| Antonov An-2 for AI Traffic Complete Package |
|
File Description:
Low-poly AI Antonov An-2 by Rysiek Winawer. Features 10 different visual, 7-LOD models, many animations and eye-candies. Flying on FDE by Mike 'Magic' MacIntyre. A paintkit by Mike Pearson included as well as 7 repaints. Expect military package(s), including the model, thanks to Military AI Works (MAIW) group members. A custom made Ketrzyn-Wilamowo EPKE scenery included, utilizing some EZ-Scenery library object (it will work without them though, an included AFCAD file and traffic BGL files are the most important).
Demo flightplans included. You may design own flightplans as well, using RPP_FPGen sheet.
The An-2 is the largest single-engine biplane ever produced. By 1960 the USSR had produced over 5,000 units. Since 1960, most An-2s have been built at Poland's WSK factory in Mielec, with over 13,000 made there before full production ended in 1991. Limited production from parts stocks, as well as spares and maintenance coverage continues. China also builds the An-2 under license as the Shijiazhuang Y-5.

| Steeple Morden |
|
File Description:
This FSX scenery package is for Former RAF Steeple Morden, USAAF Station No. 122. It includes the main airfield and 14 of the outlying sites
that housed all of the inhabitants. Built in 1940 , originally a grass satellite field of Bassingbourn, Steeple Morden first accommodated the RAF No. 11 and No. 17 OTU (Operational Training Unit), flying Vickers Wellingtons and Bristol Blenheims respectively. The RAF used the airfield from 1940 to July 9th of 1943.
In July of 1943, the RAF turned the base over to the 355th Fighter Group of the 8th USAAF and concrete runways and hard stands were added.
The 355th were famous for destroying more enemy aircraft on the ground than any other unit in the USAAF.
They were dubbed, "The Steeple Morden Strafers" and were comprised of the 354th (WR), 357th (OS) and 358th (YF) Fighter Squadrons.
Study of the site plans and other information revealed that RAF Steeple Morden was very much interwoven with the village of Litlington, Cambridgeshire .
The base may have well be called RAF Litlington instead of Steeple Morden.

It's a fully functional DEMO version of the commercial payware product. It features same airport layout as in the full version but with limited 3D objects and low resolution textures. Using this free demo ensures no problems with online (VATSIM, IVAO, multiplayer etc.) flying in case some users use the payware scenery and some don't.
Bornholm is an island located in the Baltic Sea 37 km south of Sweden and the north of Poland. Bornholm Airport (RNN / EKRN) is a Danish airport located 2.7 nautical miles (5 km) southeast of Ronne.
This product is equipped with an automatic installer, which means that the scenery will be automatically added to the Flight Simulator Scenery Library.

| DDA Douglas DC-4-1009 ZS-NUR/PH-DDS |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Re-upload. FSX/FS2004 DDA Douglas DC-4-1009 ZS-NUR/PH-DDS. This aircraft originally flew with South African Airways from 1946 till 1966, and a short interlude from 1968 till 1970, as ZS-AUA 'Tafelberg'. From 1966 till 1995 the DC-4 flew as a transport and later an electronics warfare aircraft with the South African Air Force, called 'Spook'. Its registration was 6901. In 1995 the aircraft was sold to Aero Air (Pty) Ltd as ZS-NUR. In 1995 the Dutch Dakota Association (DDA) purchased the ZS-NUR, christened 'Skymaster'. The DC-4 arrived at Amsterdam-Schiphol on 5 May 1996. In 1997 she was re-registered PH-DDS. Due to the extremely tight regulations in the Netherlands, the DC-4 returned to South Africa in 2002 as ZS-AUA on long-term lease, first to Springbok Flying Safaris, later on to Rovos Air where she is still current (2008). These are textures only. You will require Jens B. Kristensen's great Douglas DC-4 & C-54 (dc4_v21.zip). Original textures by Jens B. Kristensen. Repaints by Maarten Brouwer.

