Mesa Verde National Park is famed for its numerous ruins of cliff dwellings built in the 12th century by ancient Pueblo people called Anasazi. Cliff dwellings are highly defensible stone villages situated under alcoves (rock overhangs) along the canyon walls. The largest cliff dwelling in the park is Cliff Palace, which is the largest cliff dwelling in North America. Cliff Palace contained 150 rooms and housed approximately 100 people. Unfortunately you won't see the cliff dwellings from the air, because they are under the cliffs but you will see everything else like all roads, trails and facilities. Very little is known about the Anasazis and the reason for their sudden departure at the end of the 13th century remains a mystery. Theories range from crop failures due to droughts to an intrusion of foreign tribes from the North. The name "Mesa Verde" stems from Spanish explorers seeking for a route from Sante Fe to California. They named the region Mesa Verde (spanish for green table) because of its high, tree-covered plateaus. Grenada island is 17 miles south of the southernmost island of the Grenadines, Carriacou; there are some smaller islands between the two. Grenada is 18 miles long and around 8 miles wide, has an estimated population of 110,000, and produces a very large part of the world's annual nutmeg harvest. The capital, St Georges, is by far the largest town and is at the southern end of the island, with the airport close by.
The airport is now called Maurice Bishop, but for some years was called Point Salines. The runway is just over 9,000 feet long and oriented 10/28. Point Salines replaced Pearl Airport, which is on the east coast 12 miles northeast of St Georges and was difficult to expand as the runway had mountains at one end and the sea at the other. Pearl is now closed; it is included here but only as a visual landmark with "closed" markings. There are regular international flights from North America and Europe, some of which are seasonal only (Air Canada for instance) and local connecting flights by LIAT and SVG. I retained the default control tower as it is some distance away. In real life it is also some distance away and on a hill northwest of the terminal. Which is why I did not take photos from which I would have made the real one. The hill does not feature in FS9.

| Avro Lancastrian II |

File Description:
A close derivative of the war-time Lancaster bomber, the Lancastrian was
fitted with streamlined nose and tail cones. Lancastrians were used as
long-range freighters, VIP transports, and jet engine test beds by the
RAF, as fast long-range airliners and mailplanes by Trans Canada Air
Lines, BOAC, BSAA, QUANTAS, and Alitalia, and as tankers by Flight
Refuelling Ltd. Charter operators were Skyways and Silver City.
Eighty-two aircraft were build, but most of them had vanished in
scrapyards by the early nineteen-fifties. In the immediate post-war
years, TCA offered twice-weekly Lancastrian flights from Dorval, Canada,
to Prestwick and London, while BOAC and BSAA (under chief pilot D.C.T.
Bennett) operated flights to Australia and South America, all based on a
rather uneconomical ratio of five crew to up to fourteen passengers. The
outbound leg from Hurn to Learmouth, Australia, took three days and well
over fifty hours flying time, with Lydda, Karachi, and Ceylon serving as
staging posts. BSAA's London to Buenos Aires flight took 56 hours.
Either way, one needs to have plenty of time on one's hands to recreate
these epic journeys. Gmax exterior model and textures by Manfred Jahn,
FDE and 2D panel by Paul Edwards (based on a panel by Phil Perrott of
Alphasim). The three texture sets included represent VM734 of 246
Squadron RAF, G-AGLY ("Norfolk") of BOAC, and G-AKFG of Flight
Refuelling Ltd.

File Description:
RAF Kimbolton is a former Royal Air Force station located 8 miles (13 km) west of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England.
The airfield was originally built in 1941 for RAF Bomber Command, then expanded to Class A airfield standards for use by American heavy bombers during 1942. Kimbolton was assigned to the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) Eighth Air Force. It was given the designation USAAF Station 117.

This repaint "converts" the original charcoal black F-15"E" into a JASDF Mitsubishi F-15"DJ" painted in the Air Superiority Grey camo scheme. This version represents a jet from the 305th TFS based at Nyutabaru AB, Japan. In addition, I upgraded the F-15E's weapon textures so the Air to Air missles are low-viz grey (instead of white) in both "LIVE" and "INERT" textures!
