| Lindbergh's Flight to Paris |
|
File Description:
Mission: Lindbergh's flight across the Atlantic for FSX. I got inspired by watching the movie "The Spirit of St Louis" with James Stewart. Good movie. When FS9 was released, many historical aircraft were released along with it. Many of these aircraft were flown manually with no autopilot or way to speed up the flight process. No one was going to sit at the computer for 34 hours to fly to Paris in the Spirit of St Louis. The Spirit is still difficult to fly because of the weight of the fuel. I have provided the necessary panel.cfg and aircraft.cfg along with this mission to make it easier to cross the Atlantic. In order to have the full affect you will need some additional files which are not provided with this package. They are provided in other packages as well as some payware packages. You will need the Roosevelt field scenery from AVSIM ( http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=54574). You will need the Spirit of St Louis from FS9 with the attached upgraded panel.cfg and aircraft.cfg. You should have the simicons1024 package in your gauges directory. You should have the concord gauges in your gauges directory. (concord.gau)

| B-24 USAAF 801st PG "Black Zombie" |
|
File Description:
Wherever they were to be seen, the glossy black Consolidated B-24s of the 801st Provisional Group, based at Harrington in Great Britain, stood out like big full stops. The squadrons of this group dropped supplies and agents for the French Underground. They were known by the name 'Carpetbaggers'. This illustration is a machine of the 406th BS, one of the squadrons of the group.
This B-24H-15-CF, originally 'The Loretta Ann' of the 850th BS, 490th BG coded 'N-', transferred on 6th June 1944 to 391st BS, 34th BG coded 'I', and further transferred on 18th January 1945 to the 492nd BG 856th BS who sent it on detached service to the 406th BS(NL), NL being Night Leaflet. It survived the war and returned to the US, arriving on 11th July 1945. It was stored at Albuquerque from 10th August 1945 where it was later cut up for scrap. This particular aircraft was not a Carpetbagger per se and obviously wasn't engaged in agent or supply dropping but leaflet distribution over the Continent as the war ran down. In the early 1990s before the emergence of alliances British Airways bought a stake in US Air with the goal of improved connections and greater share of the internal US market. As a result of this three of US Air 767-200s were painted in British Airways livery, used the BA call sign "Speedbird" and had US Air crews trained to BA standards for three routes into LGW from BWI, CLT and PHL. Eventually the alliance collapsed and BA formed and alliance with American Airlines who are now ironically trying to merge with US Air's successor US Airways.

The Gimli Glider is the nickname of an Air Canada aircraft that was involved in a notable aviation incident in July 1983. On 23 July, Air Canada Flight 143, a Boeing 767-233 jet, ran out of fuel at an altitude of 41,000 feet (12,500 m) ASL, about halfway through its flight from Montreal to Edmonton via Ottawa. The crew was able to glide the aircraft safely to an emergency landing at Gimli Industrial Park Airport, a former Royal Canadian Air Force base in Gimli, Manitoba. The plane survived and flew for Air Canada until its retirement in 2008

| 2016 Kigali Intl (HRYR) Rwanda |

Images related to this file:
File Description:
This sequel to the 2009 Kigali Intl (HRYR) Rwanda scenery (by Jacques Botha and Frits Beyer) brings it up to date with the current layout and enables full compliance with FTX Global/Vector and FSX. Buildings are added and adjusted to their real-world locations, and the new taxiway and south apron are added according to the May 2016 satellite imagery. In addition to real-world gate locations, custom apron markings are added along with apron lighting. The landclass around Kigali is also updated, and SRTMGL1 (30m) mesh is included. This scenery can be complemented by the Goma (FZNA) and Gisenyi (HRYG) scenery (FSX_FZNA-HRYG_CS.zip), and GA flightplans are included to supplement the commercial traffic at Kigali and provide more activity at FZNA and HRYG.
Updates were created or rebuilt in a manner which carefully aligns airport data with current satellite imagery. Scenery was created using Airport Design Editor X v1.70.6042, SBuilderX 3.13, and the FSX Object Placement Tool. Scenery objects were added and modified from stock FSX scenery to resemble as closely as possible the actual airports. The FSX apron lights included are from the set created by Jim Dhaenens.
