| Rae Lakes CYRA at Gameti in the Northwest Territories, Canada |

File Description:
Gameti is a village in the Northwest Territories, around 65 miles north of Whati which was recently posted. Until 2005 the village, which has a population of around 280, was known as Rae Lakes and the airfield is now renamed Gameti/Rae Lakes as shown in the 2010 version of the Nav Canada Flight Supplement, my standard reference year. Permanent settlement was established there in 1965. There is no all-weather road access and the village is reliant upon the airfield for supplies, along with an ice road in the winter months. The airfield is a mile or so east of the village, with a lit gravel runway of just over 3,000 feet aligned 14-32 and with PAPI at both ends. The airfield is served by Air Tindi from Yellowknife on an almost daily basis, included in the AI here along with some GA and a Friday delivery by a Buffalo DC3 that uses all of the runway. The runway has lake water at each end, ready for the unwary. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.

Another selection in my Airstrips of Western Europe project, herewith 80+ small airfields in central Germany, each enhanced with taxiways, parking spaces, buildings etc. and aprons as appropriate, to further facilitate the generation of lightweight AI traffic in the area, without overloading the more major airfields.
Again, there's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. These buildings have minimal effect on frame-rates, so are ideal for this kind of job. The airfields are aligned as well as possible with the roads etc. in UT Europe and the Genesis Europe mesh, but should mostly be fine in a default installation or other configuration.
As before, the files for each airfield can be easily identified by the ICAO code, even if the airfield names vary slightly, so you can pick and choose and mix and match to suit any sceneries you already have, should you so wish. There is no requirement for any other download. Each airfield will exist as a stand-alone entity should you only want a few of them.

File Description:
Downsview Airport or Toronto/Downsview Airport, (IATA: YZD, ICAO: CYZD), is located in Toronto, Ontario and has been exclusively used and owned as a testing facility by Bombardier Aerospace since 1994. Downsview Airport has its own fire service (Bombardier Emergency Services) which covers airport operations (using two airport fire rescue vehicles) and plant operations (using two SUV emergency vehicles). Bombardier Emergency Services employs robust employees who are trained as fire fighters, paramedics, and as peace officers (despite being a private airport, its security force is sworn in as Peace Officers per Canadian Airport Standards as well as being sworn fire fighters under the authority of the Ontario Fire Marshall).
The Downsview Airport was developed in 1939 as an airfield next to an aircraft manufacturing plant operated by de Havilland Canada. In 1947, the Department of National Defence purchased property surrounding the airfield and expanded it, creating RCAF Station Downsview to provide an air base for Royal Canadian Air Force units. The base was renamed Canadian Forces Base Toronto (Downsview) in 1968 and retained this name until its closure in 1994.
Since 1998, the property has been administered by a civilian Crown corporation Parc Downsview Park, which co-manages the airfield with Bombardier Aerospace (the successor to de Havilland Canada). In recent years the property has been undergoing various landscape usage plans and some redevelopment has taken place.
The airfield was used in recent years to host the 1984 and 2002 Papal visits by Pope John Paul II, as well as to host the 2003 SARS concert headlined by the Rolling Stones.
The airfield has also served as a test site for several famous aircraft produced by de Havilland, including the Beaver, the Twin Otter, and the Dash 8. The airport is available to pilots only with prior permission.

A collection of about 60 small airfields in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia & Montenegro, many of which aren't featured in FS2004, each enhanced with taxiways, parking spaces, buildings etc. and aprons as appropriate, to fill in a few gaps to the east of Italy. Most of these airfields are relatively "rural", often little more than a shed and a grass runway in a field, but they allow the generation of lightweight GA AI traffic in this area and into the adjacent countries.Again, there's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. The second installment of my series of Washington State airports sceneries for use with Lago's FS Enhancer. This volume features Apex Airpark in Silverdale, WA and Olympic Airfield in Discovery Bay, WA. Both are fictional representations and feature static and dynamic scenery including moving cars, highway traffic, ambient sounds, and dynamic wildlife. Fly over the Hood Canal and look for the subs leaving Subase Bangor. Includes custom AFCADs for both airfields. Requires Lago's FS Enhancer to function.
