File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of ZK-AQS of the NZNAC. This was an ex USAAF C-47B-25-DK, 44-76363, that went to the RNZAF in 1945 as NZ3535 and in 1947 to the NZNAC, named Purourou. After it was withdrawn from NZNAC service in 1966 it went to Australian Aircraft Sales, and was sold to Far East Air Transport (FAT) in Taiwan in 1968 as B-255. Its ultimate fate is unknown to me. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 version 3.14, based on the paintkit by Gman5250.

These effects files (activated by the smoke system) allow you to visually simulate a severe engine fire on the eighteen default aircraft, as well as six non-default, freeware add-on aircraft including Milton Shupe's Beechcraft D-18s and Howard 500, Edward Cook's Vickers Wellington, Bob Chicilo's A6M2 Zero and TBF-1 Avenger (default CFS2 aircraft updated for use in FS9), and Gary Herbert's B-17G "Lazy Lucy". FS2002/2004 Inchon Intl Airport scenery "the Winged City" v1.0 is the most realistic freeware scenery of Inchon Intl Airport (RKSI) in Korea. RKSI is the largest airport in Korea and ranked sixth airport in handling cargo(2002). File Description:
On June 28, 1942, RAF Polebrook was officially turned over to the USAAF and the airbase became the base of the 97th Bombardment Group, the first USAAF heavy bomber organization to arrive in the UK. It was designated USAAF Station 110.
The 97th BG was assigned to the 1st Combat Wing, at RAF Bassingbourn. It's operational squadrons were divided between Polebrook and RAF Grafton Underwood:
340th Bomb Squadron (RAF Polebrook)
341st Bomb Squadron (RAF Polebrook)
The 97th BG conducted a total of 14 missions from Polebrook, attacking airfields, marshalling yards, industries, naval installations, and other targets in France and the Low Countries.
The group sortied 247 aircraft, dropped 395 tons of bombs on Nazi-controlled territory, and lost 14 aircraft. On October 21, 1942, the 97th Bomb Group was transferred to the Twelfth Air Force in the Mediterranean theater and Polebrook was unoccupied until April 1943.
351st Bombardment Group (Heavy)
On April 15, 1943, the 351st Bomb Group arrived at RAF Polebrook. It was assigned to the 94th Combat Wing, also at Polebrook. The group tail code was a "Triangle J". It's operational squadrons were:

510th Bomb Squadron (TU)
511th Bomb Squadron (DS)
Boeing B-17G-85-BO Flying Fortress, Serial 43-38465 of the 510th Bomb Squadron. This aircraft survived the war and returned to USA on 8 June 1945
Douglas-Long Beach B-17G-30-DL Flying Fortress Serial 43-38116 of the 509th Bomb Squadron.The 351st's first completed combat mission took place on May 14, 1943, when 18 B-17's targeted a German Luftwaffe airfield at Kortrijk, Belgium. As the war progressed, the 351st operated primarily against strategic objectives in Germany, striking such targets as ball-bearing plants at Schweinfurt, communications at Mayen, marshalling yards at Koblenz, a locomotive and tank factory at Hannover, industries at Berlin, bridges at Cologne, an armaments factory at Mannheim, and oil refineries at Hamburg.This is for FSX and you will need to have Ted Andrews's RAF Hangars Library and his other great RAF Buildings. They can
be found on AVSIM. Search the FSX section for "Ted Andrews" - you'll find loads of his scenery object files for
RAF airfields. Follow his instructions on how to install them.

All others mentioned are freely distributed at various download sites.
Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary location and follow the installation instructions very carefully. Do not attempt to install this scenery with a "scenery manager" - for proper installation please use the built in installation routine.

