Martinair "Biafra" Douglas DC-6A Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:

On 13 December 1966 the Dutch charter company Martinair Holland (MAC), proud owner of a fleet of four Douglas C-47, a Douglas C-54B, two Convair 640, and four Douglas DC-7C aircraft, bought a Douglas DC-6A registered PH-MAM. The DC-6A, which at one time belonged to KLM and could transport 11 tons payload or 97 passengers, was aquired in order to replace the smaller C-54B PH-MAE. It was a very popular aircraft among crew and passengers alike. From the late October 1968 till the beginning of January 1970, PH-MAM flew on the Biafra airlift from the island of Fernando Po to Uli airstrip to provide humanitarian aid, on behalf of the Dutch Red Cross. Having returned from this mission, the aircraft was overhauled and used by Martinair for one more year, before being sold to Yugoslavia. The inspiration for this repaint was a coincidental meeting at Schiphol I had many years ago with former Martinair Captain Dries van Ommen. He was in command of PH-MAM during the Biafra airlift. We had a nice conversion, accompanied by the impressive sight and sound of a DC-6 during take off. These are textures only. You will need California Classic's FS2004/FSX Douglas DC-6B CB-16 Base Pack, DC-6A CB-17 Base Pack and DC-6A CB-16 Base Pack (available at http://www.calclassic.com/dc6b.htm). Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.

For FS2004 and FSX.

Global Airways Douglas C-54 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The repaint features Global Airways' N79000, an early production Douglas C-54 (c/n 3058) built at the Douglas factory at Santa Monica, CA, and delivered to the USAAF on February 8, 1943 as 41-37272. In 1946 the Civil Aviation Administration took her over as NC79000. Having been converted to DC-4 standard, she was bought on April 11, 1951 by Eastern Air Lines as N79000 '721'. In May 1955 she was sold and served many users such as Northwest, Transocean and World. In 1960 California Airmotive became the owner of the C-54. During September and October 1960 the C-54 was leased by Global Airways, a company based in Philadelphia, PA, from 1946 to around 1960. (founded by Simon Bolnick and Joseph Raphael; passenger charter operations included fishing and hunting charters to Canada.) In May 1961 the C-54 was sold as D-ADAM to Continentale in Germany. Already in December 1962 Continentale went bankrupt and the aircraft was stored in the open at Hamburg. In July 1963 Aviation Traders (Engineering) Ltd purchased the C-54 for conversion to Carvair car-ferry aircraft. As it turned out, the condition of the C-54 was extremely poor (corrosion on many places on the wing spars) so makeshift repairs were done before the aircraft was ferried to Stansted for its rebuild to Carvair G-ASKN.

Textures only. You will need Jens Kristensen's FS2004 Douglas DC-4 & C-54 (DC4_V30.ZIP). Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.

Beech King Air 200 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Beechcraft King Air 200 for FS9 This is a series of repaints for Dee Waldron's King Air 200. I have recently revised the textures, adding details and shadowing thanks to Henry Tomkiewicz' AI paint kits. There are 11 repaints in this file. Screen shots are enclosed. I have also included a paint kit. The visual model, aircraft configuration file and air files are included. This aircraft, and other members of the King Air family are projects Dee and I worked together on some years ago. The textures are newly refreshed. I have many hours happily flying these aircraft. Dee's model is very sparing of resources. This aircraft can be used for AI and can be flown as well. As far as panels and sounds, I've left this to the user. The stock Microsoft King Air is an obvious starting point. Pierre Fasseux has designed three alternatives to the default panel, which represent a better choice. Leon Medado has created a very good freeware alternative to the default sounds. These are all available in the Flightsim.com library. Instructions: Unzip into a separate folder. Move the folder named labeled Dee Waldron King Air 200 into your FS9 folder. Use it as an AI aircraft or add panel and sound of your choice if you wish to fly it. These files are provided on an as-is basis. I have tested them and have found them to work as intended. Michael Verlin [email protected] January 27, 2015

Boeing B-17G 91st BG (LL-B) "General Ike" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17G 42-97061 LL-B General Ike" of the 401st BS/ 91st BG based in Bassingbourne UK. One of the more well known B-17's of the 91st BG, was originally assigned to the 457th BG, but came to the 91st after only 3 days there, on the 16th March 1944. The aircraft was christened by Genral Eisenhower himself, when he visited the 91st BG on 11 April 1944. The noseart was painted by Cpl. Tony Starcer, with the lettering being done by Cpl. Elvis White. Both artists signed their work, though Cpl White's name later disappeared from the aircraft. Eisenhower liked the painting, but remarked to Cpl Starcer that his eyes were not blue-grey at all. "General Ike" survived the war and returned to Kingman Az, where she was scrapped. On its 65th mission, prop 3 started windmilling and sheared off, hitting the fuselage just below the co-pilots feet, but the only damaged was to the noseart, which was quickly repainted by Cpl Starcer. "General Ike" flew many missions as lead ship, because, as Capt John Davis said after returning from its 21st mission: "She's a mighty sweet plane, not too hot or fast, she moves steadily along. You don't want a fast aircraft for group lead."Ike" gets you over the target and brings you back again", which she did, again and again until the end of the war. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

79C - Brennand Airport - Neenah, Wisconsin - USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Well this is my 1st attempt at creating/editing an airport so be gentle. I created all the models in sketchup and used ADE to compile the airport. All you should have to do is unzip it and place it with your other add-on scenery and activate it in P3D. This is for P3D V2 only at the moment. When I get a chance I'll get an FSX version done if anyone wants it.

