This is the fifth in a series of new and renovated float bases in BC. Echo Bay is a floating marina on the northwest coast of Gilford Island, just 6 miles northwest of Health Bay (the previous post in this series). It is run by a beard called Pierre and his wife, and the food seems to attract crowds. Watch the video, and others about the marina; some of the more interesting buildings are replicated here, others are representative. There is no fuel or oil available but you can post a letter as there is a post office in the store that sells food etc to boaters. The AI is a further adaptation of the CF36 AI and involves a Baxter Beaver flying from Port Hardy on a round trip in the area through Port McNeill, Health Bay, Echo Bay, and Sullivan Bay, plus Harbour Air from Vancouver, and small GA. At Echo Bay the AI appears to work for both landing and takeoff for the Beaver and sometimes for the Otter, depending on wind direction. All of these float bases can be installed together in the same folders, with a saving in duplicate textures. So a series called BC Floats (or whatever you want to call it) or individually installed float bases; your choice. The next in the series will be Sullivan Bay, another floating marina. I have used what was a RWY12 boat here, but my RWY12 no longer includes the "Port and Sea" part that included this and other boats. Somewhere I must still have the textures as they are showing up as required, but I cannot find them to include them here. Hopefully your installation will find them on your hard drive and use them. If not, complain to me and I will attempt to demonstrate diligence.

A highly classified small fleet of passenger aircraft known as "Janet" is operated for the United States Air Force to transport military and contractor employees. It mainly serves the Nevada National Security Site (most notably Area 51 (AR51) and Tonopah Test Range (TNX), from their terminal at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport (KLAS). The planes are also used to fly to/from Air Force Plant 42 (KPMD), Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (KNID), Hill Air Force Base (KHIF), and Edwards Air Force Base (KEDW). I encourage you to locate, download, and install the AFCAD files or scenery add-ons associated to these airports from any source you desire, but make sure they are designed for FSX. The fleet's "Janet" call sign, from which its de facto name comes, is said to stand for "Just Another Non-Existent Terminal", or more likely "Joint Air Network". Everything is realistic in this model, now, and most simmers know how inaccurate the original FSX 737-800 was. However, this aircraft simulates the accuracy of a 737-600 BBJ-ER, if there ever was one built. I modified everything to fit that aspect, except for the visual model. The engine characteristics are correct as well as all weight/balance and MOI. I even fixed the wheels to be accurate in base, track and pressure size. Everything I've done here is for educational purposes without any expectation of any monetary gain, and offered publicly for free. Read the Readme.txt file for installation and details. Puntzi Mountain is near a village called Chilanko Forks, approximately midway between Bella Coola and Williams Lake and just north of the Chilcotin to Bella Coola Highway. It is what remains of a military base and which currently shows in FS9 as a town, reduced in my scenery version to what remains after the base was closed and cleared. All that remains of the base is now the runway, over 6,000 feet of asphalt aligned 04-22, unlit, at 2,985 feet above sea level, and with centre line markings that are almost invisible. The runway is used in the summer for whatever local fire-fighting operations are needed by ConAir and there are some buildings and fuel tanks for this. It is also used for local flights such as those for a lodge on Puntzi Lake to the north. I have added three AT-802 textures with additional tail numbers for use in the AI. These are to be added to an aircraft that you very likely already have and which was included in Don Grovestine's posting of Abbotsford CYXX. I have also included the revised config file that adds the planes to Don's original; save the original config under another name and replace it with mine. Put the three new texture folders in with the original, which is called "CYXX-AI_Air Tractor AT-802 (Wheels)". If you do not have Don's scenery I suggest you get it, as his work is worth having and like Greg Putz he puts in a lot more effort than I do. The L188 Electra should already be with you if you downloaded my Smithers CYYD scenery. If you find a defect, email me.

If there is a tutorial online on how to make bare metal textures, I would totally make it by hand. Unfortunately there are none, and I mean like nothing at all. There was no complete tutorial or video on how to make that said texture, so I used AI to create one. I still have to sort a lot of things out like removing some of the belly and the back. There are also limited sources, both for references and decals. I made the "NORTHWEST ORIENT CARGO" Text using a Helvetica font from Fontsgeek, made my own letter "S" and used it for my livery. I had a previous version where I just used the text from a high quality Flickr photo, removed the background and added color. The references are limited for the "NORTHWEST CARGO" Livery specifically, as it seems like there are only 2 available photos of N618US with that exact livery. One in Facebook and another from Flickr (if I can remember). I also am not sure if the "CARGO" Text is a very dark shade of blue, or just black. If someone could verify that it is black, feel free to contact me so I can change it!
After this, I'll make the N800FT and N801FT liveries, but I would still have to make the JA822J 787-8 "Old Livery" of JAL.
The Livery 2 is the livery in 1977 while Livery 1 is 1979, so I may have accidentally switched it! But it is too late now...

