Sigonella AB - Sicily, Italy Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Naval Air Station Sigonella, "The Hub of the Med", is a U.S. Navy installation at NATO Base Sigonella and an Italian Air Force base in Sicily, Italy. Although a tenant of the Italian Air Force, NAS Sigonella acts as landlord to more than 40 other U.S. commands and activities. It is located 15 km west and 11 km south of the city of Catania. Sigonella also serves as an Italian base for the 41º Stormo Antisom (41st Antisubmarine Warfare Wing). Among the aircraft that fly from this island base are U.S. Air Force C-130, C-17 and C-5 airlifters as well as KC refueling aircraft and a rotating squadron of forward-deployed U.S. Navy P-3 Orions. The Italian Air Force also fields the venerable Breguet Atlantic patrol aircraft. It is one of the most frequently used stops for U.S. airlift aircraft bound from the continental United States to Southwest Asia and the Indian Ocean. Scenery contains all new 3D models and AI aircraft. Package is stand-alone but additional downloads may be helpful (see docs for details).

AI_TrafficList Download

File Description:

AI_TrafficList is a clone of Pete Dowson's TrafficLook.exe All AI (Artificial Intelligent) aircraft on the ground and in those the air are presented in tabular list that is updated as information becomes available. AI_TrafficList duplicates Traffic Look in large measure and adds these items.

The column alignments and sorting can be specified. Individual columns can be removed or included. Like TrafficLook, the columns can be moved. Both air and ground aircraft are presented simultaneously in a split screen that's adjustable. A print button produces a tab or comma delimited text file including the column headings and all data from air and ground AI craft. Finally, the update interval is adjustable.

This program (written in C# .NET) requires that your computer have Microsoft's .NET Common Language Runtime installed. This comes with XP but available for ME at the MS update site. Obviously you need FS2004 installed on a computer and Pete Dowson's FSUIPC.dll in the modules folder. AI_TrafficList is designed to be run on a networked computer connected to your FS2004 machine by Pete Dowson's WideFS. For that reason, you will have to obtain and install FSUIPC and WideFS from Pete (http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html). Direct connection to the "freeware" version of FSUIPC.dll is not supported

Starways Ltd, Douglas DC-3 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The airline was formed in 1948 to undertake freight and passenger charters from Liverpool (Speke) Airport. It also provided joyriding flights in a fleet of twin-engined Avro Anson aircraft. The airline acquired a number of Douglas DC-3s in the early fifties to operate seasonal tourist charters and built-up a network of scheduled services from Liverpool including flights to continental European destinations (Lourdes, Biarritz). In 1957 the airline purchased the larger four-engined Douglas DC-4 with another example purchased in 1958. The first DC-4 charter was flown on 8 January, 1958 between Liverpool and Southend with football supporters. In 1959 the airline introduced the turbo-prop Vickers Viscount aircraft for use on inclusive tour flights. In November 1963 Starways signed a co-operation agreement with British Eagle International Airlines. Operations continued unchanged though, running schedules from Liverpool to Glasgow and Heathrow. However, on 31st December 1963 Starways ceased operating and on 1st January 1964 British Eagle took over all the former Starways routes. The directors of Starways retained the aircraft and formed a separate company named Aviation Overhauls and then either sold or leased the aircraft to other operators. Requires the default Douglas DC-3.

St. George (KSGU) / Mesquite (67L), Utah/Nevada, Photo-Scenery (FS9 & FSX) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Covers the area between St. George, Utah and Mesquite, Nevada. To the north of St. George the Pine Valley Mountains with their foothills of scenic red sandstone loom over the city. St. George Municipal Airport (KSGU) is mostly used for general aviation but is also served by SkyWest Airlines on behalf of Delta Connection. Because of it's location on a mesa this airport can't be expanded and so a new airport is currently being built southeast of the city at the site of an abandoned airfield. The opening is expected in 2011. To the south of the city make sure, you don't miss the Virgin River Gorge where the Virgin River winds thru a long winding canyon in the transition zone between the red rocks of southern Utahs Colorado Plateau and Nevadas Mojave Desert. Shortly afterwards you reach Mesquite which is situated just west of the Arizona stateline. Like nearly all Nevada cities near the stateline Mesquite is home to several Casinos. Mesquite Airport (67L) lies just north of the city. High resolution versions of this scenery for FS9 and FSX (much sharper, but larger and multiple downloads) are available at www.blueskyscenery.com/CNY_South3West6.html . The screenies are taken from the high-res versions, so expect this version to be slightly more blurry. Thanks to Joop Mak for providing custom AFCADs that correct airport layouts so that they align with the photo-textures! They are available at www.blueskyscenery.com/AFCADs.html . TNCB - Flamingo Airport (Bonaire) Download

