File Description: Tips and Tricks Number 18 - January 2006 Edition. A collection of useful ideas and recommendations to start your New Year off right. Included is the popular "From the E-Mail Bag" department which answers a question of general interest. Additionally, several readers have provided a few items which I think will provide a chuckle or two. Updated indexes by John Burford for the entire series in Excel (xls) and Adobe Acrobat (pdf) formats are included. As usual, I have attempted to include something of value for everyone, regardless of your experience level. Please unzip to a temporary location using the folders option. Compiled in .doc and .pdf formats for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

Outer Terrain Textures - Final Version

File Description: This is the final version of my Outer Terrain textures. This version contains a complete set of 26 textures (25 land, 1 water) and includes water transition tiles for 13 of the 25 land textures. Adding water transitions for the other land textures would take forever so I picked 13 of the most likely and obvious candidates and ignored the remainder. The total number of base, variation and textures tiles is now 1131! The zip file contains: (1) A new GENTILES.TAG file. (2) The 26 base textures as TarGA image files. (3) A copy of the RULES.TXT file originally provided with the last beta release. (4) A tile transition spreadsheet (Excel and OpenOffice formats)

For default airport. Based on Norway AIP except for General and Military Aviation parkings: runways, taxiways and lights are exactly accurate, 17 gates provided, plus 7 GA parkings and 4 MA parkings. Moreover, runway 14/32 has been closed, new frequencies added, De-Icing areas come with new lights; dedicated gates to all the airlines serving this airport. Details in "ZipDive!". Enjoy it.

Lewiston-Nez Perce KLWS

File Description:
Located in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho, Lewiston-Nez Perce County Airport is served by Horizon Air and Skywest Airlines. This scenery is based on aerial photos from Google Earth and other sources. Pretty much everything except the runways has been moved or rebuilt to be more accurate. All default buildings have been replaced. Some general aviation AI traffic is included.

Eastern Sierra Regional Airport (KBIH)

File Description:
This is a scenery update for Estern Sierra Regional airport. Taxiways, runways, aprons, were resized and moved to their real-world locations. Buildings were also moved and adjusted. Satellite images from Google Earth were used for accuracy. Many default scenery objects were placed from the FSX scenery libraries. View Readme file for installation and notes. Compiled using Airport Design Editor.
