Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot (Part 2) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot (Part 2). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this close air support aircraft. The Su-25, known as the Grach (Rook), was put into service in 1981, was designed as a comparable aircraft to the USAF A-10 Warthog, focused on battlefield close air support. Starting with Afghanistan, the Su-25 proved itself to be an extremely versatile and survivable aircraft, and has been in service ever since. Just over 1,000 were built in various models, and have been or are operated by thirty countries. An original 8-LOD model brings this historic aircraft to the flightsim world. This is part 2, combined with Part 3, representing the Su-25 in multiple incarnations (Su-25, Su-25SM, Su-25T, Su-39, Su-25UB, Su-25UTG), in the current service of the Russian Air Force and Navy; with 34 models and 137 repaints. Aircraft, textures, and flight dynamics by Michael Pearson.

KSUU - Travis AFB - Fairfield, CA - USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is an updated version of this scenery to correct texturing errors. My thanks to the the good folks on the MAIW forums for catching and correcting this error. Situated in the San Francisco Bay Area and known as the "Gateway to the Pacific", Travis Air Force Base handles more cargo and passenger traffic through its airport than any other military air terminal in the United States. Originally laid out as a SAC base for long range bombers, the original hangar line and facilities for B-36 and B-52 aircraft have been largely rebuilt over the years to accommodate the current cargo operations of the 60th Air Mobility Wing (host at Travis). The 60th supports and deploys both the C-5 Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster as well as its own refueling squadrons of KC-10 Tankers. In addition, the base's former SAC alert facility now supports 2 transient Navy E-6B Mercury TACAMO aircraft detached from Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.

FSX/FS2004 USAF MATS C-133A Cargomaster 562008 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the Douglas C-133A Cargomaster in the USAF MATS scheme. The freeware Douglas C-133 Cargomaster by Tim Conrad is needed for this repaint - link provided. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FSX & FS2004. Textures for FS2004 users are included. Textures are 32bit DDS & DXT3 BMP. In November 1958 562008 was assigned to the 1607th Air Transport Wing (Heavy), of the Military Air Transport Service (MATS), at Dover AFB, Delaware. On December 16 1958, this aircraft set a world record for propeller-driven aircraft, by lifting a cargo payload of 117,900 lbs to 10,000 ft. In January 1966, under a unit reorganization which included the 1607th ATW, 562008's new unit became the 436th Military Airlift Wing of the Military Airlift Command at Dover AFB. It made its last flight on March 17 1971. It is now on display at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base museum, Ohio.

Amundsen-Scott Station Download

File Description:
The Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station is the American scientific research station on the high plateau of Antarctica. This station is located at the southernmost place on the Earth, the Geographic South Pole, at an elevation of 2,835 meters (9301 feet) above sea level. Since the Amundsen-Scott Station is located at the South Pole, it is at the only place on the land surface of the Earth where the sun is continuously up for six months and then continuously down for six months. (The only other such place is at the North Pole, on the sea ice in the middle of the Arctic Ocean.) Thus, during each year, this station experiences one extremely long "day" and one extremely long "night". During the six-month "day", the angle of elevation of the Sun above the horizon varies continuously. The sun rises on the September equinox, reaches its maximum angle above the horizon on the summer solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, around 20 December, and sets on the March equinox. During the six-month "night", it gets extremely cold at the South Pole, with air temperatures sometimes dropping below -73°C (-100°F). This is also the time of the year when blizzards, sometimes with gale-force winds, strike the Amundsen-Scott Station. The continuous period of darkness and dry atmosphere make the station an excellent place from which to make astronomical observations. This file has the apron and characteristics of the airport the coordenates are placed as far south as FS allow it.

RAF Bircham Newton - Norfolk, England Download

File Description:
RAF Bircham Newton is a former Royal Air Force station located 2.1 miles (3.4 km) south east of Docking, Norfolk and 13.4 miles (21.6 km) north east of King's Lynn, Norfolk, England.

The site was first used during the First World War and received the largest British bomber of the time, the Handley Page V/1500. They would have carried out bombing missions against Berlin but the Armistice was arranged before any missions were actually flown.

The airfield was equipped with one aircraft repair shed and three double bay general service sheds, although these had been demolished by 1937. It had two Belfast hangars, three C Type hangars, three Bellman hangars and ten Blister hangars. It operated through the Second World War as part of No. 16 Group RAF as part of Coastal Command.

No. 206 Squadron RAF was one of the squadrons being based there, on maritime patrol duties. Two satellite airfields, RAF Docking and RAF Langham were opened to accommodate units. In 1965 the airfield was used for evaluation trials of the Hawker Siddeley Kestrel V/STOL aircraft.

After closure as an operational airfield in 1966, the airfield became the home of the Construction Industry Training Board. The runways have gone, but the majority of buildings on the site, including some hangars and the control tower, remain in use by the CITB.The control tower was demolished in 2010 due to its poor condition. Constructionarium is also based within the estate, providing a week's practical learning opportunity for undergraduates

These are reflective textures for Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson's great GMAX DC-6B Super Cloudmaster. They represent a Balair DC-6B, Swiss registration HB-IBS / cn 45531, one of the last DC-6s to fly regularly in Europe. This ship flew numerous European routes for Balair, the charter arm of Swiss Air out of Basle-Mulhouse, France and Zurich, Switzerland during the 1970s and early 1980s. It was eventually sold to a Canadian operator in Sept 1982.
