| Douglas C-47 (N65276) Frontier Airlines |

This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of Frontier Airlines N65276, one of the C-47/DC-3's operated by Frontier Airlines. On April 21, 1957, at 1321 hours, N65276, operating as Frontier Airlines flight 7 departed Prescott, Arizona enroute to Phoenix under visual flight rules (VFR) with 21 passengers and one stewardess. As the flight proceeded southbound toward Phoenix the weather deteriorated to a point where the flight could no longer remain clear of clouds and maintain VFR. Captain Welling requested and received an instrument flight rules (IFR) clearance to proceed to Phoenix via Knob intersection thence to the Phoenix omni range, maintain 7000 feet. The crew never acknowledged receiving the clearance. It is suspected that the reason there was no response is that this was the precise moment that flight 7 struck the west ridge of a mountain at the 4500’ level southeast of Prescott shearing off twelve feet of the left wing and six feet of the left aileron. After declaring an emergency, flight 7 landed safely at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport without further incident. There was no injury to the passengers or crew. The wing was replaced and the aircraft continued flying for Frontier. Sadly, N65276 was lost in a tragic accident in 1967 on a snowy Denver day when a rudder-lock had been placed on an elevator and not removed prior to take-off. Both pilots were killed in the crash. | Brevoort CWOB and BAF-3 radar plus Cartwright LAB-6 radar Canada |

File Description:
Brevoort airstrip and the BAF-3 radar it serves is on Brevoort Island, off one of the southeastern tips of Baffin Island and 140 miles east of Iqaluit. This scenery includes the BAF-3 buildings on the hilltop and those on the airstrip below, plus the roads connecting them and down to the beach landing area on the rocky coast. This scenery is made for the FSGenesis 76m terrain mesh for northern Canada, and there will be a repost of all my northern Canada airfields to suit this; I cannot think now why I never installed this mesh before. The AI reflects the use of civil airlines for resupply and transportation of personnel. Given the terrain the wind should be from the north so that ai lands using the 02 runway. Landing from the north will involve a terrain clash while take off towards the north will not as the climb out clears the hilltop. The video shows the 600 foot cliff at the runway threshold and an Air Tindi plane on the apron. Cartwright CYCA is on the Labrador coast and has been posted by Flight Ontario as part of their Goose Bay and Labrador Regional Airports sceneries. The nearby LAB-6 radar site is included here, connected to CYCA by an extended road. The site uses the same buildings as Brevoort and Saglek (posted recently) and although I have included them here as separate sceneries the contents can be placed in the same folders as Saglek with a saving in duplicated textures. The textures here are more accurate than Saglek so say yes to over-write; a downloader with personal experience of Brevoort noted that in reality they are lighter.

The Majority of the e-mails i got were asking for a flight used by British Airways to New York (JFK). This flight plan is 100% accurate, i can't say that often, but the information I got was from Flight aware, and all the way points I entered into the FMC it took. I have also included FMC information (Cost index, Reserves, Cruise alt, V1, e.t.c.) The flight is called BA-282, British Airways uses 5 747's to and from New York everyday! If would like information or another flight plan made just drop me a line at [email protected]! For use with PMDG 747/737 Only!

The information for each flight was gathered by getting the flight information from the Binghampton Regional Airport website and then using Flight Tracking internet sites (www.flightview.com and www.flytecomm.com) to get accurate Departure and Arrival times, type of aircraft, and Flight Levels.
