Airline Inventory Update #3 Download

File Description:
(Update 3 - 9 January 2006) Not long ago I embarked on a project to streamline my flight simulator's AI setup. I knew I had too many aircraft texture sets that I was not using, too many unnecessary night texture files, installation of defunct airlines, and the like. So, I put together a spreadsheet showing my AI system with all the airlines and additional pieces such as vehicles and ships. This has been a very large and time-consuming project as my AI system has more than 7,000 texture sets, more than 2,200 airline folders, and other assorted AI components. Inside you'll find an Excel spreadsheet with all my airlines (more than 2,200) listed, Birds, Blimp, Corporate Aircraft, Defunct Airlines, Douglas DC-3, Float Planes, Government Aircraft, Helicopters, Medical Aircraft, Military Aircraft, Personal Registration Aircraft, Ships, and Vehicles - all associated with the FS AI system. In addition, I've included the spreadsheet's source text files for those that do not have Microsoft Excel. NOTE: You can download an MS Excel spreadsheet viewer (freeware) from the Microsoft site. Because of copyright restrictions and the size of my AI system, I have not provided links to specific files. However, I think you'll find the data very useful. See the readme file for a list of possible sources and contact information. NOTE: Changes since the last update are reflected in "green" text. Frank Bass

VT ANG Air Museum Collection - Part 2 Download

File Description:
The Vermont Air National Guard was organized on 1 July 1946 at Burlington Municipal Airport and was federally recognized as the 134th Fighter Squadron on 14 August 1946 making it the fifth US ANG unit so formed and recognized. Since that time the VT ANG has flown eight different aircraft types in its primary mission and several more in support of it. The primary mission aircraft flown include the P-47D-40, P-51D-25, F-94B, F-89J, F-102A, EB-57B, F-4D, F-16A and the current F-16C. The mission support aircraft flown include the L-5, AT-6C, AT-11, C-47B, T-33A, C-45H (?), C-54G, C-131D, C-12F and C-26A. The VT ANG has a small air museum near the main gate to their base at Burlington International Airport which currently includes a T-33A, F-94B, F-89J, F-102A, F-4D, C-47B, C-45H and C-131D. My virtual VT ANG Air Museum Collection for FS9 is an attempt by an old 134th FS veteran to duplicate and expand upon the actual VT ANG Air Museum. This second download package, vamc2.zip, includes my VT ANG repaints of the AT-6G Texan by Cliff Presley, the P-51D Mustang by Andrew Wai and the P-47D Thunderbolt by Krzysztof Malinowski/Greg Pierson/Tom Kohler.

Backcountry airfields for 19m terrain mesh in Idaho USA series 2 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
These backcountry fields are for use with the FSGenesis 19m mesh of Idaho; they almost certainly do not work without it. The six airfields are a follow-on series to the previous four, ranging from Stanley that has a village and airfield buildings of one sort or another and even a length of asphalt runway, to Bruce Meadows that has two bathrooms. The full list from northwest to southeast is Bruce Meadows U63, Garden Valley U88, Warm Springs Creek 0U1, Stanley 2U7, Graham U45, and Smiley Creek U87. These airfields compensate for the loss of airfield flattens after the removal of AF917150 and AF917160, but there remain some now-unflattened airfields I have not included here, whether for reason of the impossibility of realistically creating it (as in the case of Flying B) or just a total lack of anything interesting about it. There may be some more follow-on fields that are new, to the north of the original four; these six are all to the south. The landclass files either change forested areas, as in Bruce Meadows, or add a village, as in Stanley. Although these are stand-alone, the presumption is that you have already installed the original four for use with the FS Genesis 19m terrain mesh, and there is a correction for Big Creek where I missed spotting a lack of flatten in one area.