File Description:
Welcome to one of the 3 ABC's beautifull dutch island, Bonaire. Flamingo Intl. is an international airport located at Kralendijk, Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles. Flamingo Airport serves as a connecting point for flights of KLM to some destinations in South America. It once served as a hub for BonaireExel, BonaireExpress,CuraçaoExel, CuraçaoExpress and now serves Dutch Antilles Express as it's secondary hub & also "EZAir" serves Bonaire as its main airline, although the airline itself is based at Curaçao. It is the 3rd largest airport in the Netherlands Antilles behind St.Maarten's Princess Juliana International Airport & Curaçao's Hato International Airport and is the 4th largest between the islands of the Dutch Kingdom behind the already mention St. Maarten, Curaçao & Aruba's Queen Beatrix International Airport. Arkefly, Continental, Delta & KLM are currently the largest airline operators that operate flights to Bonaire. The airport is large enough to accommodate most international widebody airliners such as the Boeing 747, the Boeing 777 and the Airbus A340, although the largest widebody type to operate to Bonaire today is the MD11. It can also accommodate medium sized aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A310 as well as small aircraft such as the de Havilland Dash 8, ATR 42 and other such turboprop aircraft.

New Night Textures - Newark Liberty Intl (KEWR) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Some time ago, I purchased the Newark Liberty Intl (KEWR) by ImagineSim, but the night textures did not seem realistic. I set out to try to make them more so. This is the result of that work. Many of the scenery's night textures have been updated. The cargo areas for FedEx, UPS and UNITED Cargo now look much more realistic. The Marriott Hotel, the centerpiece of the airport and this scenery, looks considerably more realistic, as well as the terminals and the Continental Hanger and maintenance area. One of the nice unexpected results of this change is the light splash effect around the terminals; it definitely outlines the terminal area well. For those who own this scenery, I hope this enhances your flight experiences in and out of KEWR. For those who do not yet own this, but enjoy or would like to fly in and out of KEWR, it is now considered a legacy product by ImagineSim. As a result, the price was cut considerably and for a few shillings and this update, you'll have a nice addition to the airports in your FS2004 environment. I dedicate this work to all the controllers of VATSIM NYARTCC. I hope this brings more traffic your way. I want to thank ImagineSim for giving me permission to release these textures. See Readme.txt for installation instructions.

Stewart CZST and CAC9 in British Columbia Canada, plus Hyder 4Z7 in AK Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Stewart is in northern British Columbia, around 115 miles north of Terrace, 70 miles northeast of the open sea, and 2 miles from the Canada/US border at the head of a fjord named the Portland Canal. Both Stewart and the nearby Hyder in AK thrived along with silver and gold mining in the early 1900's in the AK and BC interiors and in 1914 Stewart's population was over 10,000, but the current population is now less than 500. This scenery includes Stewart airport (CZST) and also Stewart floats (CAC9) plus Hyder floats 4Z7 which is within sight of Stewart but in Alaska. 4Z7 is based upon the three FSAddon freeware and payware Alaska sceneries, and without whichever one covers Hyder (I forget which) the float base will be isolated way offshore. The Stewart airport is adjacent to the town. There is a single runway that is unlit and just under 4,000 feet of asphalt aligned 18-36, with right hand circuits on 18; a brief view of the surrounding terrain makes it quite clear why. This version is for a period around 2010 to 2012 or so, before a second fuel tank was installed. There are no regularly scheduled flights to Stewart, only GA and charters, but the airport survives with the tourist trips. I have not forgotten the signage for CZST; there isn't any. There is also no clearly defined and fenced boundary to the airport, with a gravel apron beyond the asphalt that then fades to dirt and grass and a road. Hyder has no land connection to the rest of Alaska except through Stewart and a long road trip; the only direct link is by float plane to Ketchikan, 75 miles in a straight line. The AI includes this.

RNAS Anthorn (HMS Nuthatch) - Cumbria, UK Download

File Description:
This scenery is a representation of RNAS Anthorn (HMS Nuthatch) prior to runway and taxiway upgrades completed in 1948. It is not 100% accurate and no claim is being made that it is. The scenery was made using ADE and is intended for use in FSX along with Horizon GenX VFR scenery but should work ok in Basic FSX.

Some History: Anthorn air field (also known as RAF Anthorn, RNAS Anthorn and HMS Nuthatch) was an airfield approximately 430 KM north-northwest of London The airfield was built in february 1918 as a Fleet Air Arm (FAA) airfield. It was abandoned after World War I ended, however. The RAF reinstated the airfield at the beginning of World War II as an emergency landing ground for nearby RAF Silloth. The site was taken over by the Royal Navy in December 1942, and renamed the site RNAS Anthorn. It was commissioned in September 1944 as 'HMS Nuthatch'. The airfield served as No. ARDU (Aircraft Receipt and Dispatch Unit), a unit that accepts aircraft from their manufacturers and prepares them for operational use.
The last official flight took off from the airfield in November 1957. It was then put on Care and Maintenance, before it closed down in March 1958. In 1961 the site was chosen to become a NATO VLF transmitting site for communicating with submarines. Construction of the site, by Continental Electronics of Dallas, U.S.A., began in 1962. The station was accepted on behalf of the MoD in November 1964.
