Ford Project - Stag Lane Aerodrome - home of de Havilland's first factory Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Ford-de-Havilland is a scenery pack created by the Ford Project Team that contains a historical rendition of the Stag Lane Aerodrome.

Stag Lane Aerodrome was the home of the first de Havilland Aircraft Manufacturer's factories located at Stag Lane, Edgware, London, UK. Stag Lane became the main base of The de Havilland Aircraft Company Limited in 1920. Former wartime aircraft were refurbished in the early years, and the company designed and built large numbers of aircraft at Stag Lane in the 1920s and early 1930s.

Created by the Ford Project Team to support their recently released large suite of liveries for the Milton Shupe DH80 aircraft. This package is just one of nearly 30 other scenery packs available for FREE at the Ford Tri-Motor site - http://www.ford-tri-motor.net

Talkeetna Village AK44 in Alaska, home of Don Sheldon's Talkeetna Air Service Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Talkeetna is around 75 miles north of Anchorage in Alaska on the east shore of the Susitna River. The town is where Don Sheldon got off the train in 1938, and where, ten years later, he started Talkeetna Air Services. There are two airfields in Talkeetna, PATK with its long asphalt runway and Talkeetna Village AK44 in the middle of the town. This is AK44; the default FS version with Ultimate Terrain installed had the runway half in the river, but there is still space for the 900 feet of runway that is described in the book "Wager With The Wind" that tells Don's story. The result is a step back in time to 1973, when the second hangar was built. If you also want to install PATK do a search. I have partially populated the village with cabins, and UT is probably required for the river to be there; I haven't tested this without it.

Christchurch, UK circa 1944 Download

File Description:
Christchurch began its existance in 1926 when a field known as Burrys field near Mudeford, Christchurch UK was used for pleasure flights. In 1935 airfield became known as Bournemouth Airport. Christchurch Airfield was therefore the original Bournemouth Airport. In the early March of 1944, the USAAF arrived as the 509th, 510th and 511th Fighter Squadrons of the 405th Fighter Group. The squadrons flew P47 aircraft on raids over occupied France. All the 405th units left for airfields in occupied France shortly after D-Day. Production of Mosquitos, Horsa Gliders and the Oxford was undertaken here during war time and post war the Airspeed Ambassador and the DH Sea Vixen. Hurn is now "Bournemouth Airport". Christchurch was closed in 1964 and after some years the site developed for housing. Regretably there is no Memorial to the airmen who flew from here or any reminder of their sacrifice. Many people I have met who live on what was the airfield have no idea that it ever existed!

PACD - Cold Bay - Aleutian Islands, Alaska, USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Cold Bay is in the eastern third of the Aleutian chain of islands in Alaska, around 175 miles east of Dutch Harbor. The small town has a population of just over 100 and is in existance solely because of the airport with its long runways, one just over 6,000 feet and the other over 10,000 feet and with an ILS. Goods are flown here for local redistribution. The airport was originally built to this size for use in WW2 and there are still quonset huts from this time visible in the area, though the majority of the rough-and-ready housing has now been cleared away. There are scheduled flights by Grant Aviation to neighbouring local airfields and flights to and from Anchorage by Peninsula Air (included in the AI posted with Adak) and Grant Aviation have space attached to their hangar that serves as a terminal. The Coastguard also make use of Cold Bay.

Warnervale, NSW, Australia Download

File Description:
This version is a major update of this fine little airport with the permission of Greg Archer, the original author. Upgrades include the Terminal building, Booking office, some hangars, lights and trees all featuring photo real textures. An AFCAD file and AI traffic are now included. Warnervale NSW, is a small airfield not included in FS2002 or 2004. It is however a busy little field run by the Central Coast Aero Club and incorporates the Drop Zone Skydiving Centre, as well as Joy Flights over the Beautiful Central Coast of NSW. The field is very close to Aeropelican Airport home of Aeropelican Airways which has regular services to Sydney Kingsford Smith International using Twin Otters. in fact you can see Aeropelican Airstrip 8NM to the north once you take off from Warnervale. You can download Aeropelican from this site (aero2004.zip). Both airfields complement each other, just follow the sail boats north. Textures required. Airport 2.6, VOD, Nova and Nova Gold.

