Lufthansa Boeing 737-230 'Landshut' Download

File Description:
TinMouse II Project Boeing 737-230ADV 'Landshut' D-ABCE Repaint of Lufthansa's Boeing 737-230 'Landshut', Reg. D-ABCE, c/n 20254/230. This aircraft was hijacked by palestine terrorists in October 1977 as LH181 on its way from Palma de Mallorca to Frankfurt/M. The pilot in command, Juergen Schumann, was shot aboard at Aden airport. After 5 days crew and passengers were freed by the GSG-9 at Mogadischu airport. After 2 months of retirement, the second officer Juergen Vietor returned back into LH service; his first flight took him aboard the 'Landshut' which continued service for Lufthansa until 1985. She is still in service as PT-MTB for TAF Linhas Areas and she is used for cargo flights... All textures in DXT3-format; this package contains textures only; you need the TinMouse II aircraft. British and Commonwealth Shipping Co. Ltd. Bristol Britannia 317 (G-APNB) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Textures for Jens B. Kristensens Bristol Britannia 300 model (BRT_V10.ZIP). These textures depict Britannia 317 c/n 13426, built at Filton and registered G-APNB Nov. 1958. She was delivered 30.04.1959 to British and Commonwealth Shipping Ltd .and in May 1960 transferred to the parent company Hunting Clan Air Transport Ltd. This aircraft and sister ship G-APNA made several UK - Far East trooping charter flights. Fitted with 114 rearward-facing seats, the interior layout was described as "unusually luxurious" for a troop carrier! Six flights each month were made between London, Singapore and Hong Kong with fuel stops at Istanbul, Karachi and Bombay. Further trooping contracts followed to Cyprus, Kenya and Aden also other charter services were flown (See video clip on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2p9feJUh_iE). Photos with an without colored engine cowlings exist. Cheetline and titles were repeatedly altered too. 1959-60 G-APNB was leased to East African Airways Corp., EAAC. In July 1960 both Britannias came to British United Airways, BUA by merger. G-APNB were sold to Donaldson Intl. 1967 and leased out to Lloyd Intl. 1967 and 1969. She retired 1971 and was broken up at Luton.

New Alternate Roads for FlightOne "USRoads" Download

File Description:
USA Roads" is a software add-on for MS Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9) marketed by Flight One Software, Inc. and Scenery Solutions. It replaces the default roads and highways which are sparse and only approximate in location, with correctly placed roads, down to the street level. It has been said by some that "US Roads" look unrealistic, like looking at a Road-Map, because the roads are too bright and clean. In real life the roads are darker and partially concealed by vegetation. I have spent hours looking at aerial photos on the net, and was surprised at how "US Roads" looks very realistic, especially when comparing FS "top-down" views with map-type color photos. The light color roads are very prominent in the pictures, as are the clean lines. In my new "Alternate US Roads", I have modified the various roads using different methods, including actual road photographs, changes in road color and brightness, and the use of irregular transparency to soften the lines and give the illusion of vegetation partially obscuring the roadse. Most textures use images adapted from "US Roads" by kind permission of the author. Extract to a temporary file, and follow the ReadMe!

CZFN - Tulita - Northwest Territories, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Tulita (Fort Norman until 1996) is another in the series of airfields that follow (approximately) the Mackenzie River. At the far northern end of the river and on the eastern side of the delta there is Tuktoyaktuk, then Inuvik, Fort McPherson, Fort Good Hope, Deline, Wrigley, Fort Simpson Island and Fort Simpson, and then Fort Liard at the southern end of the list of those in the Northwest Territories. South of Fort Liard there are Peace River and Dawson Creek, both of which are already posted. Tulita is at the junction of the Mackenzie and Great Bear Rivers, on the east bank of the Mackenzie and the south bank of the Great Bear, around 40 miles southeast of Norman Wells. The town has a population of about 480 folks. The airport is above and to the east of the town, and has 3,000 feet of gravel runway. The scheduled flights are by North Wright and I have also added a Buffalo DC3 and GA. There is a mandatory radio frequency but in this case I have set the "tower" to "unmanned" so you will report position and intentions. There is no fuel available.

