| Flight Simulator Scenery Tutorial - How to decompile, edit, and recompile default scenery object BGL files |

File Description:
This is a simple tutorial in a dual format, one HTML for web-based reading and the other for reading within Microsoft Word. The tutorial contains a thorough, step-by-step process on editing default scenery object BGL files within Flight Simulator. It covers everything from the task of decompiling the stock BGL file using BGLXML or NewBGLAnalyze, editing it using SceneGenX scenery Generator and Notepad, and recompiling the source code XML into a BGL file again by using the BGLCOMP SDK. This tutorial was the result of a request by a fellow scenery creator, in combination to my quest for further increasing the realism of one of Flight Simulator's stock airports (Sanderson Field, Shelton, WA). There's specific instructions, and a final word on the touchy topic of editing stock BGL files contained within the tutorial as well.

AITTP 2021 v5.1 AI Taxispeed and Timeout Patcher for P3D v5.1 (Latest version v5.1.12.26829 HF1) including backwards compatibility to all v4.x and all v3.x previous versions of P3D. This utility will allow you to select your AI aircraft taxispeed if you desire to increase or decrease this setting (range from 20 kts up to 40 kts in intervals). Also you can select your AI aircraft timeout settings (range 5:00 minutes up to 15:00 minutes in intervals). Check your current speed and time settings, create backup and/or restore functions. Just unzip in folder/drive location of your choice and start -exe to use. Included Readme.txt gives easy to follow steps. Easy to use program for P3D only, FSX support has been eliminated. Latest version v5.1 (5.1.0.0) adds support for P3D v5.1 (Latest version v5.1.12.26829 HF1) including all v4.x and all v3.x P3D versions. This folder contains a repaint for the Aerplane Heaven Curtiss Helldiver in the colors of S2C-5 MM4693 86-42 of the 86 Gruppo Antisom of the Italian Air Force, based in Grottaglie, 1952. Italy’s experience with the Helldiver was brief but interesting. In 1950, when the first post-WWII formal rearmament plan was put forward, the Italian navy identified as a priority obtaining a surplus American light aircraft carrier, with appropriate air wing. A team was sent to Naval Air Station Corpus Christi TX, where two pilots trained and qualified on the Helldiver, later practicing carrier operations aboard USS Midway (CV-41) where four more pilots earned US Navy carrier wings. In September 1952, two surplus Helldivers were presented to the Italian navy as a gift by the USA. The two planes were delivered to Naples, Italy.
Unfortunately for the Italian navy, there was still a Mussolini-era law on the books called Legge 1000 Kilo (law of a thousand kilograms) which mandated that only the Italian air force could fly planes over 2,200 lbs weight. As the result of a bizarre inter-services lawsuit, the navy was forced to abandon plans for both it’s aircraft carrier wish and the Helldivers.
A total of forty-six Helldivers were eventually transferred to the Italian air force (the two former navy planes plus a further forty-four). The Italian air force assigned them to the 86th Autonomous Antisubmarine Group at Grottaglie air base, where they flew ASW missions with depth charges. The Helldiver was not popular with the Italians…as an anecdotal example, they were housed in a disused WWII-era blimp hangar. They were viewed as obsolete and too difficult to master pilots on. The crews were also not keen on flying a single-engine type on long overwater patrols.
The Italian planes were only in frontline service for about one year. In 1953, they were replaced by PV-2 Harpoons and (later) S-2 Trackers, which were much more suitable to long-range ASW missions. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aeroplane Heaven.

File Description:
On a cold March 2nd, 2000, professional commercial pilot H.G. Schmid took off from Zurich at 11:00 AM local time and so began the first stage of his first of two consecutive circumnavigations of the globe by a light aircraft. This flight was eastwards and on his return to Zurich at the end of the month, Georg took off on the westward circumnavigation. The aircraft used on these adventures was the Rutan-designed "Long-EZ", a variation of the "Vari-EZ". Each day is a separate stage and therefore there is a separate flight for each day, named accordingly. (Some days have two stages). There is a total of nineteen (19) flights. Model of the Rutan is by Olivier Marechal and available from Avsim.com or FlightSim.com. Search for either Olivier's name or the file name, HBYCT_V1.zip. There is also an update, HBYCT_P1.zip.