"Tongass Remote Airfield" v2 (RATR) Alaskan bush flying scenery (Fictitious).
This airstrip is for Flight Simulator 2004 and for the "Tongass Fjords" (FS9) addon by Holger Sandmann & Bill Womack; you must have "Tongass Fjords" (FS9) for this to work. Version 2 is a detailed, stand alone, remake of the first version, see PDF file.
Field history and description:
In the early days this area was well known to prospectors and hunters. A small mine was established and later abandoned. Around the late 40s a crew was contracted to clear a small landing area to gain easier access for hunters and campers. Due to the extreme remoteness of this area that clearing took several years. The last phase was the approach, clearing by hand a descending glide slope through just the tops of the tall trees. There is now just enough room for a very experienced pilot to get in and out of this field. The airfield is 26 miles north of Petersburg Alaska (PAPG). This is a tricky narrow approach with a left hand dogleg and then an immediate right hand dogleg turn just before the final approach. Not much time to set up your approach; also, it's a very short runway. For experienced pilots only, and make sure that your life insurance is up to date. Good luck.

Steamboat Springs (KSBS), Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Colorado, Photo-Scenery (FS9 & FSX)
The Flat Tops Wilderness Area, which is the second largest wilderness area in Colorado, is named for its many flat topped mountains that are clearly visible from the sky. Trappers Lake, located in the north of the area inspired Arthur Carhart, a US Forest Service official, to initiate a plea for Wilderness preservation as early as 1919. Finally in 1975, three years before his death in 1978, the Flat Tops were designated a wilderness area. No wonder he found the area so entrancing: Behind Trappers Lake loom majestic volcanic cliffs, and beyond them a vast subalpine terrain reluctantly yields to alpine tundra with an average elevation of about 10.000 feet. More than 100 lakes dot the country above and below numerous flat-topped cliffs. Steamboat Springs is an internationally known winter resort destination.
To explore the scenery depart from Steamboat Springs Airport (KSBS) or Yampa Valley Airport (KHDN) and head south. High resolution versions of this scenery for FS9 and FSX (much sharper, but larger and multiple downloads) are available at www.blueskyscenery.com/GNB_West2.html . The screenies are taken from the high-res versions, so expect this version to be slightly more blurry. At 4:30 A.M. on May 10, 1940, three Junkers Ju 52's took off from the Cologne airfields of Ostheim and Butzweilerhof, towing behind them three other aircraft that lacked motors. The first front service of a new weapon, the freight glider, developed by the DFS (Deutsche Forschungsanstalt fur Segelflug / German Research Institute for Sailplane Flight), had begun. A total of 41 DFS-230 freight gliders with 400 paratroopers were launched for this mission. It was their task to take the Belgian Fort Eben Emael near Maastrich. With this successful operation the crossing of the Albert Canal was secured and the cornerstone of Belgian defense fell in German hands.
These assault gliders were also used during the Krete invasion (1941). The DFS 230's last significant use was during the 'Eichen' operation: 10 assault gliders were used to deliver the group of hand picked commandos led by Otto Skorzeny against the Gran Sasso mountain-top hotel that was used to hold Mussolini. The Royal Italian Air Force (Regia Aeronautica) received from Luftwaffe, during 1941, almost 20 DFS-230 and 4 Gotha Go-242 assault gliders. These aircrafts were used only for pilot training until 09/1943.

The Airbus A380 is a doubledecker, four-engined airliner manufactured by Airbus S.A.S. It first flew on April 27, 2005 from Toulouse, France. Commercial flights should begin in 2006 after 15 months of testing. During much of its development, the aircraft was known as the Airbus A3XX. The A380 is now the largest passenger airliner, topping the Boeing 747, which was the largest for 35 years. However, the Antonov An-225 retains the record of being the world's largest commercial aircraft.
The media has termed the A380 a "superjumbo", with some comparing it to Howard Hughes's Spruce Goose. The first A380 prototype was unveiled during a ceremony in Toulouse, France, on January 18, 2005. Its manufacturer's serial number is 001, and is registered as F-WWOW. The new Airbus will initially be sold in two versions: the A380-800, carrying 555 passengers in a three-class configuration or up to 800 passengers in a single-class economy configuration. Expected range for the -800 model is 8,000 nautical miles (14,800 km). The second model, the A380-800F dedicated freighter, will carry 150 tons of cargo 5,600 miles (10,400 km). Airbus made the cockpit layout, procedures and handling characteristics similar to those of other Airbus aircraft to reduce crew training costs. Likewise, he A380 features a glass cockpit and side-stick flight controller.
