| St Michael Island in Alaska-St Michael 5S8 and Stebbins WBB |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
St Michael Island is 50 miles southwest of Unalakleet, an island that in fact appears to be a cape and a firmly attached piece of the mainland. On the island there are two villages, St Michael on the northeast corner and Stebbins on the northwest. St Michael has a new airfield that is west of the village by around a mile or so, with a gravel runway 4,000 feet long. The old and now closed airport was known as SMK, and is now readily identifiable by the new red-roofed school building that occupies the centre of the runway. The new airfield now has an icao code of PAMK, but FS9 does not readily accept icao code changes so we are stuck with the original code it was given, 5S8. The SMK icao of the old airport will still show on your gps as if I deleted it the runway would also have to be deleted, and a substitute and unsatisfactory gravel apron made to impersonate a runway. Stebbins is 5 miles west of St Michael and next to the shore, a smaller village than St Michael with around 250 inhabitants. The airfield is at the southern end of the village and has a gravel runway that is 3,000 feet long. The icao code is WBB. There is no AI included here as it was already included in the post of Shaktoolik. There is a correction here for Shaktoolik, which I now find should have had a blue garage, not a red one; I wrongly named a photo. A note here about my scenery making. This is post number 501 and there will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I took or found for scenery purposes. There is a limit to what can be located online and I have already been making use of the little there is; eg Unalakleet. So, if you are near an airfield (preferably Canadian or Alaskan) and have a camera..... Let me know.

| St Lawrence Island AK: Gambell PAGM, Savoonga PASA, and Northeast Cape |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
St Lawrence Island is in Alaska, but "in" is slightly misleading as it is in fact in the Barents Sea and 120 miles from the Alaska mainland, and only 40 miles offshore of Russia. The island is around 100 miles long, with two villages and at the eastern end an old air force radar base that was cleared away some 25 years ago. Gambell is one of the two villages and is at the far western end of the island, with a population of around 700 living mainly from the sea. This northern airfield is unusual in that it has an asphalt runway and apron, the lit runway being aligned 16-34 and just over 4,500 feet long. The reason for the asphalt becomes apparent if you try walking in the vicinity, as underfoot there are rounded pebbles down to varying depths, and they are quite small and eventually slippery enough to trip you up. To base a flexible gravel runway on top of this would have been difficult, and when it was originally built it was for an air force base (closed long ago). The village is also fairly unique among northern settlements in that it has wind turbines and also solar panels. The second village is Savoonga and is around 40 miles east of Gambell with a similar population. The runway here is lit gravel aligned 5-23 and 4,900 feet long. This village also has wind turbines and solar panels. There are no vehicles (cars, pickups, trucks etc) on the island, mainly because there is nowhere far to go to and in the case of Gambell because roads as such would be difficult to create. ATV's are the standard way to go, along with small boats for fishing and whaling. At the eastern and of the island the remaining traces of the air force radar base are just the gravel runway and aprons, included with the Savoonga scenery. The AI included here is for daily flights from Nome by ERA and Bering Air, along with some GA. Also included here is the EZ library that includes the wind turbines, to save you looking for it. Installing this will also mean that a wind farm in my Cyprus scenery wii now be visible to the north of Larnaca, and there are other libraries in the series that include useful objects. The Lens_EZ_Animated library could go into your static objects folders, which is where I have it; up to you.

| Twinstar_ Twin_ Bonanza_V2.zip |
|
File Description:
This is version 2 of my Twinstar_ Twin_ Bonanza.zip.The repaint of my Twin Star Flight School has been completely redone, including
interior and one without logos. You can check my progress from my first Twin Bonanza repaint which by comparison is trash compared to my
latest Twin Bonanza repaint. All file names remain the same (with some added) so if it wants to overwrite, let it do so.It has three sound
sets,I recommend Sound.ts in FS9,Sound.dc in FSX and Sound for either FS9 or FSX.It also contains my V3 panel, glass and prop updates. The
aircraft.cfg is up to date for use with both FS9 and FSX.It also includes all of my Twin Bonanza repaints totalling 139 in all.
The main reason for doing this is for ease of use.No additional files are required for this download. The model,3 sound sets and 2
texture sets are included. And of course any of my Twin Bonanza repaints will also work with this download.{You don't need to have all
the repaints!} Either simulator will ignore what you don't have.It will also allow for ease of use in installing additional repaints.
I highly recommend to anyone that has downloaded my original Twinstar_ Twin_ Bonanza.zip, replace it with this download!

| Omni Air International OAI 1998 AI Flightplans |
|
File Description:
Omni Air International started flying in 1997 with a pair of DC-10-30s while a 3rd was added in late 1998. The airline was operationally based in MSP, with LAS as a "focus city" where Omni maintains a strong presence to this day. OAI did all sorts of flying, from tour group/holiday package flights to LAS and HNL, to military charters(which often used HNL/DFW/PSM/FRA), to large group charters such as for college sports teams. There were also many re-positioning flights to get the aircraft to/from the next/last charter. I used to see them frequently at SFO, and obviously MSP. These representative plans are based on a combination of photos, what I remember seeing myself at the time, and information from a friend who was an Omni flight attendant at the time as to specific routes and happenings at the company in the late 1990s. AIM DC-10-30 texture by Jason King is on Avism as "aim_dc1030_omni_air_international.zip". Flightplans by Chasen Richardson. Part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. | Montana Unleashed! - Part One |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Montana Unleashed! Part 1 is the first in a two part series of a collection of airports in Montana. The majority of airports covered in Part 1 are located in the western half of the state. THIS IS A RE-UPLOAD OF A PREVIOUS UPLOADED SCENERY THAT WAS LOST DURING THE AVSIM HACK! NOTHING HAS CHANGED!
Montana Unleashed! is a collection of 14 highly detailed airports, created using Abacus' EZ-Scenery, scattered about the state of Montana and one in Washington. Do a ZipDive and check out some of the screenshots! The state of Montana, from what I've seen, seems to have been very neglected by scenery makers over the years which is surprising considering the beautiful and varied landscapes the state has to offer. There's some very cool approaches at many of these airports. The size of the airports vary from large all the way down to small county airports meaning you can fly just about any kind and size of aircraft with these sceneries. Fly your Delta 737 from Salt Lake to Bozeman. Fly your shiny new Skywest EMB-120 from Missoula to Billings. Or fly your Piper Cub from Havre City to Choteau and on to Dillon. It's all here!

| Winchelsea Airport (8NJ0), NJ |
|
File Description:
Located 01 miles W of Port Republic, New Jersey, Winchelsea Airport is a private turf strip. Pay very, very close attention to the published length of this grass runway: 980'. This is in addition to 50ft tree obstacles at either end of the runway. Double-check your aircraft's takeoff and landing distances before visiting this airfield!! A strong headwind is suggested for operations out of this location. Also take note the traffic patterns vary for each runway. There are no transient services offered and the airport is not lit at night so daytime VFR use only is suggested. There is no hard surface runway so set your terrain mesh slider as high as you can for the best effect of landing on terrain.
Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person.
This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 003. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.
