Tips and Tricks - Number 7. This issue contains some VERY important information for anyone who "collects" scenery as well as an explanation of an error message we see from time to time. For anyone wanting to learn more about the use of "mesh", an excellent resource link is listed. An assortment of other tips, tricks and recommendations are included as usual - a little something for everyone. Some of these items have come from readers of this series and I thank them all. UPDATE 2 for Magnetic Compass gauge with selectable DIGITAL display. In response to several requests, I have added code to the mag_compass.CAB file which will allow the Compass face to be lighted at night when cockpit lights are on. As this file contains only the replacement.cab file, no editing of any panel.cfg files where you have installed the Compass with Digital display is required. The installation of the original package - Digital_Compass.zip - is necessary. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the simple installation instructions. UPDATE for Magnetic Compass gauge with selectable DIGITAL display. I just discovered that I failed to include instructions in the original documentation which will allow the user to choose two other display options. This update (a short text file) will explain how to easily change the display to one of three slightly different versions. I apologize for the oversight. The installation of the original package - Digital_Compass.zip - is required.

| Airport ID Gauge - UPDATE |

File Description:
At the request of several users, I have edited the xml script for the Airport ID gauge to make the displayed text more easily read. Instead of a Green ICAO code and Red airport name and city, the text is now all Green. Also the icon has been changed to black and white so it blends with the other default icons. This is just a replacement cab file so no further editing to what you may have already installed is necessary however a previous installation of Airport_ID.zip is required. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the very simple installation instructions. Compiled for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

Creating Fuel Triggers in FS2004 - an Illustrated Tutorial. Having enough fuel is critical to the succesful completion of any flight. This tutorial will show you how to create invisible Fuel Trigger areas which can be used at any airport. When you place your aircraft in one of the trigger areas (a gate or fueling station) your tanks will be automatically filled. All required files are included and no programming knowledge is needed. The excellent Stearman/Eagle Field package (stear04.zip from Flightsim.com) has an error in the Traffic file which prevents one of the two Bi-Wing Stearman Kaydet aircraft from displaying. Abbreviated Brake and Overspeed Messages. If you find the red reminder messages about Brakes and Overspeed intrusive, this package contains revised language.dlls which will abbreviate these messages and/or remove the Overspeed message entirely. These files are an expansion of the modifications originally done in 2005 by Brent Hricziscse - braketext.zip. That file is not required. This file modification will ONLY work with the ENGLISH version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the very easy instructions.
