RAS2008 Spitfire PR.XIX Contra-Prop PS890 Download

File Description:
A repaint of the RealAir Spitfire 2008 Contra-Prop MkXIV as a PR.XIX Spitfire A well-travelled aircraft, PS890 was originally delivered to RAF Benson in 1945. In 1954 it was transferred to the Royal Thai Air Force, then in 1962 was donated by King Bhumibel to the Air Museum at Claremont, California. During its rebuild its wings were clipped and it was fitted with a Shackleton engine with contra-rotating props, then flown by Planes of Fame in Chino. In 2005 it was sold to the French collector, Christophe Jacquard, who took it to Duxford to have the wing tips replaced. It is now based at Dijon-Darois, airport, France. Some say that the Spitfire XIX is "the most beautiful aircraft of them all".

File Description:
RAF Down Ampney (ICAO X2DA) was a Royal Air Force station located 1.8 miles (2.9 km) north east of Cricklade, Wiltshire and 3 miles (4.8 km) south west of RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire. The airfield operated during World War II from February 1944 until February 1947. Down Ampney was part of a group of 3 airfields with RAF Broadwell and RAF Blakehill Farm dedicated to air transportation. No. 48 Squadron RAF and No. 271 Squadron RAF flew Douglas Dakotas on major missions. On D-Day they dropped the main elements of the 3rd Parachute Brigade in Normandy as well as towing Airspeed Horsa gliders across the English Channel. KRND - Randolph AFB - Universal City, Texas Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
In August 1926 it was determined that the facilities at Kelly Field and Brooks Field in Texas (which had been erected for training purposes in World War I) were insufficient for proper training. During the design stage a 1st Lt Harold Clark designed a model four-quadrant airfield having a circular layout of facilities between parallel runways which allowed full-time operations without having to overfly the hangars and base buildings as at Kelly and Brooks. Named Randolph Field the base soon became the primary training facility for all Army Air Corp and then Air Force Pilots. Currently housing the 12th Flying Training Wing providing instructor pilot and refresher training in the T-6A Texan II, T-38C Talon and T-1A Jayhawk.

Bardenas Reales Firing Range Version 1.0 Download

File Description:
Photorealistic scenery of the Firing Range of Bardenas Reales, in Navarra, Spain, close to LEZG ( N42º10.6',W1º28.0'). Created on 1951, this range was the practice area for air to surface weapons for the spanish air force pilots of EF18M, F1M, F5M and AV8 harriers. Usually is used for other allied forces like USAF F16. Actually the use of the firing range is decreasing @ 20% of the full capacity of 100 operations by day. Only textures 4.75 m/pixel, we recomend mesh EVA4,(http://www.airhispania.com/eva/eva.htm) or similar containing detailed topo of spain. Created By Jose Ramon Rodriguez ( this a present to all my friends of Virtual ZAragoza Airbase - www.basezaragozavirtual.tk -, specially to Diego Novillo by his support and illusion in this, and other projects, thx.

Fort Nelson CYYE in British Columbia, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Fort Nelson is close to the Peace River in the northeast corner of British Columbia, around 70 miles from the northern border, 90 from the eastern border, and 80 miles east of the Rockies. The wartime construction of the Alaska Highway actually started from Fort Nelson, as there was already a road from Fort St John (which is close to Dawson Creek) north to Fort Nelson. The airfield was part of this construction effort and after the wartime ferrying of planes to Russia it was used by the US Army Air Force and then by the Canadian Air Force. Fort Nelson flourished with the oil and gas exploration of the 1950's and the following years, and this continued to grow until the collapse of the oil price in 2014. The town of Fort Nelson became the capital of the Northern Rockies Regional District when it was founded in 2009, and as a result the official name of the Fort Nelson airport is the Northern Rockies Regional Airport. The date for this scenery is around 2016, by which time the economic fortunes of the town were in decline. Five times per day flights by Central Mountain Air were starting to be reduced in number to the current (in 2022) one per day and none on Sunday; in the AI included here there are two flights per day. The main resident users of the airport are four helicopter companies, the helicopters presumably used for maintenance trips to whatever parts of the oil and gas fields that are still in use in the surrounding area. There are two runways, the main one is aligned 03-21, 6,400 feet long and 200 feet wide, with ILS at the southern end and PAPI at the northern. The second runway (a narrower rebuild on a previously existing runway) is aligned 07-25 and 77 feet wide, and is without any lights. These are the alignments as per the original build of FS9 and not as per the approximate 2016 date of the buildings; I had a problem at a very late stage in making this scenery which prevented me from continuing with some final details. On YouTube there is a series of posts by Angle of Attack showing the preparation and then the flight of an old Cessna 172 from Homer to Oshkosh for the installation of modern instruments. Interesting for me as they visit or fly over airfields I have made (Homer, Merrill, Tok Junction, Burwash, Silver City, Haines Junction, Watson Lake, Fort Nelson, and Grande Prairie) but in the winter so it all looks very different.

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Included are two spreadsheets, one for Excel, one for Open Office, to use with Just Flight's "Air Hauler" to quickly arrive at the best possible combination of jobs to fly with your preferred aircraft, from your current location. Version 2.0 includes significant improvements - up to 1,300 jobs, and a report with up to 30 jobs. The most lucrative string of jobs is automatically created, based on your starting location, aircraft, fuel requirements, range, and the weight of the cargo. Macro security in Excel or Open Office must be set to "low", to allow the running of macros. If you do not do that, this utility will not work. If you have questions feel free to contact me (my email address is in the readme file). Dan Cowan
