Selva00.. A WW2 Defence Airfield

File Description:
MPBA is again becoming a known airfield now that "Beefy" Raphael has opened a hunting lodge near it. During WW2 it was home to Squadron 34 with its sleek P-39´s as part of the Panama Canal defences. As time passed the jungle covered most of it and a ravine opened up crossing it almost at the middle. If you fly there with some hunters Beefy will be in the observation tower waving with his photographer who will take some pics of you and hunters. You should take off from MPTO for a nice 30 min flight...... (Now that the rainy season has arrived try the flight in Real weather for some excitement....)

DGLA Wa, Ghana

File Description:
Yet another totally obscure Googlyafcad A&F Data file - for Wa, based on Google Earth satellite data. Wa is Wa? Wa is a minor domestic airport in Ghana with very limited facilities. For limited, read virtually nil. There is no ramp - aircraft just pull off the runway near a disused piece of roadway for passengers to board and disembark. Unfortunately, Microsoft have provided no facilities in Flight Simulator 2004 at this airport (which as far as I can establish does not at present see commercial flights although it did at one time) and this file will allow you and your "AI" traffic to land, taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner.

TR727_Gauge_Update.zip

File Description:
This is an engine gauge(xml gauge)update for Thomas Ruth's new 727 model for FSX (tom7271.zip ). The gauge update changes the N1, N2, & EGT engine gauge calibration to reflect gauge readings within the normal and maximum ranges at TOGA(Take Off/Go-Around),MCT(Maximum Continuous thrust), and Cruise thrust settings. The original gauge readings at higher throttle settings indicated high off-scale for N1, N2, and especially EGT. The new gauge/thrust ratios may not perfectly reflect real 727 JT-8D engine settings in sim but the intent was to limit the maximum ranges. Thanks to Thomas Ruth for making such an excellent 727 freeware model for FSX and giving permission for posting this small update.

How to correctly use SimConnect in standalone applications in C++

File Description:
This is an article and a demonstration program for programmers. This article describes the correct way to create a Windows application that uses SimConnect functions as C++ classes. "The correct way" involves the creation of a multi-threaded application with the exchange events between the main and working threads and encapsulation of the client thread, functions and structures of the SimConnect library in C++ classes. Paying attention to points of principle, the process of creation client application is described. Some original solutions of the wrapping of the functions and data structures were applied. Detailed comments are present. The executable file is absent in the archive due to license restrictions. You can build it from the source code. There is a project for Visual Studio 2010 in attached archive.