| NY3C - Taylor Field - Hammondsport, New York (Fictional ICAO) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The airport named Taylor Field (on 1970's sectional charts) is a small 1800' strip not shown in the stock FSX list of airports. There is no ICAO code or other designator I could find with extensive research. I used my own code of NY3C.
This is a part reality part historic scenery as it represents the modern day airport, the Glenn Curtiss Museum, and adjacent to the Airport a facsimile of the original horse racetrack that was used by Glenn Curtiss to fly his June Bug on July 4th 1908. It is a close As I can determine to the original spot using archival photos and conversations with the Director of the Curtiss Museum, Traff Doherty. Extensive use of new land class is also employed to give a better representation of the geographic area.
This will work with FSX stock scenery, but is designed with UTX (Flight One Software) in mind. It will work with ORBX Global and Global Vector as well. With these latter two there may be some missing roads but it won't affect the scenery.

| MRE Mara Serena, Kenya |
|
File Description:
Googly scenery for Mara Serena, Kenya, a small airfield serving the Mara Serena
Safari Lodge in the Masai Mara National park. The original metalled runway has
fallen into disuse and these days a rough dirt runway alongside it is used by
the twice daily flights of Air Kenya Express to and from Nairobi and the
occasional light aircraft.
Flight Simulator 2004 has made no provision for traffic with only a runway
provided and this scenery seeks to redress the situation. The airport has no
ICAO code (MRE is the IATA code) but Microsoft Flight Simulator has created an
unofficial ICAO of HK0A.
The scenery does not purport to be ultra-accurate. Based on high quality
satellite imagery from Google Earth, the layout is proportionally correct but the
added airport features, such as buildings, are built from default Microsoft objects
and add-on libraries so will not look exactly like the real thing.
You are not obliged to download and install any additional scenery libraries,
but to enjoy this scenery in its entirety, you may wish to. It will work fine,
with or without.

| USAF/MATS Convair CV-240 VBF |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
FS2004 USAF/MATS Convair CV-240 VBF in colors of 1952. The Convair with cn 264 was one of a bunch of T-29B-CO (CV-240-27) delivered to the U.S. Air Force September 16, 1952 and on July 15, 1953 assigned to the 1299 Transport Squadron of Military Air Transport Service (MATS). She was equipped with standard high density seating for staff transport and painted in the typically MATS livery of the early fifties. On July 13, 1956 she was converted to VC-131A standard and fitted with the weather mapping radar used extensively on the model CV-440 and on many CV-340 models. The last operator of this Convair was the 86th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Stuttgart (Germany). She came to AMARC on May 06, 1975 and was sold off for scrap on November 23, 1994. Textures and associated model file included only. Requires cv240VBFmilitary_basepack_010.ZIP. | YEVD Evans Head Memorial, Australia |
|
File Description:
Googly scenery for YEVD Evans Head Memorial, a former RAAF Training base in
New South Wales, Australia, now reduced to a single runway and small apron.
In its heyday it was home to the RAAF No 1 Bombing and Gunnery and the RAAF No 1
Air Observers Schools and it was said to be the largest training base in the
southern hemisphere - at that time it had four runways.
Flight Simulator 2004 has made no provision for traffic with only a runway
provided and this scenery seeks to redress the situation so that you and your
"AI" traffic can use the airport.
The scenery does not purport to be ultra-accurate. Based on high quality
satellite imagery from Google Earth, the layout is proportionally correct but the
added airport features, such as buildings, are built from default Microsoft objects
and add-on libraries so will not look exactly like the real thing.

| 13 Northern Ontario Airfields in Canada |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
These are 13 airfields in northwest Ontario, Canada. They were previously posted individually, but not on Avsim. There is a screenshot of Google Earth showing their names and locations. There are also updates to two previously posted airports, Red Lake CYRL and Sioux Lookout CYXL, and AI with the supply flights that are vital for these isolated outposts. Pickle Lake is a northern airfield that is connected to the rest of Canada by an all-weather road, and a large number of the supply flights originate from there. In fact these flights are the primary reason for the small towns existence. This will be followed by a posting of a similar number of northern Manitoba airfields. You may wonder about the numbers of fuel tanks at these airfields. These are not for the airfield use, they are for the settlement to be able to generate electricity and also to provide heating in the winter. If you find an error email me please, and note that my email address has been changed to rogwens at Gmail dot com.
