Powell, Wyoming was a major stop-over for Frontier Airlines starting in 1950 with DC-3's for people going from Billings, Montana to Salt Lake City, Utah and points in-between. A nice little airport that needed alot of help.
I discovered this airport flying the Frontier route in my DC-3 and didn't like the looks of it at all! So I fixed it.
It has a 6175X100' asphalt runway and 2 dirt-grass useable runways.
Look at the default pics and then see what lots of help from Google Earth and FS Earth can do to a sad airport.

Riverton, Wyoming was another major stop-over for Frontier Airlines starting in 1950 with DC-3's for people going from Billings, Montana to Salt Lake City, Utah and points in-between.
I discovered this airport flying the Frontier route in my DC-3 and didn't like the looks of it at all! So I fixed it.
It has a 8203 ft asphalt runway and a 4800 ft one. The airport was first built in 1937. Today,it averages about 20 aircraft operations a day. (Stats-April 2009)
This is airport 5 in the 10 airport series. Get the KPOY scenery to have the AI DC-3's use this airport.

File Description:
The 6600' long St. George airport in southwestern Utah sits high on a mesa! You grasp your armrest hoping that you will become airborne before you fall off the cliff...Or just after landing you are nervously waiting for the pilot to apply the brakes as the end of the runway rushes up to meet you before you fall into nothingness! Such is the fate that awaits the pilot or passenger that ventures to the Saint George, Utah airport.
Actually, it is a very safe and delightful airport to base your flights from. Visit Southern Utah and see the many sights that await the adventurous soul. Take a trip from KSGU to Moab-KCNY or KVEL and marvel at the diversity of the landscape. ( I upgraded those 2 airports also.)
While designed for use with Ultimate Terrain, this enhancement should work with the default FS2004 setting. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the simple installation instructions.

Another great place to visit for the VFR lover! Check out the canyons and mountains around Vernal. Watch out for the Dinosaurs! This file is an update to my old KVEL. Lots of new stuff.
Take a trip to North to visit Flaming Gorge Dam and lake. Be sure to take your fishing pole and don't forget the bait!
The DC-3's that stop there start at KBIL and KSLC. KVEL is airport #9 of the KBIL to KSLC Frontier Airlines 1950 flight schedule. You will need to get my KPOY airport to see them. I didn't want to duplicate the traffic file of the DC-3's so I chose KPOY as the main starting point of the DC-3's.

It has a 7005 ft asphalt runway and 2 dirt-grass useable runways. There is a golf course next to the airport so be sure to stop in and play a round.
I used the 'plumbing method' so the AI aircraft go foward out of the parking stalls.
This is airport #4 of 10 on the route of Billings,Mt to Salt Lake City, Ut. I have also completed #2-KPOY; #3-KGEY; and #9-KVEL.

This scenery covers the eastern part of Lake Powell from just south of Hite (UT03) and goes down south along White Canyon, Natural Bridges National Monument and the Grand Gulch Primitive Area all the way to the San Juan River. Monument Valley is an impressive sight in south Utah but not, unfortunately, in FS9. Unless you invest in a detailed terrain mesh there are no stacks of rocks reaching for the sky and the lasting overall impression is just of a desert. But I had already downloaded the land textures so I ended up making the Monument Valley UT25 airfield and the nearby Oljato 05UT, which has no buildings of any sort. Maybe I was bored. There is a lodge close to the field with dozens of cabins, but I had insufficient information so this is for the airfield only. The 4,000 feet of new tarmac is aligned 16-34 and is single ended with a large chunk of rock at the southern end; 16 is only used for landing and 34 is only for take off. The runway is not lit. Do not be surprised when you ask to select a runway for take off and FS9 only gives you 16 as a choice, even though you know this is the wrong one. When you accept it FS9 will quickly switch it to 34; apart from a possible sense of humour I have no idea why it does this. Nothing much to say about Oljato. What do you need? You actually don't need Ultimate Terrain as there are other land textures used here, so you will definitely need to have downloaded and installed the land textures "cny_south3west_2010 lr" and "cny_south3west2_2010 lr" by Gottfried Razek, as these land textures showed the runways in the correct positions. Look in the scenery library here or at the other place. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this (unless you count 4 as many) as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.
