File Description:
As most know the Approach and Final (VMC) for AI Traffic in FS9 is a straight in type landing and does not always consider high terrain at airports. This is do to the way that the coding is written in FS9 and it puts limits on IFR arriving aircraft. If you open runways at certain airports the AI Traffic will fly directly through a mountain once it is established on Final for a runway. What you will see with my file is a different type approach used for the way I control AI Traffic in FS9. No longer do the AI Planes use a straight in approach when landing to the west at PHNL. My new AI Aircraft Approach coding for FS9 now uses a base leg approach so AI Traffic does not fly through the mountains. The Honolulu Control Tower will clear all AI Traffic (IFR FP) landing either on 26L and 26R as a straight in landing even though the offset to final is 30 degrees from the runway center line. The Control Tower will instruct the AI Planes landing on either 22L or 22R to fly a left base leg which is greater then a 45 degree offset and then the AI Planes will turn on a short 1.5 mile final. The left base approach to 22L and 22R runways is a 65 degree offset from the runway center line. My testing shows excellent behavior of the FS9 default models, PAI models and the Aardvark planes of all sizes to execute this new type of visual approach that I am now writting code for which supersedes the FS9 default straight in ATC hard code approach. File Description: This is the long awaited update to our original Thames Estuary scenery.
Version 1 is still available, but this is also 'stand alone' (version 1 not
needed)
Works with both FS9 and FSX. Seperate FSX version to follow.
Thames estuary airport is a possible new feature to the compilation of UK
airports. Using the concept images on the net, we have made the airport for FS9.
Please note that this is a very large airport and may not be suitable for slower
computers.
There have been plans since 1943 to build a new airport for London at various
locations around the Thames Estuary. The proposal was revived in 2008 by the
Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, and has acquired the nickname "Boris Island".

| Kona at Keahole International Airport PHKO |

File Description:
This is a completely new Kona, which is now more correctly laid out and very detailed. This is one of the most unique and beautiful airports in the world. It resembles a Hawaiian Village and Botanic garden combined, and is completey open air. The airport is built on old lava flows, and the terminal area is full of lava rock walls, which was probably mined while constructing the taxiways, tarmacs, and terminal itself. This scenery redoes the entire airport, and includes details like baggage carrousels, benches at the gate areas, check-in counters, parking lot shelters, and some purple baggage carts to go with the Island atmosphere. Since this airport has no jetways, I have created some new lower impact air stairs, and have positioned them around the two main gate areas. There is also a large air stair at each gate area to accommodate heavy jetliners. The unique ramp lights found at this airport are also included as well as some interesting night lit ramp textures. It has not been tested in FS2002.

UPDATED KIAH see the readme file -- By design KIAH is now another Airport that features advanced ATC control. As most know initiating the ILS at certain airports for AI Traffic is not a function at this time when using AFCAD2. If you add a new ILS runway to an airport such as KIAH (8L/26R) only the user aircraft can use this runway when visibility falls below 3 miles. ATC will no longer use this runway for AI Traffic because FS9 sees it as a visual runway. This will cause ATC to vector your AI Traffic back to 8/26 (old numbers) 8R/26L (new numbers) which is also a Terminal Departure Runway. All 5 runways for KIAH are now simultaneously active for departure and arrival. There are many additional options added to version 2.0 so follow the instructions in the README and just sit back (or fly) and plane spot either VMC or IMC for a very active airport. *** SimFlyers Scenery AFCAD2 and special ILS bgl also included ***
