China Airlines Boeing 747-400 PW 'Millennium Dragon' Download

File Description:
This is a repaint of AIA Boeing 747-400PW in the special "Millennium Dragon" livery of China Airlines. Well, to my knowledge this livery was supposed to be painted on a CAL 747-400 to celebrate the year 2000, the year of the Dragon and a special Dynasty package was prepared too including a 747-400 model aircraft repainted in this color scheme. I'm not sure if they used that special livery or not (for I could not find any pic of it), but fortunately a friend had its model aircraft and I used it as my repainting model. Oh yes, I know it's neither the millennium, nor the year of the Dragon but I did it for two reasons: first because I was born in the year of the Dragon (7/22/1976 8;) and second because I'm in a Chinese mood (nope, I'm a Persian girl!) wishing to do something related and repainting this could somehow satisfy me (can anybody please translate the Chinese words written next to the name of the airline in that red stamp like thing)!! I hope that you'll like this and use it in your AI traffic 8;D

Alternate Ultimate Terrain Roads Download

File Description:
ALTERNATE ULTIMATE TERRAIN ROADS by Adnan 'Reload006' Arif (BEV team) Being an autogen designer in the Birds Eye View team inspired me to manipulate whatever I can to make FS9 look as realistic as possible. This is an alternate set of concrete and asphalt highways and local roads, color matched exactly to photographs of roads and highways, and with more realistic local roads. THESE WILL ONLY WORK WITH ULTIMATE TERRAIN, and you need to have purchased Ultimate Terrain USA/Canada to make these work. INSTALLATION : They are simply installed into FS9/texture. The default 'bright' UT roads are also included in case you`d like to revert back to them. The screenshots I have included are all with BEV summer textures. (www.flightsim-bev.com). I strongly advise getting Ultimate Terrain if you dont have it already, as it will greatly enhance your road/river/water bodies network . Also, if you change a setting in Ultimate Terrain, you will probably have to reinstall these roads. They should work with UT settings of 'residential roads on' or with 'main highways and roads only' . Enjoy! Adnan Arif/ aka Reload006. [email protected]

Douglas VC-54C-1-DO 'Sacred Cow' Download

File Description:
Built a C-54A-5-DO Skymaster at Santa Monica, CA, for the USAAF (c/n 7470) and delivered on 26 January 1944. Converted to VC-54C-1-DO for personal use by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Irreverent journalists promptly named it 'Sacred Cow'. The VC-54C contained an electric elevator to lift the polio-struck Roosevelt and his wheelchair on board. The elevator was raised from the ground into the aircraft's belly for which purpose a hatch in the bottom of the fuselage could be opened. President Roosevelt made only a few flights with the 'Sacred Cow', the most famous journey being to and from the Yalta Conference with Stalin and Churchill in the Soviet Union. Following the death of Roosevelt, his successor Harry S. Truman continued using the 'Sacred Cow' till July 1947. Nowadays the aircraft is on display at the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, be it with a different serial number. These are textures only. You will require Jens B. Kristensen's great Douglas DC-4 & C-54 (dc4_v21.zip). Original textures by Jens B. Kristensen. Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.

World GA Traffic Download

File Description:
These AI flight plan files have been created as a replacement to (NOT an addition to) the default Microsoft FS2004 GA flight plans. If you already use proper AI flight plans for commercial traffic, this is ideal for you. The default flight plans, as many know, are far from realistic as traffic just flies back and forth between two airports at regular intervals throughout each 24-hour day. These replacement plans are far more realistic in that: a) Aircraft keep flying to different airports throughout the day, returning home in the evening. b) Each aircraft flies to different destinations on different days of the week, c) Evening flights are substantially reduced, d) Night flights are minimal, and e) Appropriate country-based tail numbers are used. The flights comprise a total of 25389 aircraft, flying to 5520 different airfields. There are no circuits or touch and go flights to hamper your landing. They use only the MS default aircraft and fly to and from the default GA airports in FS2004. The only vintage aircraft included in these plans are DC-3s and Piper Cubs. Amundsen-Scott Station Download

File Description:
The Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station is the American scientific research station on the high plateau of Antarctica. This station is located at the southernmost place on the Earth, the Geographic South Pole, at an elevation of 2,835 meters (9301 feet) above sea level. Since the Amundsen-Scott Station is located at the South Pole, it is at the only place on the land surface of the Earth where the sun is continuously up for six months and then continuously down for six months. (The only other such place is at the North Pole, on the sea ice in the middle of the Arctic Ocean.) Thus, during each year, this station experiences one extremely long "day" and one extremely long "night". During the six-month "day", the angle of elevation of the Sun above the horizon varies continuously. The sun rises on the September equinox, reaches its maximum angle above the horizon on the summer solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, around 20 December, and sets onthe March equinox. During the six-month "night", it gets extremely cold at the South Pole, with air temperatures sometimes dropping below -73 C (-100 F). This is also the time of the year when blizzards, sometimes with gale-force winds, strike the Amundsen-Scott Station. The continuous period of darkness and dry atmosphere make the station an excellent place from which to make astronomical observations. This file has the apron and characteristics of the airport the coordenates are placed as far south FS allow it.

