P-51D ZK-PLI "Miss Torque"

File Description:
This is a repaint only for the Shockwave WWII Fighters P-51D. This Mustang never saw combat during the second world war, and passed through the National guard after the war, before being sold to private pilots. She flew as ZK-PLI "Miss Torque" in New Zealand with the Alpine Fighter Collection between 1993 and 2003 before being sold and it returned to the USA. She is now flying with Jack Croul in a completely bare, factory fresh look. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by John Terrell.

P-51D 21st FG/531st FS 305 "Shrimp IV"

File Description:
P-51D 44-63781 was assigned to Captain Charles G. Betz, of the 531st FS/ 21st FG, based in Iwo Jima, may 1945. Capt. Betz flew combat with the 72nd FS during the Central Pacific campaign, damaging one 'Zeke' with his P-39. He transferred to the 531st in spring 1944 and became operations officer in march 1945. He flew several VLR missions with the 531st before receiving orders sending him home on 1 june 1945. Repaint of the Shockwave WWII Mustang by Jan Kees Blom, based on paintkit by John Terrell.

P-51D 15th FG/78th FS Iwo Jima 100 "Jeanne VIII"

File Description:
P-51D-20 44-63973 was assigned to Major James M. Van de Hey, the CO of the 78th FS. He was a highly experienced veteran fighter pilot, who had scored his first victories flying a P-40 with the 45th FS in january 1944. He shot down a 'Dinah' on 7 april 1945, on the first VLR mission to Tokio. Jim van de Hey retired from the USAF in 1971 as a brigadier general. Repaint of the Shockwave WWII Mustang by Jan Kees Blom, based on paintkit by John Terrell.

F-51D West Virginia ANG

File Description:
Repaint of the A2A WWII P-51D Mustang as F-51D-30-NT 45-11582 using John Terrell's excellent paint kit. This aircraft was one of the last batches of P-51D's delivered to the USAAF before the close of WWII. After an uneventful post-war career its final allocation was to the 167th Fighter Bomber Squadron West Virginia ANG at Kanawaha County, West Virginia in 1953. It was withdrawn fron ANG service in December 1956 and transferred to the California Air Material Area in Sacramento. It was sold to Ed Maloney November 1957 and registered N5441V. It was one of the founding aircraft of the 'Planes of Fame' museum in Chino CA and has been in near constant use since then. It has been adorned with a variety of liveries during this time and currently flies as a 334th FS 4th FG Mustang flown by Major James 'Goody' Goodson in 1944. It has for many years been affectionately known as 'Spam Can' This repaint is based on a photograph of the aircraft in near-derelict condition carrying 2 small practice bombs, probably taken at Sacremento in 1957 before disposal. It therefore represents Spam Can in her final days in active USAF service.

North American P-51D Mustang 'Dakota Kid II/Long Island Kid' (Wings of Power)

File Description:
This is a repaint only for the Wings of Power P-51D/H pack. Flown by Lt. Noble E Peterson of the 358th Fighter Squadron, P-51D 44-14711 "Dakota Kid II / Long Island Kid" was named due to Peterson being a native of N. Dakota and his crew chief's home of Long Island.

Northwest Airways Douglas DC-3

File Description: Based on repaint templates by Mark Beaumont and original textures by Jan Visser, this texture set in Northwest Airways (NWA) livery requires the base DC-3 package available from Mid Atlantic Air Museum Simulations (MAAM-SIM) at www.maam.org. This is a repaint of G-AMPY which was built in 1943 and served with NWA. She was built for the USAF and then transferred to the RAF in 1944. She served with a number of Airlines after WWII This repaint is based on the 50th Anniversary livery (1986). There is also an FSX version of the texture available on this site. For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Textures for de MAAM-SIM B-25J 'Briefing Time'. By Daniel Nole. Fuerza Aerea Uruguaya N.A.B-25J-25 Mitchell FAU-156"Charrúa",ex USAF 44-30729 of the Grupo de Aviación No.3(Bombardeo).11 B-25J were adquired in 1949 and after some training time at Palmdale, the planes were flown in ferry flight on 05/22/50 to Montevideo-Uruguay arriving at destination on 06/10/50.
