File Description:
Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (Part 2). The B-52 first flew in 1952, the last one was built in 1961, and there are still over 90 of the original 744 airframes either in front-line service or in a ready-reserve status. With extensive avionics upgrades starting this year, the USAF plans on using the B-52s until 2045. The aircraft has an impressive resume, having served in five shooting wars and was the backbone of Strategic Air Command's nuclear deterrent air component during almost forty years of Cold War service.
Jake Burrus started this AI traffic model a couple of years ago, and I was honoured to pick up the project and get it across the finish line, with no small amount of help from Mike MacIntyre, as usual. This is a 7-LOD AI traffic model representing the Stratofortress in all of its operational service. This is part 2, covering the B-52F, which spearheaded the original Arc Light missions in Vietnam in 1965, and includes a total of 40 repaints. Also included are optional models for VFR traffic use. Aircraft model by Jake Burrus and Mike Pearson, master textures and repaints by Mike Pearson, flight dynamics by Mike MacIntyre. Please read the extensive documentation contained in the file.

But now we have a virtual one with elegant dolphins jumping around.
So, why is this file called BIRDS if it adds dolphins??

FSX Carrier Tracks Volumes 1 And 2. Volume 1 places Nimitz-class carrier models as moving AI boat traffic in Hawaii and four coastal locations, situated by Marine Corps and Naval air stations. Note: Volume 1 has been updated since the first release. If you have the original version, delete it; this one has everything you need. Volume 2 adds Nimitz-class carriers in more locations: near Naval air stations in the United States, around the Hawaiian islands of Kauai and Maui, and Tokyo Bay. It also includes two tracks for the French carrier "Clemenceau": one in the Mediterranean, the other in the Caribbean. For each track, a map is provided as well as a sample flight that starts on the carrier. Requires: freeware "USS Nimitz and Eisenhower" by Javier Fernandez, available here. Instructions for downloading the French "Clemenceau" are provided in the readme.

The photoreal scenery includes a wide area around Lake Trasimeno. The airport of Perugia San Egidio (ICAO code LIRZ) is found near the scenery (see map). For the best results, use it in association with other parts of Umbria photoreal: Umbria 1 Terni, Umbria 3 Perugia, Umbria 4 Arezzo.

With Max's permission this update to his excellent scenery corrects the ILS glide slope and the PAPI angle to 3.8 degrees as per charts. Included an optional "cvx" file to eliminate the cliff scenery near the runway. This will now ensure a safe altitude from terrain approach to rwy14.
