RAF Driffield

File Description:
The site was first opened in 1918 by the Royal Air Force (RAF) under the name of RAF Eastburn, before closing in early 1920. However, in 1935 a new airfield was built for the RAF initially training bomber crews before closing in 1977 when the site was turned over to the Army for use as a driving school being renamed Alamein Barracks.

The army used Driffield as a driver training centre, until RAF Leconfield (which was also taken over by the Army in 1977) was enlarged to accommodate those who lived and trained at Driffield. In 1992, the RAF regained ownership of this historic aerodrome, naming it: RAF Staxton Wold – Driffield Site. Once again, the RAF ensign flew over Driffield, but not for long. In 1996, the RAF itself transferred its own personnel and facilities to RAF Staxton Wold, thus bringing an end to 60 years of service. On 28 June 1996, the RAF ensign was lowered for the last time, bringing to an end RAF Driffield. It is used as a CTC (cadet training centre) for army cadets and houses 873 Driffield Squadron air training corps

RAF Attlebridge - Norwich, Norfolk, England

File Description:
RAF Attlebridge is a former Royal Air Force station located near Attlebridge and 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Norwich, Norfolk, England. RAF Attlebridge was an early wartime station, laid out for use by No. 2 Group RAF light bombers, and was completed in August 1942. The airfield was used by No. 88 Squadron RAF from August 1941 to September 1942 using Bristol Blenheim IVs and Douglas Bostons. The Station had runways of 1,220, 1,120 and 1,080 yards length but, when the base was earmarked for USAAF use, these were extended and the airfield was enlarged to meet heavy bomber requirements. The main E-W runway was increased to 2,000 yards and the others to 1,400 yards each. The perimeter track was also extended and the number of hardstands was increased to fifty. In enlarging the airfield, several small, country roads were closed in the parish of Weston Longville, in which the larger part of the airfield was sited. RAF Attlebridge was assigned to the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) Eighth Air Force's 2nd Bomb Wing on 30 September 1942. It was given USAAF designation Station 120.

F-51D West Virginia ANG

File Description:
Repaint of the A2A WWII P-51D Mustang as F-51D-30-NT 45-11582 using John Terrell's excellent paint kit. This aircraft was one of the last batches of P-51D's delivered to the USAAF before the close of WWII. After an uneventful post-war career its final allocation was to the 167th Fighter Bomber Squadron West Virginia ANG at Kanawaha County, West Virginia in 1953. It was withdrawn fron ANG service in December 1956 and transferred to the California Air Material Area in Sacramento. It was sold to Ed Maloney November 1957 and registered N5441V. It was one of the founding aircraft of the 'Planes of Fame' museum in Chino CA and has been in near constant use since then. It has been adorned with a variety of liveries during this time and currently flies as a 334th FS 4th FG Mustang flown by Major James 'Goody' Goodson in 1944. It has for many years been affectionately known as 'Spam Can' This repaint is based on a photograph of the aircraft in near-derelict condition carrying 2 small practice bombs, probably taken at Sacremento in 1957 before disposal. It therefore represents Spam Can in her final days in active USAF service.

Flight dynamics update V1.0 for FS2004 Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker By Mike Stone Dynamics only, Original aircraft available at: http://www.pmstone.com/ Note: both these dynamics AND the real plane do NOT have thrust reversers. It seems the USAF did not want them on their plane, despite the availability on that engine model. Anyway, don't use the thrust reverse. A friend who's recently posted to a KC-135 squadron recently asked me to tweek the layout of the fuel tanks on Mike Stone's freeware KC-135. What I thought would be a very simple edit ended up being a full blown project that transformed how the model flies, and what kinds of payload configurations are possible. For instance, the KC can carry either internal fuel bladders in the main cargo bay, along with full wing and fuselage fuel, or it can take reduced fuel load and take on a fair amount of cargo pallets. My edits will allow you to choose one or the other, but it's defaulting to a air refueling mission that it sees more commonly. Once on my way, I requested and received permission from Mike Stone to share this edited dynamics, which I'm doing right now. Enjoy!

Lucky Partners Boeing B-17G

File Description:
This is a repaint (textures only) for the Donationware B-17G Late from FighterTown Design Group. You can get it here for a great price!! www.donationware.net Thank you FDG for providing this great plane!! Special thanks go to Jarink, who is a repainter in IL-2/PF. Jarink was kind enough to send me his layered photoshop files of the Noseart that I used for these repaints. I also used his repaints as a guide for my repaints. This texture represents "Lucky Partners" from the 710th Bomb Squadron, 447th Bomb Group. Lucky Partners had been known to have been a part of the 447th, based on a few photographs taken at Rattlesden during the spring of 1945. Yet the actual identify of the aircraft remained in question. The nose panel now preserved in Kingman had been cut below the location of the factory-painted serial number, and the existing photos showed that the name "Lucky Partners" had been painted over the last three (and most significant) digits of that serial number. It was originally named Little Herbie by the Hoffman crew, but did not bear any name or nose art until much later, when its name changed to Lucky Partners.

JASDF Flight Check aircraft where painted with ref to photos i could find,on airliners.net,and a web site for JASDF aircraft,the textures have been updated to the correct colour shade of red,thanks to Esa Kaihlanen of AFG,in order for me to correct some details i had wrong. also thanks go to Esa of AFG,for pointing me to the correct web site with JASDF squadron details. The aircraft will show in fs9 as [Japan air force 151 V2.7] [Japan air force 154 V2.7]and [Japan air force 160 V2.7]. File Description: Representative scenery of RAF Little Rissington in Gloucestershire. RAF Little Rissington (ICAO: EGVL) is an RAF aerodrome and former RAF station in Gloucestershire, England. It was once home to the Central Flying School, the Vintage Pair and the Red Arrows. Built during the 1930s, the station was opened in 1938 and closed in 1994. The married-quarters and main technical site were sold in 1996 (the former becoming the village of Upper Rissington), but the aerodrome has been retained by the Ministry of Defence and remains active along with the southern technical sites, under the operational control of No.2 Flying Training School at RAFC Cranwell. It is now home to 637 Volunteer Gliding Squadron as the primary military unit, who provide elementary flying training for Combined Cadet Force and Air Training Corps cadets. The airfield is also used by the forces as a relief landing ground, training area and parachute dropping area. In previous years, the Royal Air Force estate has been used as a film set, including The Avengers, part of the ice chase in Die Another Day, and the Thunderbirds film. File Description: FS2004 Lockheed EP-3E Aries II, a turboprop-based signals reconnaissance aircraft, operated by the United States Navy. It is based on a Lockheed P-3 Orion airframe, which is in turn based on the Lockheed L-188 Electra passenger airliner. There are eleven EP-3Es in the Navy's inventory, the last of which was delivered in 1997. A total of twelve P-3C aircraft were converted to replace older versions of the aircraft, which had been converted in the late 1960s and early 1970s. On April 1, 2001, an EP-3E (PR-32) was intercepted by Chinese F-8 fighter jets about 70 miles off the Chinese island of Hainan. One of the Chinese jets bumped the wing of the EP-3E, which was forced to make an emergency landing in China. VQ-1 provides electronic reconnaissance from the east coast of Africa to the west coast of the United States. The squadron maintains a permanent detachment in Misawa Japan and has maintained a continuous presence in the Arabian Gulf since July 1992. The model is the seventh P3 series aircraft by Team FS KBT.
