File Description: Tips and Tricks Number 18 - January 2006 Edition. A collection of useful ideas and recommendations to start your New Year off right. Included is the popular "From the E-Mail Bag" department which answers a question of general interest. Additionally, several readers have provided a few items which I think will provide a chuckle or two. Updated indexes by John Burford for the entire series in Excel (xls) and Adobe Acrobat (pdf) formats are included. As usual, I have attempted to include something of value for everyone, regardless of your experience level. Please unzip to a temporary location using the folders option. KILM - Wilmington International Airport - Wilmington, North Carolina (USA)

File Description:
Wilmington International Airport for FS9 John B. Loney, Ray Lunning and Michael Verlin This Airport started out to be a simple stand alone rendering of the public terminal at KILM. Michael and I entered into a correspondence about this when it became evident that Ray Lunning had designed KILM as a complete airport in 2007. This ended in a collaboration by the three authors. Ray Lunning graciously agreed to allow the use of his original files. Michael Verlin contributed additional input and testing to complete the integration of the various components. Marsland Aviation Winter 2007

File Description:
Winter 2007 flightplans for Marsland Aviation (Sudan). Fleet is: 1 Boeing B737-200, 1 Tupolev TU-134B and 1 Yakovlev YAK-42. Marsland Aviation operates into several towns from Sudan and Kenya. Note: The flights to Brussels have been left out. Hewa Bora's B762 is in maintenance at Brussels and the flights have been taken over by SN Brussels with an A333. Repaint:(On Avsim.com) B732 -> marsland.zip TU-134B -> marsland_tu-134b-3.zip YAK-42 -> No repaint available at the time of releasing these flightplans. Light Bloom Plugin

File Description: FSX supports light bloom, but the effect reduces framerates. In 2008, Boris Vorontsov developed a small freeware plugin, ENBSeries, which produces a similar effect, with little or no effect on framerates. This plugin has been discussed extensively on AVSIM and other flight sim forums. The purpose of this package is (a) to help distribute Vorontsov's plugin and (b) to make it easy for flight simmers to get started and enjoy what Vorontsov has given us. The trickiest part of (b) is adjusting the various parameters for Flight Simluator. You're welcome to play with this yourself, but most people are going to be happy with the settings provided here, courtesy of Orbx founder John "Koorby" Venema.

File Description: Tips and Tricks for FS2004 - An INDEX. This is an index in Excel format (xls) of the popular Tips and Tricks series compiled by David "Opa" Marshall, parts 1 thru 11. The index may be "searched" and "sorted" to display the information you desire. A short guide in .doc format is included to assist those who may not be familiar with Excel. Requires Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet program), which is a part of the Microsoft Office Suite. When the Tips and Tricks series resumes in the Fall of 2005, we anticipate including an updated copy of this Index with each issue. EZ Steam Train Objects Library

File Description:
EZ Steam Train Objects Library. This set of objects will allow you to design your own Scenic Railroad to enhance scenery in FS2004. The library includes straight and curved track, right and left switches, a track end bumper and a turntable. Also included are two Steam Locomotives, touring rail cars, two styles of water towers, a boarding platform, a maintenance shed plus an assortment of signage and other objects needed to build your own railroad. This library was created by John McKeon at the request of David "Opa" Marshall for use in his Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad project (OCSR.zip - available here). Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the easy installation instructions.
