| 1946 - Croydon to Beirut by DH Dragon Rapide |

File Description:
A letter in the September edition of "Aeroplane" was the inspiration for
the creation of this Flight. Ronald Neal flew as part of the crew on a delivery flight of a De Havilland DH-89 from Marseille to Beirut and listed the refuelling stops across the top of Africa. This occurred not too long after the end of World War 2. I have started the journey at Croydon, with the first stop being St. Nazaire, the port on the east coast of France from which German U-boats ventured. The next stop is Marseille and then the stops referred to in the letter, namely Ajaccio, Tunis, Castel Benito, Marble Arch, Benina, El Adem, Matruh and Heliopolis (Cairo). Thence to Beirut. Dave Garwood created a lovely model of the DH89a for FS2004 and you can find that - and many excellent repaints - right here on Avsim.com. Look for fs9_dh89.zip.

Mid-resolution (300-m) terrain mesh for the entire province of British Columbia (950,000 square km) and the Alaska panhandle southeast of N60 W139. Made from 250m-resolution source data without oversampling. Easy on frame rates and hard drive space. It transforms the rounded mountains of the default terrain mesh into a much more realistic representation of the diverse topography of this beautiful corner of the world. Experience the spectacular scenery between Vancouver and Atlin, Juneau and Fort St. John, and Mount Robson to Clayoquot Sound. Do you think they'll let you into the Kings Bay Naval Base? Probably not. Take your boat back south and spend the night on the beach at Fort Clinch. Return the boat in the early afternoon watching out for Navy aircraft carriers coming and going through the inlet. Keep an even sharper eye out for fighter jets and patrol planes as Jax has Naval Air Stations all over the place! Zip down to St. Augustine and check out Castillo De San Marcos and the country's oldest school house. Hurry west to Gainesville to catch a UF college football game. If it ends early enough maybe check out the drag racing near the airport before flying north in the morning to explore a civil war battlefield. Spend a few hours in a raft floating down a 72 degree crystal clear spring before heading back to the real world.

| Ontario Small Fields in Canada: #03 Essex CNE9 |

File Description:
This is the third in a series of small airfields in southern Ontario, Canada. It is Essex CNE9, a field near a small town of the same name close to Lake Erie and just northwest of Harrow (visible in one of the screenshots). The airfield has a grass runway of just 1,935 feet, with electric cables strung along the west side of the road on the approach to 09, buried for a short stretch the width of the runway (but avoid the poles). The airfield has three hangars, not the first farm strip to have more than the expected one-for-the-farmer. The intention is that downloaders will add further posts to the earlier ones, which will avoid uneccesary texture duplication etc. The fourth airfield will probably be Stoney Point CRML, a grass field to the northeast of Essex, close to Lake St. Clair.

| Churchill Falls CZUM in Newfoundland and Labrador Canada |

File Description:
Churchill Falls is a small town on the Churchill River, around 230 miles north of the Gulf of St Lawrence coast and 120 miles east of Labrador City. It is a company-built town for the staff and families that work in the generating station associated with the falls. The falls were first discovered in the 1830's and work on the generating station commenced in 1967. The runway is 5,500 feet of asphalt aligned 13-31, with PAPI and approach lighting at both ends, and the apron at the eastern end. The buildings are well replicated here and the AI includes both GA flights and the daily flights by Provincial Airways, along with a medical transport service. There is a dock for float planes on a nearby lake that is no longer in regular use and officially listed as closed, but the dock remains there and is included here.

This is a reasonably accurate version of YSSY to reflect todays situation with two optional files and made, one file with the Crosswind runway 7/25 activated where all 3 runways will be used for takeoff/landing and one file as the default airport runway operation. The International Terminal has been redesigned and now includes night lighting, assigned parking as per their website for the Domestic terminal only, Intl parking spots are random with seven gates added for the A380, taxiways and taxi signs updated to the latest charts, Marsh St and its Bridge added also included are Airport Drive and Link Rd, extra fuel trucks, support vehicle roads rebuilt, lighted helipad with the area buildings and many other scenery improvements and objects added.

| De Havilland DH89a - Prototype as HB-APA "Swiss" in 1955 |

File Description:
This the sixth in my series of Dragon repaints. This aircraft was the prototype Rapide - chassis no. 6250. It first flew at Hatfield (not Stags Lane) on 17th April 1934 in the hands of Captain H.S Broad, then the senior test pilot at de Havilland. It initially carried the marking CH-287, and its first certificate of airworthyness was issued after trials at Martlesham Heath in May. On its return to Hatfield, its fairing extensions and rudder balance flap were removed, and it was almost immediately sold to Herr R. Herzig of the Ostschweiz Aero Gesellschaft for service between St Gaul, Zurich, and Berne. The livery here, represents that of a postwar owner - that ofMotorfluggruppe Zurich des Ae.C.S which the aircraft wore from 1955. It was withdrawn from use in 1962. This texture set for use with Dave Garwood's and Co's superb Dragon Rapide. You will require the base file fs9_dh89.zip.

File Description:
Accurate rendition of the KSAT airport. Includes accuarate gate numbering and locations for all airlines serving the airport as well as assigned cargo areas and parking for general aviation aircraft. This is my continuing series of doing airports that have been neglected by both MS and the community. Hopefully this will enhance flying into this airport for those of you that frequent it. Terminal space was mostly satisfactory even though not shaped correctly in some instances. Every gate, however, is present and correctly numbered and airlines assigned to the right gates based on the SAT airport website. American and Southwest seem to be the dominant carriers to this airport both offering extensive intra Texas service. I will be continuing to do mid sized aiports accross the US and then probably do some updates to my original Central America and Caribbean afcads. One for the St. Thomas airport in the US Virgin Islands should be up within 24 hours as well. Enjoy flying Texas!
