Hat Island CWHI in Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This was a DEW line I Station on Hat Island; the island is around 4 miles square and just under 50 miles southeast of Jenny Lind Island. The station was closed in 1963 and has now been totally dismantled and removed, a fairly easy task given the size. The runway is still there and is a shade over 3,000 feet of gravel 100' wide. There are no lights, signage, or windsock. A North Warning System station was built in 1991 on the site of the I Station, just north of the runway. Most of these DEW line stations are not particularly impressive or even interesting. However, you can bet that any pilot flying regularly in the north along the coast knows where all these runways are, in case one of them suddenly becomes his favourite in the whole world just after the sudden silence.

BAe Dunsfold Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Opened as a fighter station for the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War 2, Dunsfold was eventually taken over by Hawker aircraft for developement of the Hunter aircraft. It also provided refurbishment for F-86 Sabres, Sea Hawks and Sea Furies. In 1960, it began developement and testing of the P.1127 - the prototype that led to the Harrier.
It was here that Harrier and Hawk aircraft were finally put together from parts that came from all over the country. Hawk final assembly moved to Warton in 1988, and the final Sea Harrier construction ended in 1998. BAe Systems sold the site in 2002, and it is now well-known as the test track for the BBC TV series Top Gear.

The scenery has been constructed using objects mainly from MAIW sceneries, which will need to be installed in order to gain the full visual experience.

Diavik Diamond Mine CDK2 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Diavik Diamond Mine is located about 200 miles NE of Yellowknife in Canada's Northwest Territory. It a relatively new facility, having been begun production in 2003. The only means of access are by air or ice road. (If you are a James Bondian super villian plotting world domination, Diavik would be a great place for your secret underground headquarters.) This scenery is completely scratch built. In addition to the airstrip itself, I used Google Earth pics to create a photo ground texture of the adjoining facility. The buildings of the main processing complex are very simply modeled, as is the large open pit mine. This scenery was designed for use with Ultimate Terrain and was not tested in the default scenery. (As far as I can tell, Ulimate Terrain does not affect the area around Diavik, so it should work OK.) It may or may not work in FSX.

KHAF - Half Moon Bay Airport - San Mateo County, California - USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FS2004 Scenery - Half Moon Bay Airport (IATA: HAF, ICAO: KHAF, FAA LID: HAF) is a county-owned public use airport in San Mateo County, California, United States. It is located five nautical miles (9 km) northwest of the central business district of Half Moon Bay, California. The airport is on the Pacific Coast, south of San Francisco. The Half Moon Bay Airport is located approximately 20 miles south of San Francisco. It was constructed by the California State Highway Department for the U.S. Army in 1942 as an auxiliary airfield for Salinas Army Air Base. Following the end of World War II, San Mateo County acquired the airport from the Navy in 1947. The airport has served a variety of roles over the years and is currently an important business, transportation and emergency service asset to the community. For your flying pleasure by John B. Loney, Jr.

Petaluma , California (O69) Scenery Download

File Description:
This is a scenery upgrade for Petaluma Airport, California (O69). This is part Five of a series of small airstrip and minor airfield scenery enhancements which are based on real world data from Google Earth. This is a more complex scenery than previous ones. You can see from the Google earth image that a golf course runs alongside the airport (appropriately called the Rabbit Run!). I have tried to include this with a golf course landclass polygon, also the airfield base seems mainly a red soil and this is reflected in the airbase poly. Built using EZ_Scenery, Lee Swordy's AFCAD and SBuilder. You must have rwy12 and EZ scenery libraries installed for the buildings to show. Both libraries of objects are free; EZ Library is available from this URL http://www.abacuspub.com/pub/AbacusEZLibraries.exe rwy12 from Avsim and additional EZ Custom libraries from Avsim. 1962 and 1965 Tokyo Haneda Airport Scenery Download

File Description:
This scenery represents the international airport of Tokyo in the 1960's, Haneda. This package also removes the modern airport of Narita. There are two versions of the airport in this package, 1962 and 1965. Today, Tokyo International Airport (known to locals as Haneda) is consistently among the five busiest airports in the world. In the early 1960s, it was the only international airport serving the economic recovery of the Japanese capital. The entire airport was upgraded extensively between 1961 and 1964 in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics in October of '64. By 1965, a longer runway 15/33, expanded terminal, and improved ground transportation links were all in use at Haneda (these changes are reflected in the '62 and '65 versions). Terminal and ground details by Aaron Seymour, JAMCO/JAL hangars and AFCAD files by Tom Gibson. Thanks to Wolfgang Gersch for the parking area.

