OLRA - Rayak Air Base in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon - Updated Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is an updated version that includes the AI planes and WITH SCENERY TEXTURES. Rayak OLRA is at 3,183 feet asl in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, a short hop over the mountains from Beirut. It has a single runway almost 10,000 feet long, aligned 40-220. It used to be the main base of the small Lebanese air force (I think three Hawker Hunters) but is now, although still in use, relegated to secondary status since a new base was opened in the north of Lebanon. I believe there are also some civilian users, though that could be misinformation. I made this after a recent visit. Which does not mean that the buildings are all totally accurate but it is for sure better than the default FS9.

RAF Upper Heyford 1970 Download

File Description:
RAF Upper Heyford. The Oxfordshire(UK) USAFE base which closed in 1992/3. Here as it was when in use by F-111s in the 70s.This airfield addon was produced at the request of Steve Mock and Paul Metzner who were both stationed at Upper Heyford with Det 2 40 ARRW flying Kaman HH43 Huskies. My thanks to them for testing succeeding versions of the software in both FS2002 and FS2004 and generally guiding me regarding details of the airbase. Thanks also to many other people who have answered questions for me and generally helped me get to grips with scenery design on this, my first attempt at producing a " proper " airfield add-on. Any mistakes or ommissions are mine. This version includes modified Landclass files - please read the installation instructions carefully.

Mirage F.1CG Hellenic Air Force Download

File Description:
On 16 June 1974 the contract for 40 Mirage F.1CG.s was signed and the deliveries were scheduled to last from 1977 until 1979. Because of the invasion of Cyprus by Turkey, in July 1974, the Mirages delivered on 5 August 1975. The Greek F.1CGs aircraft entered service with the 342 Mira, which at the time was still using the F-102A Delta Dart as an all-weather interceptor. The last Delta Daggers in HAF service would be retired in 1977 when all 40 F.1CGs were delivered. Unfortunately the Hellenic Air Force Staff did not buy any of the French AA missiles to equip the new fighters and so these had to be armed with US-supplied AIM-9Js instead. In 1984 the KETA (Center for Research and Aviation Technology) stared to develop the wiring for the 2 outboard underwing pylons, in order to make F.1Cgs able to carry 4 AAM instead of 2. This happened with Dassault's help by 1985 and ever since the PA Mirage tooth four AIM-9P-2. After the arrival of more modern types in PA service, the Mirage E.1CG's started to become secondary in PA planning and air operations. In 2000 344 Mira disbanded and all it’s aircraft and personnel passed on to 342 Mira. After almost 28 years of service, on 30 June 2003 the remaining 24 F.1CG's were retired at Tanagra AB. In total, the PA logged no less but 160.000+ flying hours with its F.1CGs, which means 5500-6000 per airframe - and many of these - over 3.500+ hours - in "live" interceptions over the Aegean Sea, under combat-similar conditions. Features: panel, Virtual Cockpit, four Textures, Sounds, msonic boom effect, reworked and more accurate flight dynamics.

Kempegowda International Airport (IATA: BLR, ICAO: VOBL) is an international airport serving Bangalore, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. Spread over 4,000 acres (1,600 ha), it is located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of the city near the village of Devanahalli. It is owned and operated by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), a public–private consortium. The airport opened in May 2008 as an alternative to increased congestion at HAL Airport, the original primary commercial airport serving the city. It is named after Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bangalore. Kempegowda International Airport became Karnataka's first fully solar powered airport developed by CleanMax Solar.[2][3]

As of 2016, Kempegowda Airport is the third-busiest airport by passenger traffic in the country, behind the airports in Delhi, Mumbai and is the 35th-busiest airport in Asia. It handled over 22.2 million passengers in 2016 with little less than 500 aircraft movements a day. The airport also handled about 314,060 tonnes (346,190 short tons) of cargo. By 2020, it is expected to handle at least 40 million passengers per year, with 45 international airlines and more than 1000 aircraft movements per day.

