RAF Balderton

File Description:
RAF Balderton is a former Royal Air Force station located 2.0 miles (3.2 km) south of Newark-on-Trent, sandwiched between the now extinct Great Northern Railway (GNR) Bottesford-Newark line and the A1 road in Nottinghamshire, England. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces. During the war it was used primarily as a troop carrier transport airfield and after for munitions storage before it was closed in 1957. With the facility released from military control, Balderton was returned to agriculture, the runway concrete disappearing as hardcore under the AI road improvements of the 1960s. At that time, the developed Al was routed west of the original road, over the eastern perimeter track of the airfield, before coming back to the east to bypass Balderton village and Newark. Gypsum open-pit mining has also taken its toll where quarrying has completely obliterated the airfield, with single track roads all that remain of the runway and perimeter track, and the occasional concrete runway end or pile of rubble. Today the remains of the airfield are located on private property being used as agricultural fields.

Airstrips of Switzerland

File Description: Just a small collection of of ai-enabled airfields, that don't appear to have been implemented by other authors, to further expand my Airstrips of Europe project. Again, there's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. These buildings have minimal effect on frame-rates, so are ideal for this kind of job. The airfields are aligned as well as possible with the roads etc. in UT Europe and the Genesis Europe mesh, but should mostly be fine in a default installation or other configuration. As before, the files for each airfield can be easily identified by the ICAO code, even if the airfield names vary slightly, so you can pick and choose and mix and match to suit any sceneries you already have, should you so wish. There is no requirement for any other download. Each airfield will exist as a stand-alone entity should you only want a few of them. Please read the rest of this "blurb" in the included text file. There may be some details of note or interest.

Siauliai Air Base Package

File Description: This freeware AI package, produced by Military AI Works contains everything needed to activate Siauliai Air Base in FS2004. Once a Soviet air base, Siauliai officially became Lithuanian Air Force's major airfield in 1993. The Lithuanian Air Force was founded in 1992, soon after the fall of the Soviet Union, when an An-2 marked with the double Cross of Vytis took off from Barysiai airfield. In 1993 Barysiai was named First Aviation Base. After Lithuania applied for NATO membership in 1994, the Lithuanian Government transferred military operations to Zokniai airfield, close to the city of Siauliai. As of today, Siauliai hosts a transport squadron equipped with three Alenia C-27s and an L-410 plus a single L-39. The airfield also hosts NATOs Baltic Air Policing forces. Popham EGHP AFCAD - Replacement File

File Description:
EGHP2MV is a replacement AFCAD for the original version (EGHP1MV.zip) and fixes a bug whereby selection of the startup location for Rwy 03/21 placed you at a random airfield in the FS world. The runway has also been shortened so FS uses Rwy 08/26 most of the time as in reality. EGHP2 is a single-layer AFCAD file Popham Airfield, England. It is designed for use with UK 2000 Part 3 scenery and adds ATC, taxiways and aircraft parking spots in the correct places. All runways are available for FS2K2 to select the active. The file should not be used with the default FS2K2 Popham as the parking and taxy routes will be incorrectly placed. Also included is an optional flightplan - EGHPpln - which adds circuit traffic (FS2K2 Pro edition default aircraft) to the airfield.

MMZP Airport Hole Fix
