File Description:
This is the first in a series of missions on challenging approaches and landings. The mission begins with you are approaching SBG VOR, enroute to Innsbruck, Austria, LOWI. As you approach Rattenberg NDB, ATC commands 200 KIAS and 9500' to intercept RTT (Goal 1). You are also advised to enter a holding pattern at RTT, your fix, to allow time for snow removal from the runway. The pattern is standard right-hand turns with 1.5 minute legs and 200 knots at 9500'. The inbound track is 226°, while outbound is 46°. Winds are high, so you will have to compensate to stay aligned in the pattern and certify (Goal 2). Next up is to achieve a stabilized approach on the steep glide slope to runway 25 as Goal 2. The final goal is a safe full stop landing on runway 26 at elevation 1894' The descent is near 4° gradient and the runway VOR (111.1) is offset to the right, thus the “challengeâ€. Complete all three goals and you certify to fly to LOWI and receive a Reward.

File Description:
This utility was written to simplify the process of finding the ILS frequency when ATC assigns an ILS approach. Operation is simple. Enter the ICAO, click the Search button and a list of all runways, runway lengths and runway ILS frequencies for that ICAO are displayed. Here's the quick part... Just double click on a runway and the ILS frequency will instantly be set in the Nav1 radio. You can also start Flight Simulator, load a flightplan and then start Quick ILS. It will automatically read the flightplan and then display the destination airport's runway data. Again, just double click on the assigned runway to set the Nav1 radio for the ILS approach. ILS data aside, General Aviation fans may want to use Quick ILS to get information about possible destination airports. Enter an ICAO and you can quickly view the runways available, their length, the surface (ie grass, gravel, paved...) and the runway headings. Version 3.1.5 adds the ILS ID to the display. | Little Port Walter for Holger Sandmann's Tongass Fjords scenery |

File Description:
This is a second fish farm at the southern end of Baranof Island and Chatham Strait in southern Alaska. Big Port Walter is named on the chart of the area, and there is a section of the chart included here. Little Port Walter is a much smaller offshoot bay, sheltered from the weather and ideal for a fish farm. This scenery is designed specifically for use in the Tongass Fjord scenery. I may have incorrectly identified Tongass Fjords as being required for Hawk Logging when Glacier Bay is needed. Ah well, it is one or the other of them. The fish farm (or hatchery, the description varies) has an identifying code so it will show up on a gps as PWL. There is no interaction with atc as there are no designated water runways, so PWL on the gps just acts as a waypoint. There will be further posts for use with Tongass Fjords, Misty Fjords, and Glacier Bay, and I still find these scenery areas by Holger and his crew the most satisfying in FS9.