Ota Air Base Download

File Description:
The Ota Air Base (BA2), created on December 31, 1937, was inaugurated on April 14, 1940, near the town of Ota, about 50KM from Lisbon (Portugal). Lodged aircraft such as Gloster Gladiator, Junkers JU-52, Junkers JU-86, Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire. In 1953 are received the first jet aircraft of FAP, two De Havilland Vampire and the first 25 planes Republic F-84 G Thunderjet, making BA2 the most important Air Force Base until the end of the 1950s. In 1960 the BA2 changed radically, no longer a basis for an Operational Base Instruction. In November 1976 was created the Centro de Instrucao 2 (CI2), for elementary education pilot (with DHC Chipmunk), radar experts and the integration of training schools and military preparation technique. In 1992 the designation of Air Base 2 is amended to Centro de Formacao Militar e Tecnica da Forca Aerea (CFMTFA) which gives the training military, humanistic, scientific and technical staff of the Air Force, whose scope is not covered by other organs of the Air Force, with the aerodrome is currently closed to air activity. This scenery was the fact that it has in the FS aircraft that operated in Ota, such as the DHC Chipmunk, the Republic F-84G or the Junkers Ju-52. This scenary was made in ADE9X. Tested in FSX, I do not know if it works in FS2004.

Exploring Our World - Part 2 - Easter Island, Chile - SCIP - a complete makover. Download

File Description:
Exploring Our World - Part 2 - Easter Island, Chile. In part two of this new series you will find a complete makeover of Easter Island which MS virtually ignored. Designed to compliment the fine Mataveri International Airport by Daniel Rojas (scip_o7.zip at Flightsim.com), this package includes Mesh and adjusted coastlines by John Young. John has also provided a new Afcad which removes unrealistic pushback starts. A new landclass file by John Burford adds the villages near the airport and more realistic ground treatments. You will also find numerous scenery enhancements using objects from the RWY12 and EZ Scenery libraries. Francisco Vargas has contributed a set of Thermals which soaring fans will enjoy. Of special interest is the use of AI Volkswagens, as taxi's driving around the airport and AI Helicopters that take visiting tourists on sightseeing tours. The AI Volkswagens have been provided by Ranier Girbig and are used with his permission. Easter Island, home of the mysterious head statues (Moai) has many new and exciting things just waiting for you to explore. Even the small adjacent Moto Nui Island, which MS forgot, has been added. This is the second of a series exploring lesser known parts of our FS world. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary folder and follow the documentation very carefully to assure a proper installation. ......

Sperry 177 FCU Autopilot Panel Modification v2.1 for the Tinmouse II Boeing 737-200 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This package includes the files and installation procedures for a modification of the terrific Tinmouse II Boeing 737-200 panel available on AVSIM to add a Sperry 177 FCU autopilot to the panel. While the Tinmouse II panel is simply one of the best freeware 2D panels ever created, a number of pilots have expressed a desire for a replacement of the Sperry 77 (CWS) autopilot with the Sperry 177 (dials and digits) autopilot. The previous Sperry 177 modification I released had many of the elements of a Sperry 177, but did not entirely look or function like a Sperry 177 FCU. This version (2.1) corrects many of these issues, and should bring an entirely new level of realism to your Tinmouse II panel over the v1.0 modification. Here's the list of corrections and improvements implemented in the v2.1 package over v1 and v2: Actual Sperry 177 layout and functionality, Course knob now fully functional and works in synergy with gyro course knob, Panel refresh rate now accurate and smooth (no "click delay"), VOR LOC button drives the FS NAV1 Lock button, LNAV turns on the GPS Drives NAV1 signal, and an optional Sperry 177 full MCP layout or condensed w/ FD layout. This package requires the latest Tinmouse II aircraft and panel, which at the time of this release was v1.26.

Eastern Air Lines, Douglas DC-7B (N836D) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Eastern Air Lines, Douglas DC-7B (N836D) livery for FS9/FSX - This aircraft in real life has been lovingly restored by the Historical Flight Foundation (HFF). It has recently been approved for flight by the FAA, and should be seen at airshows soon.
The HFF is unique in that its Douglas Aircraft Co. DC-7B aircraft represents the only U.S. based, four engine, passenger prop-liner in operation today. The aircraft being operated by the HFF was still in its original passenger configuration as delivered to Eastern Air Lines in January 1958. Of the 112 DC-7 aircraft produced, this is the only surviving passenger configuration aircraft. You can read more about this aircraft and get all the latest news at: http://www.n836d.com/

THIS FLIGHT SIMULATOR VERSION:
This livery is a re-creation of the aircraft restored by the HFF, and is accurate as of April 2010. It uses a special model created by Tom Gibson, to allow an accurate livery layout on the nose and nose gear doors. Please follow the installation instructions carefully. You'll need to download and install the CalClassic Domestic DC-7B - the American Airlines DC-7B Base Pack: www.calclassic.com/dc7b.htm

For details about the FS plane, please refer to the DC7B2K4.TXT file in the Domestic DC-7B zip file.