Quesnel CYQZ in British Columbia, Canada Download

File Description:
Quesnel is around 65 miles south of Prince George, at the junction of the Fraser and Quesnel Rivers. It has a population of less than 10,000 and is reliant on the timber industry and tourism (hiking, canoeing, fishing, hunting) in the surrounding area for it's income. The date for this scenery is, once again, around 2010. The airport is on the northern edge of the town and has a runway of 5,500 feet aligned 13-31 with PAPI at both ends. Because of the surrounding terrain runway 13 has a right hand VFR circuit. Parking for GA aircraft is organised by the Quesnel Flying Club in a grassed area adjacent to the concrete and asphalt apron. Also adjacent to the apron is the extraordinary terminal building, and next to that is the comparatively very ordinary building that houses the flying club. There are the usual airfield and plane maintenance buildings, and at the southern end of the runway two private hangars. There is also a Fire Base housing personnel that either drive from the base or fly by helicopter to deal with local forest fires at ground level. The AI included here is for Central Mountain Air and GA. I added to and adjusted the CYXS AI so that there are GA flights between CYXS and CYQZ, so just replace your current CYXS AI with this new one. Please email me if you find faults, such as a plane without textures. Note my newish email address at the end of these notes.

Drivable and Flyable Grey Van Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Drivable and Flyable Grey Van is derived from a stationary Euro Van model by the following modifications / additions: -land-vehicle instrument panel -sound files -FSX effects and custom exhaust smoke effects files -modified .CFG and .AIR files The vehicle is powered by a single aircraft piston engine with modified flaps to serve as a gear-shift. High gear allows the vehicle to speed up to 70 Kt on wide highways, while the low gear restricts the speed to about 12 Kt, but enables the vehicle to ascend steep slopes for exploring terrain scenery. At speeds around 65-70 Kt (in gear 4), pulling back on the yoke will allow the vehicle to take off and fly at level-flight speeds around 70 Kt. This is an interesting way to go island-hopping, overcome insurmountable terrain obstacles, or cover larger straight-line distances without using the slew mode. An autopilot with hold altitude and hold heading options is operable during flight only. All dashboard instruments are fully functional, including the Radio-Magnetic Indicator (RMI) during flight. Needles 1 and 2 are activated if correct frequencies are entered in the ADF and VOR radios. The vehicle has lights which are toggled by pressing [L]. Lights are associated with a very thin exhaust smoke effect. Thick exhaust smoke is toggled by pressing [I]. Driving vehicles through FSX scenery in different seasons presents a whole new aspect to the simulation. It allows us to imagine discovering innumerable places on the planet which are in practice beyond our reach. I hope you enjoy!

Gjoa Haven CYHK, on King William Island, Nunavut, Canada, Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Gjoa Haven is a village of 1,200 or so inhabitants at N 68 38 W 95 51 on the southeast corner of King William Island, around 155 miles north of the Arctic Circle. It's Inuit name is Uqsuqtuuq; the Gjoa Haven name was given by the Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen when he spent two years there from 1903 to 1905 during his exploration of the northwest passage from east to west. His boat was called Gjoa and the cove was named Gjoa Harbour, in Norwegian. The village has been added in this scenery with approximately the right shape; though the coastline with Ultimate Terrain does have the small cove that serves as a harbor the coast shape is wrong. The airfield runway is 4,400 feet of gravel 100 feet wide at 154 feet above sea level. There is no LL100 available, only JetA1, delivered once a year by ship along with all the other requirements of the town. There is also a nearby CAM-B remotely operated defence radar station with its three protective domes. The old terminal building is still there, albeit repainted and spruced up, along with the far larger and newer one alongside it. One of the screen shots shows Gjoa Haven as it appears for at least 8 months of the year, with snow on the ground and sea ice all around. If you want the ice then download my recent post of All Canada frozen lakes, rivers, and the northern seas, reversible with an untick in the FS scenery library.

Mount Pleasant Landing Strip Airport (67NJ), NJ Download

File Description:
Located 01 miles S of Hainesburg, New Jersey on 192 acres of land, Mount Pleasant Landing Strip Airport is a private turf field. The strip itself is 2100 feet in length over fairly level ground. There is no hard-surfaced grass runway in place, so setting your mesh to the highest resolution is recommended as you will be landing on bare terrain. Next to Runway 06 is a path through the trees you can taxi along to get to a hangar - although it is not available for transient aircraft and is closed. Collision with the trees along the path near the hangar and the static aircraft parked near it is disabled to make it easier to move through this relatively tight area. Immediately beyond the hangar is a clearing with ample room to turn around to taxi back out. You can also start parked in front of the hangar. The windsock is located a few feet west of the hangar and is not lit. The runway also has no edge lighting so daytime VFR operations only are recommended for this airfield. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New York 007. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.
