Several interesting items recently came my way that I wanted to share so here we are again. Display My Favorite Picture

File Description:
MyPix Panel addon. Have you been flying so long that you have forgotton what your wife, husband, girfriend, significant other or mother-in-law looks like? This little panel addition allows you to display your favorite picture (.bmp format) by clicking on a panel icon. This can be added to virtually any panel - setups for the default b737-400 and Cessna 172sp are included. This can be used to display any .bmp formatted picture so in addition to your favorite pin-up, a chart or runway layout could be displayed - the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Unzip to a temporary folder (use folders option checked) and follow the install instructions. Compiled by David Marshall, Plano, Texas. Note: I am not responsible for how you fly if your mother-in-law's picture is displayed!

Cabin Announcements - Sampler

File Description:
Cabin Announcements Sampler. Here is a group of four "Humerous" WAV files for use as cabin announcements (at least I hope you will find them humerous). These are best used with my Inflight Music addon - InflightMusic.zip and Inflightmusic_UP.zip - available at Avsim. Unzip these files to a temporary directory (using folder names option) and follow the simple installation directions. These files are just a sampler to illustrate what you could record to make your flights more interesting! Enlist your wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend or significant other and record your own Cabin Announcements! Compiled by David "Opa" Marshall.

Inflight Music

File Description:
Inflight Music. Tested in FS2004 only. A simple addition to virtually any panel which allows the user to play their favorite music during those long and tedious flights. The display has eight programmable switches which will play MP3/WMA/WAV/MID files that are located anywhere on your computer - they do not have to be in your Sound directory. A windows explorer style interface allows you to select the proper music file which can be set to play once or loop and it allows you to set the volume. The guage I have used was written by R.L. Clark. His work is outstanding! A setup for the FS2004 default B737-400 panel is included along with all necessary files to allow you to add this to most other panels. Other uses could include Cabin Announcements. Unzip to a Temp directory (use folder names option) and follow the simple install instructions.

Pre FS2004 Reminder

File Description:
Pre FS2004 Reminder. FS Rule #1 - provide maximum computer resources for your Flight Simulator environment! If you are like me, too often I forget to close unnecessary programs before starting Flight Simulator. This little addon utility, in the form of a simple batch file, will bring up a reminder screen, allowing you to close other programs and allowing you time to do so before it starts Flight Simulator. The batch file uses an old MSDOS popup utility from the early 90's (by Robin Latham) which works just fine in Windows XP. This utility may be used in conjunction with Geoffrey Schreiber's fine Splash Screen Randomizer. Tested in Windows XP home edition and FS2004 only.

Tips and Tricks Number 20 - March 2006 Issue

File Description: Tips and Tricks Number 20 - March 2006 Edition. This issue includes a few Tips that may help solve a couple of common problems as well as several links to very interesting and useful sites. Included is the popular "From the E-Mail Bag" department which answers a question of general interest. New in this issue is a section devoted to an aircraft of historical interest. There is also a Tip which will lead you to some really exceptional AI work. An updated index by John Burford for the entire series in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format is included. As usual, I have attempted to include something of value for everyone, regardless of your experience level. Please unzip to a temporary location using the folders option.
