File Description:
Repaint of the default Ford Tri-Motor in "Star Air Service" livery. Founded in Anchorage, Alaska in 1932 until 1937 with a name and ownership change. Star Air Services flew three Fords, NC8410, NC8419 and NC9651. Company logo was a Large BarnStar with black & brown star on a orange circle. Repaint done by Mr. Garry J. Smith.

The Microsoft default Ford Tri-Motor painted in "Star Air Lines Inc." livery. Repaint is based on two old black & white photographs. The markings are limited due to model imposed limitations. Repainted by Mr. Garry J. Smith. This Alaska based airline had just changed names and ownership 1937. The time of this repaint is about 1940. Valid registration numbers are NC-9651 or NC-8419. Good flying!!

Northern Air Transport Inc. Ford Tri-Motor - Circa 1930's Alaska

File Description:
The Microsoft default Ford Tri-Motor painted in "Northern Air Transport Inc." livery. It is based on a Black & White photographs. Registration is NC8419. Alaska Territory circa 1930's. This aircraft had passed thru the hands of Star Air Lines, Inc., Wein Alaska and then Northern Air.... It is hard to accurately paint this plane. Many of the textures are mirrored. The best has been done within that limitation. Repaint by Garry J. Smith.

" 'Southern Cross' as a Ford Tri-Motor instead of the Fokker F.VIIb/3m!! TOTAL FICTION - The "Southern Cross" that made the First Trans-Pacific crossing was a Fokker aircraft!!! Departed from Oakland California on 31 May 1928 and arrived 9 June 1928 in Brisbane Australia. A total distance of about 7,250 miles. The pilot was Sir Charles Kingsford Smith.

I made this scenery using standard objects. I corrected the airport altitude which is 80ft instead of 535 ft of the default scenery. Therefore the airport scenery should be used with a mesh scenery, e.g. the freeware mesh of Colombia by Raimondo Taburet (flightsim.com).