EDST - Hahnweide Kirchheim - Germany *v1.2* Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The airfield EDST-Hahnweide is located approximately 17 nautical miles southeast of EDDS- Stuttgart. Former it was just a gliderfield but now ist is available also for small motor-aircrafts. Each two years there are happens the greatest meeting of oldtimer-aircrafts in Europe.

This scenery is designed very much in detail. All important objects have been created by me and Joachim Herwig using actual original photos of the airfield and its surrounding. A retouched photo background, covering all four seasons, completes the scenery.

EDST Hahnweide does not exist in the standard scenery of the FSX. So this scenery is an addon-scenery, which hopefully will fill one of the plenty “white spots” in the World of FSX. Because this field is some like a “bumpi” medow, the airfield ground is exactly designed like this. Therefore you will not find a plane runway.

Libraries: Many smaller Objects, like people, cars or static airplanes in this scenery were taken from three popular freeware libraries for whose use I got the friendly permission of the authors. If these libraries are not installed , many objects are not visible ! The following libraries are used:
1. FS-Piloten_Objektlibrary - http://www.fs-piloten.de/thread.php?threadid=1063
2. FSX_FlightPortLib - http://www.flightport.de/libraries/flightport-library/

YWWI - Woodie Woodie Manganese Mine, Western Australia Download

File Description:
YWWI Woodie Woodie Manganese Mine - Pilbara Manganese, a wholly owned subsidiary of Consolidated Minerals (Consmin), operates the Woodie Woodie mine, which produces high-grade manganese ore of superior quality. The ore is sold to the international steel industry. Production in 2010 was 1,238,000t @ 46.2% Mn, with a capacity of 2.5mtpa of high grade lump and fines. The high-grade lump produced by the mine is an ideal blending material with high manganese and is very low in phosphorus. Furthermore, the lump is hard, has very low degradation and high thermal stability. The mine has a 100.5km2 mining corridor and approximately 5,500km2 of greenfield areas outside this corridor. Multiple open pits are in operation and owner mining of ore is used to promote selectivity and to minimise dilution. The mine also employs contract mining of waste to promote efficient bulk mining practices. The mineral processing techniques include crushing, screening and heavy media separation. Woodie Woodie has a new camp and an all-weather air-strip constructed in 2009, suitable for large aircrafts. Ore is trucked to Port Hedland for shipment. Consmin has committed in excess of A$34 million to exploration in 2011, with the intention to explore more than 60 corridor targets and more than 130 regional targets from nine prospect areas. www.consminerals.com.au/m/files/fs/woodie-woodie-fact-sheet.pdf REQUIRES Blencowe_LibraryKit.zip

North American P-51D Mustang "Hell-er Bust" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
A repaint only for the payware Warbirdsim product 'Mustang Tales'. This repaint depicts the restored P-51D-20-NA 44-72438, "Hell-er Bust", registered N7551T. This specific aircraft is known to have been delivered to the 8th Air Force in England in late January 1945, however no available records indicate any combat time or what, if any, Fighter Group the aircraft was assigned. Following the end of WWII the aircraft served with the Swedish AF as Fv26131, and then with the Dominican AF as FAD 1920. After being imported back into the U.S. in the 1980's, the aircraft was purchased by Selby Burch and given a ground-up restoration. Finished in 118th TRS markings, the aircraft won the Grand Champion WWII Warbird award at Sun 'N Fun 1997. The aircraft was later purchased by Bob Jepson/Lady Alice Corporation and first repainted as 'Lady Alice' and then as 'Hell-er Bust'. In 2006 the aircraft was obtained by the Historic Aircraft Foundation and based at Paine Field, near Seattle, WA. Since 2009, the aircraft has been owned by Mark Peterson/Mustang High Flight LLC, based at Boise, Idaho, and remains finished as 'Hell-er Bust'. The markings depict an original wartime mount of Lt. Col. Edwin L. 'Ed' Heller, a P-51D-10-NA (44-14696) of the 486th FS, 352nd FG. This repaint features new bump maps, wheel well, gun bay, and cockpit textures.
