Boeing 787-942 VIP-BBJ Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Boeing 787-942 Boeing Business Jet (VIP), AKA "DreamJet", is the Corporate version of this aircraft, modified for individual client specs. The range is extended beyond the normal 787-9 due to additional fuel tanks, a lot less payload weight, and more powerful and efficient engines. The Cabin Pressure is decreased to 6,000 ft, allowing for higher Flight Levels than normal. The tail number on this model can be changed to match the user's preference, since it is not apparent on the exterior (No Airline Call used on Private Aircraft). This is a huge aircraft and normally seats about 300 passengers, but there are only 48 (including Pilots/Attendants) on this plane. A lot of space remains for luxuries that are well beyond any Business Jet of any kind other than the 747 or A380. Some of these luxuries include automated beds that are hidden in the floorboard and activated by the attendants when requested, and each of these includes a privacy barrier. There is one Large Screen TV with stereo surround sound with theater seating in the fore section, and separate small screen monitors located at every assigned seat (including flight data relay of all positioning and aircraft data viewable). The kitchen is fully equipped with 935 lbs of various food and drinks, with one attendant being a Master Chef. There is a automated Dance Floor that can be activated in the theater area, after the seating chairs are automatically stored below deck. The crew also experiences luxury as the pilots have a twin-bed sleeping area with a private kitchen (2 sleep while 2 fly), as do the attendants (fore and aft upper deck) with twin beds and private kitchens. The aircraft is also more luxurious in that it has 6.000 ft of pressure continuous to 47,000 ft, and has a very low interior noise level. There are also many added safety features that provide for survival in the event of a mishap, making it possible to survive a water crash for several days through the use of 6 inflatable skiff-rafts with engines, radios, and supplies. All attendants are trained and certified Registered Nurses, and they have 25 lbs of medications and supplies stored in the aft. Some of these features add to the empty weight, so the MTOW is the same as a normal aircraft of this design for commercial use (the gear are also modified for these accommodations). This aircraft is designed for educational use protected under the Fair Use Doctrine: (http://www.expertlaw.com/library/intellectual_property/fair_use.html) It cannot be sold or bundled for sale, and such will never be approved by me or the original authors. MRAO Turtuguero, Costa Rica Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Googly scenery for MRAO Turtuguero, Costa Rica - another one that Microsoft forgot in FS2004. It is a small domestic airport located on a long spit of land that almost seems like an island. Turtuguero is just a village but the airport also serves the lush Tortuguero National Park (rain falls all the year round here) which draws thousands of visitors each year. The airport is served daily by DHC-6 Twin Otters of Nature Air.

These scenery files create the airport and add taxiways, aprons, buildings and other airport features, so that you and your "AI" traffic can land, taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner. The scenery does not purport to be ultra-accurate. Based on less-than-perfect satellite imagery from Google Earth, the layout is as good as I can get it, but some imagination has been used as I cannot tell what buildings exist. The buildings and other features I have provided are built from default Microsoft objects and add-on libraries so will not look exactly like the real thing.

You are not obliged to download and install any additional scenery libraries, but to enjoy this scenery in its entirety, you may wish to. It will work fine, with or without. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM]

Echo Bay CAA7 in British Columbia, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the fifth in a series of new and renovated float bases in BC. Echo Bay is a floating marina on the northwest coast of Gilford Island, just 6 miles northwest of Health Bay (the previous post in this series). It is run by a beard called Pierre and his wife, and the food seems to attract crowds. Watch the video, and others about the marina; some of the more interesting buildings are replicated here, others are representative. There is no fuel or oil available but you can post a letter as there is a post office in the store that sells food etc to boaters. The AI is a further adaptation of the CF36 AI and involves a Baxter Beaver flying from Port Hardy on a round trip in the area through Port McNeill, Health Bay, Echo Bay, and Sullivan Bay, plus Harbour Air from Vancouver, and small GA. At Echo Bay the AI appears to work for both landing and takeoff for the Beaver and sometimes for the Otter, depending on wind direction. All of these float bases can be installed together in the same folders, with a saving in duplicate textures. So a series called BC Floats (or whatever you want to call it) or individually installed float bases; your choice. The next in the series will be Sullivan Bay, another floating marina. I have used what was a RWY12 boat here, but my RWY12 no longer includes the "Port and Sea" part that included this and other boats. Somewhere I must still have the textures as they are showing up as required, but I cannot find them to include them here. Hopefully your installation will find them on your hard drive and use them. If not, complain to me and I will attempt to demonstrate diligence.

