi (5 km) north of Royston, Hertfordshire and 11 mi (18 km) south west of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. RAF Bassingbourn was constructed by John Laing & Son between 1937 and 1939 in the parishes of Wendy and Bassingbourn immediately to the west of the A14 (now the A1198) road. The site selected was low ground between several tributaries of the River Cam. The area had been long cleared of forest and tended to be swampy and unstable, and because the boggy ground produced a persistent mist over the large meadow the site was considered ideal for airfield camouflage. During the Second World War it served first as an RAF station and then as a bomber airfield of the Eighth Air Force, of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). It remains the home of the Tower Museum Bassingbourn. From 19 August 1942 to 25 June 1945, Bassingbourn served as headquarters for the 1st Combat Bombardment Wing of the 1st Bomb Division. It was assigned USAAF designation Station 121. The RAF resumed occupation of Bassingbourn on 26 June 1945, the airfield was officially returned on 10 July 1945. The station became one of the main airfields for long-range transport aircraft. In 1948 and 1949 Avro York, Avro Lancaster and Douglas Dakota aircraft from the base took part in the Berlin Airlift, a massive operation transporting essential commodities to the beleaguered city. In February 1952, RAF Bassingbourn received its first allocation of English Electric Canberra bombers and became the first jet bomber operational conversion unit (OCU) in the world. Canberras operated from Bassingbourn for 17 years and one of the aircraft is on static display in the Barracks. From 1963 to 1969 the Joint School of Photographic Interpretation was also located there. On 29 August 1969, the last RAF Commanding Officer, Sqn Ldr A.M. McGregor MBE, turned over the station to the British Army as Bassingbourn Barracks. The barracks were established, on the site of the former RAF Bassingbourn airfield, in January 1970, as the new Depot for the Queen's Division. The depot was responsible for training recruits undergoing their 19-week basic training before joining a regular battalion; in 1993 the Barracks were re-designated the home of the "Army Training Regiment, Bassingbourn" and remained as such for nearly 20 years. Bassingbourn Barracks closed as an army training location in August 2012. The site was reopened for training Libyan soldiers in 2014 but closed down the same year. Since approximately 1970 the site has retained its RAF links by being the home of 2484 (Bassingbourn) Squadron Air Training Corps.

FSX Zip Utility Download

File Description:
FSX Zip is a useful tool for unpacking Zip files downloaded from FS file libraries without the need for an existing 3rd-party Zip application, but the big handy feature is that it has a tree display of the Zip folder structure giving you a clear view of how the files will unpack and into which location. This folder layout display is also be useful for developers creating Zips to distribute their own work and aids in checking that no files are missing from the archive. It is "FSX aware" and can automatically detect the FSX folder location. Due to this feature it has several handy folder location presets making it quick and easy to install aircraft, scenery and other add-ons which come in Zip files that include folder path information. Many Zip files downloaded from FS libraries have a specific folder structure which the author has included and is required so all files go into their correct locations, and with this utility generally all you will need to do is: 1) Drag and Drop the Zip file onto the "Extract Zip" page, 2) Select the "Extract & Preserve Folder Structure" option, 3) Check the "Extract to Specific FSX Folder" option, 4) Select the preset folder location from the drop-down box and 5) Click the "UnZip" button. It has a small file size when zipped (around 940 KB) and can be freely distributed by freeware/commercial developers to help users install their files. The Create Zip tab also supports Zip Comments for adding any other information such as copyright notices.

Amsterdam Schiphol - EHAM Netherlands Package Download

File Description:
This Airport package is being released in conjunction with the release of the new ADE Design Utility (Airport Design Editor) to illustrate the power and design capabilities of both the current Home Version and the future Pro Version. The main airport in my ADE BGL is the Amsterdam Schiphol EHAM Airport. I also included into the single Airport Facility data bgl 5 additional airports which are Eindhoven AB (EHEH), Groningen Eelde (EHGG), Lelystad (EHLE), Maastricht-Aache (EHBK) and Rotterdam (EHRD) for you to explore. Major key changes are all 3 parallel runways are open with restrictions and are ATC controlled Arrival runways for both the User and AI Plane Traffic. Additional runways are also working simultaneously but some runways are closed for Arrival and/or Departure as per the ATC Preferential Runway System. All Gates and Parking Spots have been updated so AI Airline Planes, Maintenance, Cargo, Commuter, and Corporate GA park in the correct places. New Approach code including the 3 STAR's, Night RNAV's and all current Transitions have been rewitten and coded properly as seen in the GPS receiver per current Jeppesen Charts. Many Scenery features have also been added at each of the Airports which also includes the new H Terminal at EHAM. AI Planes fly the true RWY 24 VORDME curved approach from the PAM VOR and RWY 04/22 is a restricted runway that FSX ATC will only vector AI/User Planes that weigh less then 74000lbs EW to this active runway. Read the included Whats New Readme txt file for all the added enhancements.

Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress #43-97976 "A Bit o' Lace" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the accu-sim version of the A2A B-17G Flying Fortress. It represents #42-97976 "A Bit o' Lace", which was assigned to the 709th BS /447th BG. The nose art consisted of a cartoon by Milton Caniff. The co-pilot was Lt. John Bauman, a fraternity brother of Milton Caniff. He sent Caniff a detailed idea of the proposed artwork and the sketch was returned with Caniff's annotation: "A Bit-O-Lace for Lt. John H. Bauman, and the rest of the gang, with my best wishes - Milton Caniff NY, Oct. 1944". Nicholas Fingelly, an artist attached to the 709th BS, carried out the work and completed the painting in about six hours and gave Milton Caniff full credit for his his character. Her first crew flew 35 missions over Europe with no injuries, although returning with a good many holes, at times. The closest call was when a piece of shrapnel came up through Navigator's table and "Ike" Eisenhart's arms, but missed him. A surprise souvenir for Ike, which he still has. She flew more missions with different crews, until the april 4, 1945 flight. From the navigator, John Kirkwood: "Right over Kiel, and seconds before the bomb release, I heard the co-pilot say that "This airplane feels funny." Seconds later the tail gunner, who had regained his power of speech, blurted out something to the effect that part of "The tail was gone." A flak shell had gone right through the left horizontal tail, leaving only a partial surface, and completely removing the left elevator. We dropped out of the formation, and tried to drop the bombs, but the electrical system failed. We flew north a minute or so, the plane now in the hands of the pilot. The pilot did not want to drop over Denmark, so we turned out over sea, and dropped via screwdriver. Actually, we were over Schleswig-Holstein, according to my position, but it was close, and Tom did not want to chance killing danes. We flew on, at a reduced speed, far out to sea on a west-south-west course with occasional ETA's to the pilot. Several fighters joined us, and finally we got back to the base, and the runway was cleared for us. A decision had to be made by the pilot: To jump or ride her in.. Tom decided that he could land the plane, so we all congregated to the radio room, and that was that. I might add that none of us had any desire to jump. Most of the photos of 976 were taken after repairs, hence the dark colored rudder and left elevator. As you know, the color prior to the damage was silver. 976 flew one or two missions after that, but I never saw her again, other than in a color photo of the moth-balled fleet in Arizona." Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the repaint kit by A2A.

"Janet Airways" Boeing 737-600 BBJ-ER Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
A highly classified small fleet of passenger aircraft known as "Janet" is operated for the United States Air Force to transport military and contractor employees. It mainly serves the Nevada National Security Site (most notably Area 51 (AR51) and Tonopah Test Range (TNX), from their terminal at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport (KLAS). The planes are also used to fly to/from Air Force Plant 42 (KPMD), Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (KNID), Hill Air Force Base (KHIF), and Edwards Air Force Base (KEDW). I encourage you to locate, download, and install the AFCAD files or scenery add-ons associated to these airports from any source you desire, but make sure they are designed for FSX. The fleet's "Janet" call sign, from which its de facto name comes, is said to stand for "Just Another Non-Existent Terminal", or more likely "Joint Air Network". Everything is realistic in this model, now, and most simmers know how inaccurate the original FSX 737-800 was. However, this aircraft simulates the accuracy of a 737-600 BBJ-ER, if there ever was one built. I modified everything to fit that aspect, except for the visual model. The engine characteristics are correct as well as all weight/balance and MOI. I even fixed the wheels to be accurate in base, track and pressure size. Everything I've done here is for educational purposes without any expectation of any monetary gain, and offered publicly for free. Read the Readme.txt file for installation and details. All persons involved with this and the original design are credited, unless they are unknown and have offered no credit details. FSDbBuild V1.0.2 for FStarToFS2K (Fully functional Release with Installer) Download

File Description:
FSDbBuild is a Supplement for FStarToFS2K, it provides the possibility to build or update the Airport/Runway Database as used in FStarToFS2K. This Database is required because the from Jeppesen FliteStar/FliteMap exported Flight plans lack some important information as provided by FliteStar/FliteMap. The exported Flight plans don't provide the Information for the Departure Runway, which is a Requirement in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000/2002/2004/FSX and Lockheed Martin Prepar3D.

In this current Version of the Utility, only the old plain Text-type Airport/Runway Data file - a Relict from Erni Alston's FSBuild 1.3.9 around the Year 2000 or even older - will be created, accompanied by a simple Indexing Mechanism Index file to speed-up the Search. A future Release will create a SQLite Database, which will be implemented also in FStarToFS2K V1.2.0 which will be released within the coming Weeks or Month. In Fact, this Airport/Runway Data file could also be used by Erni Alston's FSBuild, if there are any Users still around of this Flight Planning Software from 2000.

This program evolved from the necessity, that the with FStarToFS2K Program Package supplied Airport/Runway Data file was totally outdated, dating back to 2000 or even older! This shortcoming will now be eliminated, the User has now the possibility to build the Information according to the Data contained in his installed Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000/2002/2004/FSX or Lockheed Martin Prepar3D according the Scenery Configuration. For Installation and other Information consult the FSDbBuild Readme.txt file in the Zip-file. Several Issues have been discovered and (hopefully) fixed. The detection of any Flight Simulator (MS FS 2002/2004/FSX or LM P3D V1.x) works now also correctly, also on 64bit machines. If you have the previous Versions of FSDbBuild (V1.0.0 & V1.0.1) installed, you should install now V1.0.2. Please note, this Utility is not only for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it also supports Lockheed Martins Prepar3D V1.x!
