File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Grumman Goose Redux, available at OZx, in the colors of N323 (c/n 1191), one of the Gooses that flew with Catalina Air Lines between 1958 and 1970, before going to Antilles Air Boats. After being damaged during take-off in St.Vincent in 1978, it was broken up in 1985. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by the OZx team.

YCRW Crawley Bay, Western Australia, US Catalina Base - QANTAS base (Historic 1942)

File Description:
YCRW Crawley Bay USAF Catalina Base - QANTAS base (Historic 1942). This location was where the famous double sunrise flights left for Lake Koggala in Sri Lanka (Ceylon) between 1943 and 1946. Suited to Rick Stone's PBY5A Catalina. The USAF used the north side of the point and QANTAS used what is now the boat ramp at Nedlands. Remember, Perth was only about two or three stories high in those days so for a realistic enactment, totally overload the aircraft (towards the front) and just point between the buildings until you gain some height. To cover the distance, cruise at about 110kts and 500 feet. Don't forget the passengers stand at the front on takeoff and can be seated after you are in the air. Consolidated PBY-5 VP-101

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft PBY Catalina for FSX, representing PBY-5 BuNo2446. It was originally assigned to VP-23 at Pearl Harbor in November 1941, and all its aircraft were destroyed during the December 7 attacks by the Japanese. 2446 was rebuilt using parts from other PBY's and reassigned to VP-21. It flew to Perth, Western Australia in April 1942, becoming 'Boat 1' with VP-101. Lt (jg) Tom Pollock flew it with medicine and ammunition to Corregidor via Darwin just before the island surrendered in late April. 2446 was lost in action over New Guinea in August 1943, still flying with VP-101. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aerosoft. I have included two versions, one for P3Dv5 (without reflections) and one for the earlier sims (FSX/P3Dv1-4), with slight reflections. I felt these were too shiny in v5, but feel free to try for yourself.
