Streamlined panel for Grumman Goose G-21

File Description:
This panel streamlines the cockpit and virtual cockpit (VC) views in Lynn and Bill Lyons' Grumman Goose G-21 (cc9g21f2.zip). Why mess with perfection, you might ask? I like the Goose a lot: it's elegant, versatile, and has great views for VFR sightseeing. But on my system, the virtual cockpit's a bit sluggish. There's nothing wrong here with the airplane: it's just what happens when you try to run a complex piece of software on old hardware. Rather than give up, I decided to reduce the number of gauge objects, first in the cockpit (which I don't use very much anyway) and then in the virtual cockpit (which is where you should be flying this great old bird anyway). I also eliminated some of the hotspots. With fewer gauge objects, there are more system resources left over for the sim. The result, on my system, is smoother flying. While I was at it, I also replaced the magnetic compass with a VOR gauge. I know that's unrealistic, but that's what I did.

File Description:
FSX Mini Panel is intended to replace the global default Mini Panel. The panel is made up of good basic freeware flight instruments that can be used for any type of aircraft. This gives the pilot a common set of gauges to use on multiple aircraft. Additional navigation and control surfaces gauges are provided. Information is provided for wind direction, drift, ETA, ETE, direction, distance and name of the nearest airport; direction and distance to the next waypoint set in the GPS; and radar/absolute altitude. Lee Hetherington excellent TCAS gauge is also available. Karol Chlebowski's TFR gauge is included that allow flight at extremely low altitudes. Extensive tooltips have been provided on most gauges.

Finally, the "Perfect Landing" ? - Make It Into a Screen Saver!

File Description:
Just made the "perfect landing" and want to make a Screen Saver of it? The documents in this file will show you how to do it and where to download the required programs. It's easy and it's fun. Compiled by David "Opa" Marshall for your flying enjoyment. Tested in FS2004 and on an XPHome OS. Once again my thanks to the great folks in the Avsim General Duscussion Forum for pointing me in the right direction to find the proper programs to use. The program can be used to capture any portion of virtually any game (it is not limited to use in FS2004) and allow you to create a screen saver from your capture.

PMDG SIDSTARS Dallas Fort Worth Intl (KDFW)

File Description:
PMDG procedures file for Dallas Fort Worth Intl (KDFW) Cycle 0610 based on FAA NACO Digital Terminal Procedures data. Includes DPs (22 for turbojet, prop only excluded), STARs (9 for turbojet) and IAPs (24 ILS/RNAV/VOR). The STARs are enumerated for direction of landing, and four are further defined for landing runway for use in lieu of vectors to final in addition to landing direction (can be used with or without ATC). The text file header includes SID and STAR charts to assist in selection of procedure.
