| B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2242 for The B24 Guy's OH |
|
File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2242, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane # 8. Pilot: Capt. Edward J. (Ski) York, Co-pilot: Lt. Robert G. Emmens, Navigator: Lt. Nolan A. Herndon, Bombardier: S/Sgt Theodore H. Laban, Engineer/Gunner: Sgt. David W. Pohl. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Texture, and Damage Files included. Note the three windows in both port and starboard bulkheads. By revev. Enjoy!

| Drivable and Flyable Grey Van |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The Drivable and Flyable Grey Van is derived from a stationary Euro Van model by the following modifications / additions:
-land-vehicle instrument panel
-sound files
-FSX effects and custom exhaust smoke effects files
-modified .CFG and .AIR files
The vehicle is powered by a single aircraft piston engine with modified flaps to serve as a gear-shift. High gear allows the vehicle to speed up to 70 Kt on wide highways, while the low gear restricts the speed to about 12 Kt, but enables the vehicle to ascend steep slopes for exploring terrain scenery.
At speeds around 65-70 Kt (in gear 4), pulling back on the yoke will allow the vehicle to take off and fly at level-flight speeds around 70 Kt. This is an interesting way to go island-hopping, overcome insurmountable terrain obstacles, or cover larger straight-line distances without using the slew mode.
An autopilot with hold altitude and hold heading options is operable during flight only.
All dashboard instruments are fully functional, including the Radio-Magnetic Indicator (RMI) during flight. Needles 1 and 2 are activated if correct frequencies are entered in the ADF and VOR radios.
The vehicle has lights which are toggled by pressing [L]. Lights are associated with a very thin exhaust smoke effect. Thick exhaust smoke is toggled by pressing [I].
Driving vehicles through FSX scenery in different seasons presents a whole new aspect to the simulation. It allows us to imagine discovering innumerable places on the planet which are in practice beyond our reach.
I hope you enjoy!

| Flight dynamics update V1.0 for FS2004 Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker By Mike Stone |

File Description:
Flight dynamics update V1.0 for FS2004 Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker By Mike Stone
Dynamics only, Original aircraft available at:
http://www.pmstone.com/
Note: both these dynamics AND the real plane do NOT have thrust reversers. It seems the USAF did not want them on their plane, despite the availability on that engine model. Anyway, don't use the thrust reverse.
A friend who's recently posted to a KC-135 squadron recently asked me to tweek the layout of the fuel tanks on Mike Stone's freeware KC-135. What I thought would be a very simple edit ended up being a full blown project that transformed how the model flies, and what kinds of payload configurations are possible.
For instance, the KC can carry either internal fuel bladders in the main cargo bay, along with full wing and fuselage fuel, or it can take reduced fuel load and take on a fair amount of cargo pallets. My edits will allow you to choose one or the other, but it's defaulting to a air refueling mission that it sees more commonly.
Once on my way, I requested and received permission from Mike Stone to share this edited dynamics, which I'm doing right now. Enjoy!
