| Find The Tanker - Fixed FLT file |
|
File Description:
I am afraid that I did a mistake in my previous upload: The .FLT file refers to a location that was for development only. Thanks to the gurus at fsxmission.com the modified FLT file in this archive should fix the issue.
Sorry for that ...

| Flight to the Mayan Curse "Hondo" |
|
File Description:
"AT 8:45 PM the land slided inward for more than 3 minutes. It felt like if everything was being sucked down to the bowels of the earth." Gonzalo Carnesco told the chief of police near the town of Pallasco in the central mountains of Honduras.---Dr. Giulio Ranzetti of the Roman-Mayan Institute of Mysterious Civilizations knew he had to go to "Hondo" for he was sure
he had read, many years ago while exploring the Honduran Jungles, the incredible Mayan Prediction of the "End" as they
called the fracture of the earth. This seemed pretty near to that prediction.
Now you come in......Dr. Ranzetti has hired you to fly him and his two women assistants to the emergency camp near the huge hole, now known as "Hondo". From there you will take the small one man helicopter and fly into the "hole" and take samples and photos of the incredible situation....If you get out of there alive, he is to be flown back to Tegucigalpa where he and his assistants
will fly back to Rome and maybe with the ported evidence...unriddle this riddle.

| Working TACAN Beacons in the UK |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Working TACAN Beacons in the UK: In real-life TACAN beacons require a TACAN receiver to receive the course (OBS) information of the beacon. With a civil VOR/DME receiver you only receive the distance (DME) to the beacon. The problem in FS is that there are no dedicated TACAN gauges, so it's not possible to perform TACAN approaches, because this requires course information of the beacon. To overcome this problem i've modified the TACAN beacons in the UK so you can fully use them with civil receivers. And so are able to fly TACAN approaches. For charts how to fly the TACAN approaches see (procedure section) http://www.cenor.org/ (reupload) by Marcel Ritzema

| The Most Dangerous Airports: Lukla V2 |

File Description:
Approach to Lukla V2 (Totally New Mission)
You are a very experienced pilot flying the Twin Otter for Yeti Airlines on an imaginary flight to and from Lukla. Take-off from Biratnagar airport VNVT climb to at least 13500 ft to WP1 Turn to Lukla. From WP1 carefully descent to 10000 ft (there should be cloud to make it more difficult, if you have some sort of weather add-on running) to WP2 Approach to VNLK, after passing through the gate turn sharp right and land at Lukla airport, remember that the runway has an incline of several degrees. Turn around and take-off again, stay on the runway and rotate just before the end of the runway. Follow the valley back to the south until you are able to track the VOR 112.30 at roughly 276°, till you reach Kathmandu Intl Airport and land. Yes, it sounds easy, butâ¦ find out for yourself.

| Douglas VC-118-DO 'The Independence' |
|
File Description:
This Douglas VC-118-DO was the personal aircraft of President Harry S. Truman. It was named 'The Independence' after President Truman's home town in Missouri. The aircraft was delivered on 1 July 1947 and served from 4 July 1947 on as a presidential aircraft till 1953 when Gen. Dwight Eisenhower became President of the USA. It seems that the rather special paint job was based on an idea by President Truman himself. 46-0505 served on as a general VIP transport till 1966 when it was donated to the Smithonian Institute for preservation. It is on loan to the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.'The Independence' could accommodate for 24 day or 12 sleeper passengers (in the main cabin). It had a luxurious State Room aft of the passenger door. Usually there was a crew of eight. It is featured here in its original tan, blue and metal livery. You will require Jens B. Kristensen's great FS2004 Douglas DC-6 (early version) (dc6_v20.zip). Original textures by Jens B. Kristensen. Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.

| Chelsea Dams on the Gatineau River |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The Chelsea Dams are on the Gatineau River, just north of Rockcliffe airfield. I have used the plural as while there is only one dam as such, there is a second generating station just south of the dam; so "it" is more generally called "the Chelsea Dams". The dams mark the point where, if you are flying south down the Gatineau River towards Rockcliffe, you should be either below 1,500 feet or talking to the Ottawa control tower. While not a reporting point as noted in the supplement notes about flying vfr in the Ottawa area the dams are still the natural reporting point when approaching Rockcliffe and announcing landing intentions. Plus they are a visible landmark from way off, so here they are.

| Guidelines on Flying the Flight1 Mustang |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This Guidelines document complements Flight1's Citation Mustang Pilot's Guide in two ways: (1) Explains how principal automated flight and navigation controls work in conjunction with one-another; and (2) Describes when a particular pilot procedure should be used--what is 'good practice'? This guide provides an overall orientation to Garmin's G1000 panel, including associated AFCS (autopilot) and MFD Controller (FMS) functions. Note: These guidelines are intended to be used in conjunction with Kurt Kalbfleisch's Mustang Tutorial also available in the Avsim Library.