Active ILS - KLAS (McCarran Intl - Las Vegas, Nevada) Download

File Description:
As most know initiating the ILS at certain airports for AI Aircraft or User Planes is not a function at this time when using AFCAD2 if visibilty falls below 3 miles. This is do to the somewhat complex XML code that has to be written for NAVAIDS and then the compiling into a bgl file. If you add a new ILS runway to an airport such as KLAS (rwy 01L) only the user aircraft can use this runway when visibility falls below 3 miles. ATC will no longer use 01L ILS runway for AI Traffic or User Aircraft (by default) because FS9 sees it as a visual runway and will now vector your Planes back to rwy 7/25LR ILS which is also being used as a Terminal Departure Runway. The KLAS_ILS_jv.bgl file adds all NAVAIDS for making 01L a Precision Instrument Runway by adding all the radar fixes for both the ILS/DME approach portion and the proper missed approach procedures as per current published plates for runway 01L. See the readme for what's new at the KLAS airport. **** AFCAD2 included for FS9 default scenery. ****

Wekweeti CFJ2 in the Northwest Territories, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Wekweeti is a small village in the Northwest Territories, around 120 miles north of Yellowknife and 100 east of Gameti, which was recently posted. It has a population of around 125. There is no all-weather road access and the village is reliant upon the airfield for supplies, along with an ice road in the winter months. The area is a complex collection of lakes and small rivers and the airfield is around 3 miles east of the village on a lake shore. The lit gravel runway of 3,400 feet with PAPI at both ends is aligned 307T-127T with T standing for "true" and not the unreliable magnetic heading in the Canadian northern domestic airspace. The airfield is served by Air Tindi from Yellowknife on an almost daily basis, included in the AI here along with some GA and a Thursday delivery by a Buffalo DC3. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.

Embrun CPR2 in Ontario Canada 2012 Revision Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Embrun is in Ontario a few miles southeast of Ottawa, and southwest of my posted strips Russel Farm, Russellet Strip, and Indian Creek. It is a real airfield, used by Embrun Flying Club, and there is now fuel since the owner built a house on the field and moved in, and more hangars than there used to be. All in all a nice airfield with a grass runway 2,260 feet long, and in this REVISED version with a new windsock. There are electric cables strung along the road at the eastern end of the runway, marked by visibility balls; watch out for those. At the western end there are some old grain silos; these shouldn't be a problem, and if you are flying a taildragger give you something to aim at until the tail comes up. I did my first grass field landing and take off there when I was learning to fly, and it is just the right distance from Rockcliffe for a nice afternoon training flight. Look out for geese taking off from the fields to the west when you use 26; that departure from Embrun along with 50 geese was more entertaining than most.

CYCQ - Chetwynd - British Columbia, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The town of Chetwynd (population around 2,600) is on the east side of the Rocky Mountains, the first town to be encountered when descending from the Rockies on highway 97. Previously known as Little Prairie, the town name was changed in 1962. The main occupations of the town are linked to forestry, fossil fuels, and transportation; there are railway lines north to Fort St John, east to Dawson Creek, and south to Prince George. The airport is on the southern side of the town, with one runway aligned 05-23, asphalted in 1975 and just under 4,500 feet long. There are no scheduled services, although a new terminal building was constructed in 2008, and the helicopter operations by at least two companies (oil and gas and medical evacuation flights) are the primary operations from the field. These are included in the AI, incorporating helicopter modifications made by Holger Sandmann so that they function properly as AI at an airfield. As an aside, landing like a plane and using the runway and taxiways is in fact exactly what a helicopter does at a normal airfield in real life; everyone does the same thing so that guessing is unneccesary.

Chilko Lake CAG3 & Scum Lake CAW3 in British Columbia Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Chilko Lake and Scum Lake are both on the eastern side of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia. Chilko Lake CAG3 is around 30 miles south of Puntzi Mountain and at the northern end of the lake, serving Tsylos Park Lodge, which caters for trekking, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing etc. The runway is 3,200 feet of gravel aligned 18-36 and unlit, at 3,850 feet ASL (above sea level). Scum Lake is around 30 miles southeast of Puntzi Mountain and 25 miles northeast of Chilko Lake. Don't ask me about the name. The airstrip appears to serve a small village and is noted as "private", so perhaps also a lodge operation. The runway is 3,500 feet of gravel aligned 03-21, unlit and at 3,921 feet ASL. I have posted these as a separate scenery, but I suggest that you just add it to your previously created "BC airfields" and avoid the inevitable doubling up of common textures etc. Plus that way you will have just one FS9 library post to do and new airfields will not need yet another posting. Up to you. If you find a defect, email me.

PADL - Dillingham - Alaska, USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Dillingham is a town with a population of around 2,300 at the southeast corner of the Bering Sea in Bristol Bay, 70 miles west of King Salmon. The town's economical well being is based on the commercial price of salmon and the numerous surrounding sport fishing lodges. FS9 shows the town as way more extensive than it is; the landclass textures correct this. The airport is a mile west of the town and has a single runway 6,400 feet long and orientated 01-19. There are scheduled passenger flights by Alaska Air (numerous in summer and non-existant in winter) and PenAir (year around) plus cargo flights by Everts and Northern Air Transport, and local scheduled flights by Grant Air; the AI includes these, plus GA. The GA gravel apron is behind the main apron and across a road, which is unusual. The parking on the asphalt apron is marked; in actuality there are no markings but landing at a field in FS9 that doesn't have a control tower leaves one wondering where to go; the six spots at the far northern end are unused by AI and free for visitors.