Ontario Small Fields in Canada: #04 Stoney Point (Le Cunff) CRML V1 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the fourth in a series of small airfields in southern Ontario, Canada. It is Stoney Point (Le Cunff) CRML, a field near a small town (Stoney Point) close to Lake St Clair. The airfield has a grass runway of 2,250 feet, aligned 18/36; with trees around the house gardens between road and runway the south threshold is displaced by 250 feet. The markers approximately show the touchdown point north of the runway end. Le Cunff is the family name of the owners, included to differentiate between this and another Stoney Point field, CRJ2. I found the default FS9 airfield at the correct elevation of 625 feet, but sitting on a plateau, despite my Genesis Mesh. This looked so unreal that I have revised this to an incorrect lower elevation of 580. So if you find the airfield sitting in a hole in your installation you now know the reason. Let me know, with a screenshot please.

Chilanko Lodge CBX3 in British Columbia Canada version 2 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a revised post of Chilanko Lodge, which is an airstrip that serves the Lodge of the same name on the beach of One Eye Lake. The lake is close to the eastern side of the Coastal Range, 30 miles south of Nimpo Lake and 30 miles west of Puntzi Mountain, both previous posts. There is also a dock for float planes. The runway is 2,900 feet of gravel aligned 10-28, unlit, and at 2,972 feet above sea level. I remade this scenery as I was not very satisfied with the surrounding terrain, and then there was a reported terrain level problem. It is now better than the first time around, in my opinion anyway. I have posted it as version 2 of Chilanko Lodge CBX3, but I suggest that you add this to your "BC airfields" folder as previously suggested. Up to you. If you find a defect, email me.

EGVL - RAF Little Rissington - Gloucestershire, England Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Representative scenery of RAF Little Rissington in Gloucestershire.

RAF Little Rissington (ICAO: EGVL) is an RAF aerodrome and former RAF station in Gloucestershire, England. It was once home to the Central Flying School, the Vintage Pair and the Red Arrows.

Built during the 1930s, the station was opened in 1938 and closed in 1994. The married-quarters and main technical site were sold in 1996 (the former becoming the village of Upper Rissington), but the aerodrome has been retained by the Ministry of Defence and remains active along with the southern technical sites, under the operational control of No.2 Flying Training School at RAFC Cranwell.

It is now home to 637 Volunteer Gliding Squadron as the primary military unit, who provide elementary flying training for Combined Cadet Force and Air Training Corps cadets. The airfield is also used by the forces as a relief landing ground, training area and parachute dropping area. In previous years, the Royal Air Force estate has been used as a film set, including The Avengers, part of the ice chase in Die Another Day, and the Thunderbirds film.

This scenery has been made using various scenery libraries, mainly from MAIW. Full listing in the docs.

KCMH - Port Columbus International - Columbus, Ohio, USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Port Columbus International Airport in Columbus, Ohio, is a gem of an airport for aviation buffs. It first opened in 1929 at a site chosen by Chales Lindbergh, as part of an air-rail route from New York to Los Angeles. The original terminal building has been restored and is now used for office space. Two of the original three hangers are still in use (I included the third hanger in the scenery). The six hanger Lane Aviation FBO was added in 1935 and has been in operation these 78 years. In 1959 the modern terminal was first built, with additions and renovations to follow. Netjets opened their facilities in 2001. With the exception of the runways, this version of KCMH was built entirely from scratch. This is the first large airport I've done in which all buildings on the field (except for the control tower) are custom made and partly or fully photo textured. I've also made more use of ground photo textures. Many hours went into the creation of Port Columbus International Airport for FS9. I hope you enjoy it. My thanks to Wil Morgan of FRAME-RATE-FRIENDLY Studio (WWW.FRFSTUDIO.NET) for the AI aircraft parking assignments and general testing. The vintage TWA textures for the DC3's are by Dale De Luca.

RAF Greenham Common Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FS2004 scenery for RAF Greenham Common by Brian Clarke. The scenery uses objects from various scenery libraries, listed in the readme. I have also included some flightplans for C-130's, C-5's and C-141's to fly in and out of the base. These will also require separate downloads. RAF Greenham Common is a former Royal Air Force station in Berkshire, England. The airfield is located to the south-east of Newbury, Berkshire, about 50 miles (80 km) west of London. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War and the United States Air Force during the Cold War. After the Cold War ended, it was closed in 1993. The airfield was also known for the Greenham Common Women's Peace Camp held outside its gates in the 1980s. In 1997 Greenham Common was designated as public parkland.
