| Supermarine Spitfire FVIII 5501 - V2 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Polished, bare metal textures, including clean VC, for the RealAir Spitfire 2008 Mark IX of a fairly rare (cannon + 4 MGs) Spitfire FVIII in impeccable condition prior to its first display flight -- the only such aircraft to fly during WWII. Painted in its original non-standard RAF markings with silver-painted fabric control surfaces, the aircraft is currently displayed at the South African National Museum of Military History in Johannesburg. It also has great historical interest: in 1944 this SAAF aircraft was sent from he war zone to South Africa at the specific request of General Smuts -- Churchill's close friend and confidant -- for display purposes to boost morale. Pilots found no discernible differences in handling between the Mk VIII and the the Mk IX versions. These entirely reworked textures more closely represent the real aircraft than the worn and grubby first version (SPITSAM.ZIP). Textures by Grant MacLean/Sean Moloney/RealAir.

This is a much more accurate version of 3S8 Grants Pass OR. than default FSX,(using default buildings)
NOTE; This is a Fixed version!. Some FlightSim fan's pointed out some issues to me,
1, Corrected the vasi lights from west side to east side of runway.
2, Fixed the "UTX" house on the east side of the field issue.
3, Added the lighter soil around the runway.
4, Corrected runway signs, changed from "30-12" to "31-13".(oops)

| LGAT Athens Hellinikon - Disused v2 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Version 2 of the scenery with refinements. This scenery includes the disused Athens, Greece, capital airport in its current status. The airport closed in year 2002 after being replaced from Athens International Airport - Eleftherios Venizelos LGAV in March 2001. The northwest side of the airport was then used for Athens 2004 Olympics athletic installations and the southeast side remains disused. The scenery is a modification of Angelo Tassoglou (LGAT2B.ZIP) by permission of the author. It contains only basic stock MS objects without any custom items and therefore is very light in performance load. Angelo has moved the airport in the correct location where it should be (due to obsolete coordinates reference system used by MS). This, nowadays disused, airport is not meant to be used for flying in FSX but only to have it visually correct when flying above.

| WIID 1962 Jakarta Kemayoran V2 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
We have produced this scenery to provide taxiways and details
as they were around 1962 in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Juanda and Denpasar.
We have also included new parking to allow the AI aircraft to taxi
correctly at the new (old!) airports.
Kemayoran airport was Jakarta’s and Indonesia’s first international airport.
It was gradually forgotten after the Indonesian government opened
two new airports, Halim Perdanakusuma and Soekarno-Hatta.
In late 1920’s early 1930’s the Dutch turned the area into an airport
and built several military camps to house their soldiers at what is
now Garuda Street.
Kemayoran airport was officially opened for international flights
on 8 July 1940.
The airport was managed by KNILM
(Koninklijke Nederlands Indische Luchtvaart Maatschappy),
a subsidiary of KLM, the official airline of the Netherlands.
Kemayoran Airport was officially closed on 31 March 1985
because the location was deemed no longer appropriate,
and the government wanted to convert it into a commercial area.
Now including along with WIID Jakarta Kemayoran:
WIIJ Yogyakarta ( Java )
WRSJ Surabaya ( Java )
WRRR Denpasar ( Bali )