Aasiaat BGAA on the west coast of Greenland Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
I wrote that Qikiqtarjuaq, on the east coast of Baffin Island, was the jumping off airfield for ferry flights for small planes from Canada to Europe via Greenland. Aasiaat is the airfield in Greenland that they jump to, 300 miles across the Davis Strait. The airfield is on the northern coast of Aasiaat Island, and the town of the same name is just two miles to the west. The runway is 2,600 feet of asphalt almost 100 feet wide and lit, at 74 feet ASL, aligned 12/30, with the apron and terminal building at the western end. Air Greenland run regular flights with a Dash-7 or 8, & Twin Otters, and the markings for the taxiway and parking spot in front of the terminal are exactly as they were six years ago. I have seen video since then that has further taxiway and parking spot markings added in, but I like the simplicity of the original. Unfortunately, given the limitations of FS and the single runway and simple taxiway routing there was no way to replicate both the parking facing away from the terminal AND the "through" taxiing to complete the circle back to the runway; after parking correctly the AI Air Greenland Dash-8 will reverse before heading out to take off. There is both JetA and 100LL fuel available. The surrounding area is rocky, and there is no grass around the runway; the airfield has compacted gravel instead.

Heinkel P-1079A Night-Fighter Download

File Description:
Heinkel P-1079, a new twin-jet fighter project of the Heinkel Aircraft Construction Corp. was designed in five variations, all under the same designation. The first of these advanced designs, the Heinkel P-1078A was basically developed as a two-seated nightfighter. The pilot and the gunner/navigator were sitting in tandem position. The wings were swept back 35 degrees, mounted to mid-fuselage. The tail had a V-shaped rudder. The armament were three Rheinmetall-Borsig MK 108 30mm cannons in the nose and 24 R4-M 'Orkan' high explosive rockets on two racks mounted under the wings. Another feature of armament was the so-called 'schraege musik' with four upward-firing 20 mm Mauser MG 151/20 autocannons, mounted in the back of the aircraft. Therefore, the nightfighter had to approach and attack bombers from below, guided into position by commands from the navigator. The aircraft should be equipped with the new FUG 228 radar unit. This sophisticated radar would have empowered the aircraft with an almost all-weather ability. The engines were located in the wing roots. This version should be fitted with two Junkers Jumo 004D turbojet engines with two-stage fuel injector, each with 8.8 kN of power.

The max. speed was about Mach 0.89 = 950kph
The Range 1079.22nm = 1241.9 sm = 2000 km
The max. Service Ceiling was up to 51,000 ft = 15,545m

Sisimiut (BGSS) on the west coast of Greenland Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Sisimiut is on the west coast of Greenland. It is around 125 miles south of Aasiaat, and 80 miles west of Kangerlussuaq airport, which is currently the largest commercial airfield in Greenland. Sisimiut has a population of 5,500 and the main occupations are fishing, tourism, education, and a growing industrial base. It has the northernmost year-round ice-free port in Greenland, though icebergs floating down from the north are commonplace. The airport is across a bridge and along a two mile road on the north side of an inlet, northwest of the town. The runway is 2,600+ feet of asphalt almost 100 feet wide and lit, aligned 20/02 and at 33 feet ASL, with the apron and terminal building at the eastern end. The building is identical to the one at Aasiaat. Air Greenland run regular flights with a Dash-8, Dash-7, or Twin Otters; within FS9 it is impossible to land an Ai Dash-7 on a runway less than 3,000 feet long, so I used a Dash-8. There was no way to replicate both the parking facing away from the terminal AND the "through" taxiing to complete the circle back to the runway; after parking correctly the AI Air Greenland plane will reverse before heading out to take off. The surrounding area is rock with some scruffy grass and low bushes, and there is no grass around the runway; the airfield has compacted gravel instead.

