RAF Swinderby - 1990 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This scenery represents RAF Swinderby as it was during 1990. Swinderby was the entrance point for all non-commisioned ranks following their entry into the Royal Air Force, where they spent six weeks undertaking basic training. It was also home to the Chipmunks of the Elementary Flying Training School, where prospective pilots were sent to give them 15 hours introductory flying training before being put into mainstream training. The station was closed in 1993 and now only the flying side of the station exists as warehousing and storage. Also included are 7 repaints of Mike Cronin's de Havilland Chipmunk in the colours of the EFTS, plus representative flightplans. The scenery has been constructed using objects mainly from MAIW sceneries, which will need to be installed in order to gain the full visual experince.

EGDG - RAF St. Mawgan - Newquay, Cornwall - UK Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Representative scenery of RAF. St. Mawgan in Cornwall. Opened as a civilian airfield in 1933, it was requistioned by the Royal Air Force in 1939. After use as a satellite field, it was taken over by Coastal Command in 1951 and since has been connected with that particular role, having Shackelton, Canberra, Wessex and Nimrod all flying from there at one point or another. The airfield is now home to the RAF SERE training unit. The bulk of the airfield was handed over to civilian use in 2008. This scenery has been made using various scenery libraries, mainly from MAIW. Full listing in the docs.

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This scenery represents RAF Benson as it was in the early 1970s. It is built, in the main with third-party library objects, along with some custom-built elements by John Young. It has been set up to use John Young's AI RAF Argosy C1 (JYAI_Argosies_FS9_1.zip and JYAI_Argosies_FSX_1.zip at flightsim.com) and a traffic file is included to do that.

RAF Machrihanish - 1990 Download

Images related to this file:

McDonnell-Douglas MD-8X Pratt & Whitney JT8D-217 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This sound is intended for use on Eric Cantu's models only! They will not work properly on any other model (I will be making updates to make the sounds work on other models eventually). I am proud to present to you the most realistic and detailed MD-8X Pratt & Whitney JT8D-217 turbofan soundpack for FS2004, that was ever made! I have put ALOT of time and effort into this work, and it is perhaps my most detailed and realistic sounding soundset to date! It features all the usual features that come with my sounds, such as the realistic engine spool up, and other stuff. There are 3 versions included in this package: (Default) Rear Passenger Cabin Perspective, Cockpit Perspective, Cockpit Perspective (for Lonny Payne's Flightdeck: MD-80 Panel only). There are instructions provided in the sound folder on how to switch the sound.cfgs to the version you want. I am sure that if you are a frequent MD-80 Flyer, or if you're a pilot or flight crew onboard an MD-80 aircraft that you'll pretty impressed by these sounds. But if you don't like these sounds, just simply delete the file and try another soundpack. But you should try this one first, it's absolutely worth it! I doubt anyone will be deleting these sounds after hearing them.

RAF Tornado GR and RAF Honington base 1990 Download

File Description:
Our second package represents RAF Honington, in Suffolk during 1990. It was here that aircrew who had successfully negotiated the TTTE were trained in the fine art of ground attack techniques, or “mud-moving”. It was also the home to the first GR.1As, which was the UK reconnaissance version; these were given to No. 13 Squadron, who still operates the GR.4A from RAF Marham. The flight plans are totally fictional, but the movements reflect the type of operation carried out by the units.

RAF Chivenor 1979-1992 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Originally a civil airfield opened in the 1930s, the site was taken over by the Royal Air Force in May 1940 for use as a Coastal Command Station, and was known as RAF Chivenor. After the Second World War, the station was largely used for training, particularly weapons training. During the 1960s, one of the RAF's Tactical Weapons Units (TWU) used Hawker Hunter aircraft for training. In 1974 the station was left on "care and maintenance", though No. 624 Volunteer Gliding Squadron continued to fly from there. The TWU returned, flying BAE Hawks, in 1979 and 1981. In 1994, the TWU left Chivenor, merging with No. 4 Flying Training School at RAF Valley, and the airfield was handed over to the Royal Marines.

This scenery includes all the Hawk aircraft of 2 TWU in both camouflage and air defence grey schemes, depending on your preferred choice. There are flightplans included, which are representative only, but enables the aircraft to fly to bases and checkpoints around the country.
The scenery has been constructed using objects mainly from MAIW sceneries, which will need to be installed in order to gain the full visual experience. With BIG thanks to Nick Black for the use of his superb AI Hawk, and to Chris A. Brown for paintin' 'em!

RAF Brawdy 1979-1992 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
In September of 1974, No. 229 Operational Conversion Unit moved to Brawdy after the closure of RAF Chivenor. This unit was later renamed No.1 Tactical Weapons Unit, and became one of two TWU's equipped with the Hawk trainer. The Hawk and Hunter equipped Nos. 79 and 234 Squadrons. There were also some unique Jet Provosts present as well. The Camouflaged T Mk 4 JP's provided Forward Air Controller training for both the fast jet trainees and for army controllers. The Hunters were retired by mid-1984, and the Jet Provosts had gone by the end of the 80s.
RAF Brawdy was itself laid to rest by the Royal Air Force, who moved out the Hawks during 1994 and had relocated to RAF Leeming. Brawdy was passed over to the army and renamed Cawdor Barracks.

This scenery includes all the Hawk aircraft of 1 TWU in both camouflage and air defence grey schemes, depending on your preferred choice. There are flightplans included, which are representative only, but enables the aircraft to fly to bases and checkpoints around the country.
I have also included flighplans for the RAF Hawker Hunter model by John Young (acg_hunters_raf_9.zip from flightsim.com), to be used in conjunction with the camouflaged Hawks.
The scenery has been constructed using objects mainly from MAIW sceneries, which will need to be installed in order to gain the full visual experience. A BIG thanks to Nick Black for the use of his superb AI HAwk, and to Chris A. Brown for paint' 'em!

Sembach Air Base 1990 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This scenery is a representation of Sembach Air Base in the former West Germany during 1990. At the time, Sembach was host to the 66th Electronic Combat Wing, which was responsible for the home-based EC-130H "Compass Call" aircraft of the 43rd Electronic Combat Squadron, and also had in-direct control of the 42nd Electronic Combat Squadron based at RAF Upper Heyford in the U.K. flying the Grumman EF-111A Raven. The 66th ECW moved into Sembach during 1986, and spent the next six years flying from there. The role of the aircraft was electronic disruption of enemy radio and radar transmissions, to limit the enemies ability to co-ordinate their own forces and also the transmission of propaganda in an attempt to win hearts and minds. Sembach was also known as Det.1 of the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing, based at the Twin Bases complex of RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters. The A-10A's of the six squadrons there would regularly deploy to Sembach and other Forward Operating Locations (FOLs) within West Germany, which was a part of their war-time role. Included in this package are repaints of all six EC-130H's present at Sembach as of April 1990.