Boeing B-17G (HB791) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Repaint for the A2A B-17G in the colors of B-17G-40-VE 42-98021, which was given to the RAF in the summer of 1944. 42-98021 became Fortress III HB791 of the Coastal Command's 220 Squadron. It was assigned call letters ZZ-T and flew out of Lagens, Azores for coastal patrols and a bit of sub hunting. Was normally equipped with 12 400lb bombs or 16 250lb depth charges. The cheek guns were removed and the ball turret was replaced with radar, like a 8th AF pathfinder. It was transferred to the 521 Squadron in 31 Aug 1945, where it became the last B-17 used by the RAF before being Struck Off Charge and sold to International Alloys on 11 March 1947.

Repaint by Will "dafraz48" Turner, based on the A2A paintkit, January 2015.

Air Canada DC-8 Operating Manual Download

File Description:
These are scans from an old Air Canada DC-8 manual. There are four chapters: Chapter 2 - Normal Operation, which includes Takeoff through Approach and Landing procedures. Chapter 4 - Performance, which includes performance charts for DC-8-40 (RR Conway), DC-8-50 (JT3D-3), DC-8-61 (JT3D-3) and DC-8-63 (JT3D-7). Chapter 20 - Flight Instruments, which includes detailed descriptions and schematics of the pitot static system, gyrosyn compass system, and a flight director approach diagram. Chapter 21 - Automatic Flight Control System, which includes descriptions and a schematic of the autopilot system, as well as a description of autothrottle operation (Air Canada had some DC-8-63s with autothrottle). These are the only chapters I have, so don't bother asking for more! Big thanks to Herman Kreimes who provided the material for scans.

SIDSTARS Ronald Reagan Washington National (KDCA) Download

File Description:
Procedures based on current (Cycle 0701) FAA Digital Terminal Information and published charts. I include ten departure routes (KDCA hasn't a published SID) for use in lieu of ATC vectors, which are based on FAA Preferred Routes and actual traffic. All (turbojet) STARs are included, and the primary ones have enumerations to provide routing to approach in lieu of ATC vectors. Approaches included ILS01, RNP19 and the Visual Charted Approach Procedures. This location is directly South of the Washington Monument, the Mall and the most restrictive airspace in the county. The lowest minima available for landing South is the RNP19 approach, which requires a 40 deg turn on short final at 500 MSL. I believe "National" is one of the most difficult locations to fly in and out of, needless to say, B737/A320 types only (no B747). For PMDG Only.

W88 Air Harbor - Greensboro NC Download

File Description:
I decided to make this modification to W88 (Air Harbor, Greensboro NC) simply because the stock airport was done completely wrong. The default version has way too much ramp area where there should be grass runway. According to Airnav ( http://www.airnav.com/airport/W88 ), the runway is 2460' x 65', composed of "asphalt/turf." MS put in a 20' wide asphalt strip, but put a huge ramp right next to it. I've done two things to the airport. First, I severly reduced the size of that ramp. Second, due to the limitations in FS, I simply added a 40' wide grass runway adjacent to the asphalt strip. This gives you the total width called for by Airnav's spec, and also gives two more starting points as a bonus! There's still more ramp than in real-life, but I just consider that "artistic license." :)

Hall Beach CYUX in Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Hall Beach is on the Melville Peninsula, part of the mainland of Canada, south and west of Baffin Island. It is around 40 miles south of Igloolik and 50 miles west of Rowley, both of them my previous posts. The airfield was built to support the construction and operation of a main DEW line radar station and to support the rest of the associated chain. Because of the employment opportunities this brought, a village developed nearby. The airfield continues in regular use and the runway, though still gravel, is 5,400' long and 150' wide and lighted; the alignment is 124T and 304T as this is in northern domestic airspace and bearings are given as 'true" and not "magnetic". There are scenery folders for the village, roads, grass, etc, and AI for two airlines with regular service to Hall Beach.