Boeing B314 Clipper for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 Download

File Description:
Boeing B314 Clipper v1.0 for X-Plane 6.4/6.51- Built for Pan American Airways to expand their Clipper fleet, they also saw service for the US Navy and BOAC. The "clipper" name was appropriate because the Sikorsky S42, the Martin M130 (also available for X-Plane on AVSIM) and the Boeing B314 opened up long distance air lanes in 1930's and 40's the same way that the clipper ships opened up sea trade in the late 1800's. The model flies very well and is as accurate as the limited plans available to me. Due to limitations in shaping airfoils the outside rudders are actually engine nacelles (jets with 5 lb of thrust) and the lower wing is also an engine nacelle. The rear section of the fuselage is actually a gas tank or float section used to get better detail in the fuselage. As all of my models the exterior paint and panel can use a lot of work. What you see here is approximately 6-8 hours of modelling/decorating? work plus 16-20 hours or more of test flights. Number built: total 12, 6 A314's built with upgraded engines and increased range Engines: 4 - 1,600 HP, Wright R-2600, Twin Cyclone ,14 cylinder, air-cooled, radial engines. Wing Span: 152 ft. Length: 106 ft Max GW: 84,000 lb. Max level speed: 193 mph Cruising speed: 183 mph Range: 3,500 (5,200 A314) miles First flight: June 7, 1938, last retirement 1951. Ceiling: cruise 13,400, maximum 19,600 feet Accommodation: 10 crew, 74 (36 night) passengers.

Greece Airforce McDonnell Douglas F-4F Phantom II Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 E/F Phantom 2 is a two-seat, twin-engined, all-weather, long-range supersonic fighter-bomber originally developed for the U.S. Navy by McDonnell Aircraft. Proving highly adaptable, it became a major part of the air wings of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and U.S. Air Force. It was used extensively by all three of these services during the Vietnam War, serving as the principal air superiority fighter for both the Navy and Air Force, as well as being important in the ground-attack and reconnaissance roles by the close of U.S. involvement in the war. First entering service in 1960, the Phantom continued to form a major part of U.S. military air power throughout the 1970s and 1980s, being gradually replaced by more modern aircraft such as the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon in the U.S. Air Force and the F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 Hornet in the U.S. Navy. It remained in service in the reconnaissance and Wild Weasel roles in the 1991 Gulf War, finally leaving service in 1996. Phantoms remain in front line service with seven countries, and in use as an unmanned target in the U.S. Air Force. Phantom production ran from 1958 to 1981, with a total of 5195 built. This extensive run makes it the second most-produced Western jet fighter, behind the famous F-86 Sabre at just under 10,000 examples. Nord Noratlas Israeli Air Force (4X-FAP) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Nord 2501 Noratlas by Projet Noratlas in the colors of N2501IS 4X-FAP, the first of the Noratlas aircraft used by the Israeli Air Force. In the immediate post-war era France produced a plethora of prototype aircraft, nearly all of which vanished without trace. One of those that made good was the Nord 2500, a cargo transport with the same twin-boom configuration as the American C-119, with the cockpit in the nose of a capacious nacelle. Like the US type, the rear doors were of the left/right clamshell type, so for air-dropping heavy loads they had to be removed before takeoff, causing turbulence and high drag. Despite this, the more powerful 2501 proved an excellent aircraft, produced in large numbers in France and Germany in a programme that led directly to the Transall, produced by the same partners, designed in 1959 and flown in 1962. Israel bought eight N.2501 IS direct from Nord in 1955-59, a further 12 from Germany in 1962, and four more later. The first, 4X-FAP, was delivered before the end of 1955, and immediately proved extremely popular and capable. Eight Nords had been purchased and these were used extensively to re-supply IDF columns in Sinai. To assist with these re-supply efforts other Nords were made available from the French Air Force and were requisitioned from Israeli Airline EL-AL which used them as freight transports. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Projet Noratlas.
