| Armstrong Ontario; one airfield and two float bases |
|
File Description:
Armstrong CYYW airfield is 70 miles northeast of Thunder Bay, and close to Lake Nipigon. There isn't much of interest at the airfield by way of buildings (as there aren't many buildings!) and the only plane I saw was a fire fighting Canadaair CL 415. A basic airfield with one runway with lights and one without, and no maintenance. There is fuel, but it is locked up and not for sale.
The two float bases are 5 miles west (CJF6) and 10 miles southwest (CKN6) of Armstrong airfield. Lake Mackenzie is home to two companies, Armstrong Outposts (two Beavers) and Huron Air & Outfitters (an Otter and a Beaver) who both run fishing and hunting lodges. Wilderness North are further south on Lake Waweig, and I think they fly two Otters and a Beaver to their outpost camps. You need Ultimate Terrain, or there won't be any lakes!

Version 2 because the version V1 didn't include chasnay.bgl file ...
A french scenery just for fun = Atlantic Aeropark near Chasnais and Lucon towns in Vendee country in France.
There are few aeropark in France. I created airport and some houses with planes for 4.75 precision mesh. There is a little problem with flat tile but it was too long to correct this. Never mind it's not very problematic.
It's just for fun to fly in Vendee ...
You can use library for your own scenery if you want. You can update this scenery but, please, make this free for FSX community. See http://www.atlanticairpark.com/ for map and details on real world.
For installation, you just unzip in addon scenery path
and you have to declare in parameters of fsx the scenery repertory (as usual). Vladimir Corre. Contact: [email protected]

| B17 Flying Fortress |
|
File Description:
The B17 is arguably the best known heavy bomber from WWII. Followed closely by it's direct successor the B29 SuperFortress it symbolizes the best of WWII's heavy Bombers. The B17 was one of the planes that barely made it into the war. In 1934 the then very small Boeing company had a prototype four engined bomber design called the B-299 but it had not been ordered by the US military. It had suffered several serious setbacks in it's design competition including a crash during a fly-off. Boeing continued work the plane and eventually secured a small service test order and the troubled early history of the bomber began.
The B17 and bombers like it were planes created as "strategic bombers". The essential idea was that a strategic bomber should be able to carry a very large payload for long distances. The military had come to the realization that bombing technology was by nature imprecise even with new advances like the American Norden sight, and what was required was a large number of bombs delivered by large number of planes to assure that a target was destroyed. Although the Germans actually had a decent "smart bomb" and the British built specialty bombs, neither was reliable, so it seemed the best idea was just to blanket the target with bombs.
An American extension to this concept was that of a self-defended bomber. Bombers could be built so tough and with so much defensive armament, it was thought, that they could simply fly to the target, drop bombs, and if necessary fight their way through fighters to get home. There would be security in the large number of bombers in formations, and the defensive capability would allow bombers to fly during the day for better accuracy in drops. It was to this design concept the B17 was built.
Early experiences in the war with B17's and B-24's could only be termed as disastrous. Loss rates of up to 25% showed the concept of unescorted bombers in daytime to be entirely wrong. Escort fighters were a necessity for success. It soon became apparent that with fighter cover the B17 really was an unparalleled strategic bomber. Success for the B17 shot up dramatically, and it's initial design specifications of huge amounts of armor and gunner positions served it well when fighters did make it close in. The Fortress had enough strength to stave off attackers until escorts showed up, and it became legendary for the incredible punishment it could take and still make it home.

| YPNW Pannawonica, Western Australia town and strip |
|
File Description:
YPNW Pannawonica with FSX default and ORBX tints condensed into one zipfile. The town of Pannawonica is an iron-ore mining town located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, near the Robe River, about 200 km south-west from Karratha. In 2006, it reportedly had the highest median weekly income of any town in Australia, due to the high income of its mine workers. Pannawonica was built in 1970 by Cleveland-Cliffs Robe River Iron (predecessor of the present Robe River Iron Associates) and was gazetted as a townsite in 1972. The township¢s name was derived from nearby Pannawonica Hill, named by a surveyor in 1885 after the corresponding Aboriginal placename which is said to mean "the hill that came from the sea". The traditional legend is that two local Aboriginal tribes were arguing over the ownership of the hill which was located by the sea. The sea spirit decided to resolve the dispute by moving the hill inland. As the hill was dragged over the land it left a deep indentation which became the Robe River. Pannawonica is one of a number of remote-area iron-ore-mining towns built throughout the Pilbara to house workers operating open-cut mines and the loading of ore trains. It is a 'closed town', having limited facilities for visitors, the company's accommodation being reserved for its staff and visiting contractors. Some visitor accommodation is available at the Pannawonica Tavern. Pannawonica is home to more than 800 people, comprising Robe and Pilbara Iron employee families, staff on fly-in fly-out (¢fifo¢) roster from Perth, and those involved in support services. It is accessible by road, rail and light aircraft. REQUIRES Blencowe_LibraryKit.zip

File Description:
Demoversion with banners, new VOR gauge, with new PANEL and GAUGES, new external model, sound and virtual cockpit. The A350 XWB (Xtra Wide-Body) is Airbus’ response to market demand for a medium capacity long range wide-body family. An ultra long-range version, the A350–900R, will fly even further while a freighter version, the A350–900F, will complement the passenger models.
As befits the most advanced aircraft family in its segment, the A350 XWB is able to provide greater economy on long-range markets and is equally attractive as a route opener or as part of a multi-type Airbus fleet offering optimized network solutions. Thanks to the application of the latest innovations, the A350 XWB is able to offer 20 per cent lower cash operating costs per seat than competing aircraft in this size category and fuel efficiency improvements of up to 25 per cent per seat. The fly-by-wire A350 XWB Family is a significant addition to the Airbus product range. A member of the Airbus FBW Family of aircraft, it benefits from the same operational commonality as the other members of the Family. This handling and flight deck commonality allows airlines to benefit from the unique Airbus Family concept of cross crew qualification and mixed fleet flying, and will ensure smooth introduction into service. | YMDN Merredin, Western Australia, Town and Airfield |
|
File Description:
YMDN Merredin Town and Airfield - includes townsite landclass. Merredin, a town better known for its wheat and sheep exports. But for almost a decade, it's where one of Asia's busiest carriers, China Southern Airlines, has been sending its trainee pilots to learn how to fly. "They come from a country with a population of more than a billion people. Right now they live in Merredin - population, depending on who's visiting, around 2,000. For nine years now, they and hundreds like them have travelled to WA's empty, sprawling Wheatbelt to learn how to fly. The middle of the Wheatbelt is not the first place you'd look for the future of Chinese commercial aviation. But before these fledgling flyers can spread their wings with China's largest airline, they must pass six months of boot camp in Merredin. Most of them are from China's southern provinces. Their backgrounds are varied. For many of them, it's the first time that they've operated some form of machinery, which includes those students that haven't even had an exposure to driving a motor car. It's early days in their careers. The students are putting in the groundwork. First, mastering the art of piloting single-engine two-seater planes. It's all preparation for the Boeings and airbuses they'll eventually be flying on major international routes. The pressure is intense. Every aspect of the student's progress is measured. Failure can have serious implications for their hopes of becoming commercial pilots. It's part theory and part practical. But flying isn't the only thing that these young men have to get used to in Merredin. For one, there's the incredibly slow pace of country life. Merredin Shire sold the defunct airport for $1 - that's cheaper than a bag of lollies. The locals say the monetary sweetener has paid off." (From ABC transcript) REQUIRES Blencowe_LibraryKit.zip