Brennand Airport (79C) located about 4 miles southwest of Neenah WI. This airport is between KATW and KOSH. Brennand has had new ownership since 2013 and they have made many improvements in that time to 79C. So I went out there and took lots of pictures to create what I have for us now. They have built a new building and hangar which I have added along with all the other building on the airport grounds. The runway has been widened from 20 feet to 30 feet and they added PAPI lights on both runways 18 and 36 all of which I have included. I have changed the grass parking areas to reflect the way they are currently set up. (For fun parking area 8 is in the EAA Chapter 41 hangar (Hangar 11) with the door open so you can taxi out of the hangar. Now just need to figure out how to animate the hangar door).

Compatible with P3D v2 ONLY. FSX version may follow later.

Deering PADE in Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Deering is a coastal village around 55 miles southwest of Kotzebue, living from fishing and the land and with a population of around 130. The airfield is inland from the coast and has two gravel runways, 11-29 of just under 3,000 feet and 2-20 of 3,700 feet; the US is the only country that names runways with single numerals, hence 2-20 that in Canada would be 02-20. And Canada, which is a metric country and gives speed limits on roads in kilometres per hour, flies in feet and not metres for runway lengths and flight levels. The two runways could have something to do with there being a National Guard Armoury in the village, and perhaps personnel being flown in for exercises in the local countryside. Apart from the airfield itself, and it's buildings, this scenery modifies the local (mostly treeless) land class, reduces the village size to reality, and creates a new airfield background. Bering Air flies into Deering from Kotzebue and is included in the AI. A note here about my scenery making. This is post number 504 and there will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes. There is a limit to what can be located online and I have already been making use of the little there is; eg Unalakleet. So, if you are near an airport (preferably Canadian or Alaskan) and have a camera..... Let me know.

CYFD Brantford Municipal Airport, Ontario, Canada Version 1.0 Download

File Description:
I decided to make Brantford a little more like the real thing. I also changed the landclass in the area to make it more realistic as this is where I live. Here are the changes I have made. -- Modified the airport in AFCAD2 to have the aircraft park on either side of the large apron as they do in real life , Corrected the runway lengths and added the connector between the runway ends at the north side of the airport , Added AI Flightplans (see details below) , Added a landclass update so that the area appears as it does in real life. There are now more farms around the airport as well as in the Burford area. The towns of Burford (my hometown) and Scotland are added, the Long Point Conservation Authority Forest is added to the west of Burford, and the Burford Golf Links appear beside the 403 (divided highway) to the north west of town. --AI Flightplans I tried to make the AI traffic as realistic as possible. I have training aircraft doing touch and goes 7 days a week. A few DC-3's have been restored at the airport so I have a DC-3 that flies for testflights on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7am to 12:30pm. A learjet flies to Chicago on business days. It departs at 8am and arrives at 1:59pm. Also, a 182 flies up to Timmins on the weekends. It departs on Saturday at 9am and arrives home on Sunday at 11:36am.

FSX/P3D Aloha Airlines DC-3 circa 1958 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the DC-3 in Aloha Airlines colors. The freeware DC-3/C-47 v3 by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Aloha was founded in 1946 under the name of Trans Pacific Airways. With a single DC-3, they offered passenger charter and cargo services between the islands of Oahu, Maui and Hawaii. On February 11 1949 they officially became a scheduled service airline. Their main rival was Hawaiian Airlines, and in 1957 they changed their name to Aloha Airline to better compete against Hawaiian. In 1959 a modern F-27 joined the fleet, which forced the retirement of Aloha's aging DC-3 fleet by the mid 1960s. They also introduced the Viscount 745D in June 1961. BAC-111s were acquired in 1966. However, the British made airliners had limitations in the very humid environment of Hawaii, and in 1967 Aloha ordered 2 Boeing 737-200s with a further 6 in 1968 to replace the BAC-111s. The 737s were destined to become the workhorse of the airline, with over 60 being used by Aloha over the years. Their iconic "Flower Power" livery was unveiled in 1969, and was reintroduced in 2006 on one of their 737 as a retro livery. Due to heavy financial problems caused by various factors, Aloha unfortunately ceased operations on March 31 2008. This DC-3, N2804D, was leased by Aloha in the late 1950s. Textures are DDS DXT5. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX & P3D v1-3.