VAGO Goa/Dabolim Navy, India Download

File Description:
Googly scenery for Dabolim Navy Airport, Goa - a busy Indian military airport also used for civilian flights which is poorly provided for in Flight Simulator 2004. These scenery files add taxiways, aprons, buildings and other airport features, so that you and your "AI" traffic can land, taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner. Today Goa is a popular tourist destination, but it does not have its own civilian airport. Instead the ever-increasing number of charter flights use the Indian Navy's airport. But they may only land when the Navy's novice pilots are not pretending the runway is a 11,000 foot aircraft carrier deck so civilian flights have to be packed into short periods (before 9 am and 1 pm to 6 pm) and this leads to the small terminal ramp being literally packed with aircraft at times. All kinds of jets from around the world up to Boeing 747s call here, flown by European and Asian operators like Air Deccan, Air India, Air Sahara, Arkefly, Condor Thomas Cook, Go Air, Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Monarch Airlines, Spicejet, SriLankan Airlines, Thomsonfly, Tiger Airways, Transaero and XL Airways along with ATR turboprops on shorter flights with Air Deccan. The Indian Coast Guard has a base here for its aircraft, and the Indian Air Force carry out exercises from time to time with their fighter bombers. The Navy's three-aircraft aerobatic team is also based here. To cope with the increasing traffic, the airport is currently under development and enlargement but details of this are not currently available so this scenery has been created showing the existing arrangements. This, combined with the limitations of Flight Simulator and its parking and taxying arrangements, means that it isn't possible to realistically pack the aircraft all in at busy times. Any overflow of traffic will find itself diverted to the Navy's parking area or even the aircraft museum. However, my observations are that many of the schedules prepared for Flight Simulator do not recognise the limited landing times and the traffic is spread fairly evenly throughout the day, so such overflows should be infrequent. The scenery does not purport to be ultra-accurate. Based on high-detail satellite imagery from Google Earth, the layout is proportionally correct but the added airport features, such as buildings, are built from default Microsoft objects and add-on libraries so will not look like the real thing. You are not obliged to download and install any additional scenery libraries, but to enjoy this scenery in its entirety, you may wish to. It will work fine, with or without.

Frozen Canadian & USA Rivers & Lakes Revision Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This "freezes" all lakes and rivers for winter flying and means they can be landed on with skis or wheels; it is meant for low level flying rather than high level jet flights. This edition is complete in itself and now really covers all of Canada and parts of the USA along the border, including large parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana. It is reversible with an "untick" in the FS scenery library. The revision is the addition of frozen sea in the area of Baffin Island (where I and Sid & Pete have recently posted all of the Baffin Island airfields) as I missed this area last time. Sorry about that. I have spent some time making sure that the sea and the inlets along the coast in the south do not get frozen too, and also some of the lakes that are close to the coast and rarely get cold enough to freeze over. The Great Lakes do not usually totally freeze, but this is an either ON or OFF modification and partial freezing cannot be convincingly simulated, so I went for total ice. Along the north shore I went for the peak of the winter with sea ice all the way to the permanent polar cap; this is not totally realistic as there is usually a partially open lead along the coast, but as with the Great Lakes...... It will work without Ultimate Terrain, but as UT is what gets all the lakes and rivers there and in the right place (except in the far north) it is obviously much improved with UT. The pics show Rockcliffe in the winter with the frozen Ottawa River for real and in FS for comparison; without UT the river would not be in the right place.

Abruzzo-Molise L'Aquila, Italy Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Abruzzo & Molise, Italy, Photoreal Scenery (26 june 2007). Freeware scenery for FS2004. All files of my scenery ABRUZZO & MOLISE: Abruzzo & Molise 1 - Campobasso.zip Abruzzo & Molise 2 - Pescara.zip Abruzzo & Molise 3 - Gran Sasso.zip Abruzzo & Molise 4 - L'Aquila.zip Author: Angelo Lanzillotta e-mail: [email protected] This photoreal scenery is based on aerial photos grabbed at the resolution of 5 meters per pixel (the same used in FS2004- works in FS 2002 too). I worked hard on these photos to obtain a final product with the real colours and the real positions for all parts of the landscape: if you have any comments or suggests, feel free to email me. Every single part of this scenery can be used also as a standalone product, so it's not necessary to download all 4 parts of my big scenery. However i strongly suggest to use all parts in order to obtain a complete photoreal look of this beautiful italian landscape, with famous mountains like Gran Sasso and Maiella. INSTALLATION: 1) extract the files in a directory of your choice using the option: Use folder names. 2) Open FS and add the scenery to the scenery library (order isn't important). For best results, use this scenery in association with Pietro Mauri Italymesh2004. DISCLAIMER This scenery is released as freeware, so nobody can make money with it. You cannot include this scenery in any software collection or web site without written permission of author. You can add objects and autogen (i had no time to work on them). This software can be used only as FSX/FS2004/FS2002 scenery: no other use is allowed. I accept absolutely no responsibility for your use of this software. Modified SRTM relief 76 m for Slovakia Download

File Description:
This Slovak terrain mesh 76 m (LOD9) is made from the 3arc-sec SRTM. The voids in the source data were filled by the interpolation. Both the primary processing of the 3arc-sec data and the rendering of the terrain in the FS cause flattening and simplifying of the real shape of the terrain. This phenomenon was partially compensated by the sharpening of the source data.

Made by the programs Surfer (Golden Software) and MS Terrain SDK 2000 and 2002. The relief covers the area N49.9219 E016.1719 to N47.4609 E022.9687 in the boundaries of the LOD9 quadrants. This scenery contains only the elevation data. The other elements of the basic terrain as the landclass, locally used airborne photos, vector roads, rivers and lakes are available in different sceneries by other authors and they are continuously developed.
