File Description:
This presumes you have already installed Bethel PABE, Bethel Local Airfields, and Bethel St Mary's. In the Yukon River area of Alaska to the north of Bethel and to the south around the equally wide (but shorter) Kuskowim River there are small villages, served by flights from both Bethel PABE and St Mary's PASM. These villages are dependent upon fishing for survival, and in this flat and very wet terrain are equally dependent upon the gravel runways that link them to the outside world. There are no surfaced roads, and the rivers and their tributaries wind into the distance and are impractical delivery routes except from nearby places. In an area 300 miles by 200 miles most places cannot be described as "nearby". This post is of the small villages, including those previously posted; I had missed on picking up some terrain conflicts between nighttime grass and town textures. They are corrected here and included along with new airfields. Bethel and St Mary's are also reposted to include the further enlargement of parking for the increased number of small AI aircraft. These smaller airfields vary in quality; some have runway signage but most do not, and while some have two or even three hangars/garages/terminal buildings on the apron there are others who have none at all. The 39 small airfields included here are as listed:
Akiak AKI, Akiakchak Z13, Alakanuk AUK, Anvik PANV, Atmautluak 4A2, Cape Romanzof PACZ, Chefornak PACK, Chevak VAK, Eek EEK, Emmonak PAEM, Goodnews GNU, Grayling KGX, Holy Cross HCA, Hooper Bay PAHP, Kako 9AK2, Kalskag KLG, Kasigluk Z09, Kipnuk PAKI, Kongiganak PADY, Kotlik KOT, Kwethluk KWT, Kwigillingok A85, Marshall MLL, Mountain Village MOU, Napakiak WNA, Napaskiak PKA, Newtok PAEW, Nightmute IGT, Nunapichuk 16A, Pilot Station 0AK, Quinhagak PAQH, Russian Mission RSH, Scammon Bay SCM, Shageluk SHX, Sheldon Point SXP, Toksook Bay OOK, Tuluksak TLT, Tuntutuliak A61, Tununak 4KA.
I am currently going through the airfields again to check if further modifications are required, and I am also adding a few new ones. As I am going to be updating my computer I am posting now, complete or not, and I will post an update later of further additions.

| Korean Air 1998 AI Package |
|
File Description:
Korean Air was one of only 2 airlines doing domestic Korean flights in 1998, with Korean Air having a much larger market share than Asiana and extensively flying the A300s on many domestic routes. By 1998, Korean Air had converted(to a freighter) or retired most of the 747-200s, 747-300s, MD-11s and A300B4s, but they were still in the fleet in very small numbers. The A330-300 and 777-200 were also starting to join the fleet very slowly with a few examples of each. The MD-80s and Fokker 100s were being used in decent numbers on both domestic flights and flights to Japan and China. The 747SPs were active but only picked up flying as spare airplanes, so they mostly sit in GMP but during the week do GMP-SFO-DEN, GMP-NRT-LAX-GMP, and GMP-HKG flights taken from 747-400s. As is the case with some of these plans, to upkeep 100% of the OAG flight schedule using the limitations of AI in flight simulator, there are a few extra planes(4x MD-80 and 1x Fokker 100) in these plans with fake registration numbers. The user may decided if they'd rather see all real life flights or the real amount of aircraft. Ranmori has painted a 727-200 as a bonus, and I gave these extra 4 MD-80s registration numbers from 727s and segregated them from the flightplans in case you wish to use the 727, but in real life it was retired in late 1996. Note that these plans and all 1998 plans use the Seoul-Gimpo airport(GMP/RKSS) as Incheon(ICN/RKSI) did not open until 2001. Textures by Ranmori Scythe for the AIA MD-80, Fokker 100, FAIB 747-200, 747-300, 747-400, 747SP FSPX 777-200, A330-300, MD-11, TFS A300B4 and A300-600R along with the AIA 727-200 bonus included. | VARIG 1998 |
|
File Description:
In 1998, VARIG was still a huge legacy airline, but routes and frequencies were starting to be cut, which continued into the 2000s until their 2006 demise. MD-11s, DC-10-30s, and 747-300s mostly served long-haul routes such as NGO, NRT, LAX, MIA, JFK, MAD, BCN, LHR, CPH, ect, while the 767s did longer South America routes as well as CUN/MEX/JFK/MCO/MIA as well as flights to Spain and Portugal. VARIG's "around the world" GIG-GRU-JNB-BKK-HKG-BKK-JNB-CPT-GRU-GIG flight was flown with an MD-11 at the time, and I have assigned it to the "World Cup" livery MD-11, which means you will not see the aircraft much in Brazil but it will pop up abroad. VARIG flew many "tag on" flights, like LIM-LAX-NRT/NGO, LHR-CPH, MAD-BCN, MIA-MCO, ect, and there are many, many GIG-GRU and GRU-GIG flights that were part of international routes with no ticket sales in between. Between 0500 and 0700, there are many widebodies making this short flight. The 737-300s flew all over Brazil and to some South American countries. Rio Sul, who did the flights to CGH and SDU, is not included was released seperately on Avsim as "rio_sul_1998.zip". Though VARIG livery 737-300s flew on behalf of Rio Sul, Nordeste and PLUNA, those flights are not included and are included in those respective airlines. An MD-11 and a 737-300 were painted in special colors to celebrate the World Cup, and a 767-200 wore a special Star Alliance livery. The 747-300 in the Star Alliance colors only had them applied to one side of the aircraft and never flew revenue service in that livery, so it is not included. The rest of the fleet wore a mix of the 1997 introduced livery and the 1980s blue and white colors with the silver belly. The entire fleet on the FAIB 737-200, 737-300, 747-300, 767-200 and 767-300,and FSPX MD-11 by Raphael Rodrigues is included. The DC-10-30s on the AIM model by Jason King are on Avsim as "aim_dc1030_varig_pp-vmb_313514.zip" and "aim_dc1030_varig_oldcolors_307373.zip". Flightplans by Chasen Richardson.