| Silver City CFQ5 in Yukon Territory Canada |

Silver City is a ghost town in the Yukon Territory, Canada, amid the Rocky Mountains and around 35 miles northwest of Haines Junction. It is on the southern end of Kluane Lake and in the Kluane National Park and this probably explains it's (minimal) survival after what appears to have been the shutdown of mining for silver. There is little information readily available. The date of this scenery is, as usual, around 2010. There was no recent regular service by Yukon Air North or any other airline, and the primary user of the airfield adjacent to the lake is a company called Icefield Discovery Tours. Their activity is probably very similar to the company at Haines Junction and involves trips to the National Park amid mountains and glaciers. There is also another organisation at the airfield, the Kluane Lake Research Station of the Arctic Institute. They have four buildings there but it is unclear how much aerial activity they generate, or if in fact they fly at all for their work. The runway is 3,000 feet of unlit gravel, aligned north-south. This post will be followed by Burwash, which is at the far northwestern end of the lake. There is no video of the Silver City airfield on Youtube, and it is not the most exciting airfield in the world, but the location is enough in real life for a visit to be made. On YouTube there is a series of posts by Angle of Attack showing the preparation and then the flight of an old Cessna 172 from Homer to Oshkosh for the installation of modern instruments. Interesting for me as they visit or fly over airfields I have made: Homer, Merrill, Tok Junction, Burwash, Silver City, Haines Junction, Watson Lake, Fort Nelson, and Grande Prairie. But they fly in the winter so it all looks very different.

P-51D Mustang 44-14789 "Missouri Armada" flown by Capt. John "Johnny" B. England.John Brooke England was born in 1923 at Caruthersville, Missouri. His service number was O-739263 and he joined the 362nd FS of the 357th FG in April 1943 as a 1/Lt meaning that he was part of the original cadre that left the ZI in November 1943 for the UK. He was promoted to Captain and then to Major. He took command of the 362nd FS on 25 August 1944. He served two tours with the 357th FG for a total of 108 operational missions giving a total of 460 hours combat flying time. He was the second highest scorer in the 357th with a total of 17.5 victories. England finished his second tour and rotated home on 26 January 1945. He remained in the service after the war and was killed in an F-86 crash in November 1954 in France. I am proud to present this iFDG A321-211, registration 6Y-JMD, of Air Jamaica. This aircraft is unique because of its "hybrid" Air Jamaica color scheme. To my knowledge, there is none other like it in the Air Jamaica fleet. It's a bit of an anamoly unto itself. It looks well worn and its fueslage paint is not all white. It has blocks of off-white and the nose is also off-white in color. I have tried to represent those details in this repaint. This aircraft flies regular routes to KJFK, KMCO, KFLL and KORD from Jamaica. All windows are hand-painted, 3D with window shades. The night windows textures are custom as well. The repainted textures in this package are 32-bit with no mipmaps for best clarity and quality. I want to thank EJ Davis for his patience on this repaint. He requested it 1 year ago and patiently waited for me to get it done. This is a complete install and is current to iFDG A321 Service Pack 1.4. The panel and sound are from the default 747-400. Check the README file for panel and sounds suggestions.

FSX PIA Boeing 747-367, registration AP-BGG. Pakistan International Airlines B747-367 Megatop Jumbo, AP-BGG, titled "Kaghan - Mountain Paradise". Contains photoreal tail, accurately placed titles and door surround repainted to match the actual airplane. Engines repainted with large yellow stickers on the left side of the casing to match the actual airplane. Being one of the later model 747-300 aircraft to roll off the assembly line, AP-BGG has a different style wingroot and no wingtip antennas as compared to other classic 747s, and the relevant model has been included. Repainted on the Project Open Sky 747v4 Advanced model. Contains ground service vehicles, stairs, tow truck, catering trucks, luggage loaders and containers painted in standard PIA colors. Luggage containers specially repainted to give a more realistic look. Registration of the aircraft painted on the bottom of the left wing, as on the real airplane. Panel updated to include utility gauge and tow truck gauge. Updated model and fde. Complete pack, requires no external downloads. Textures in high quality 32 bit format to conserve quality. I've been intrigued by the mysterious "Janet" flights out of Las Vegas for many years. Needless to say, I couldn't wait for PMDG to get the -600 released so I could simulate those flights.
This new repaint for the AWESOME PMDG NGX 737-600 expansion differs from the PMDG house version in a few minor ways:
A new, very clean wing texture with a painted upper surface and completely new wing spec file, reducing reflection in the flat painted areas while maintaining a nice shine and fixing some bleed in the chrome on the house version. And a slightly different color mix for the engine cowlings and fuse stripe. And the last paint difference, I cleaned up the fuse dirt leaving just a small amount on the belly and giving it a fresh-from-the-paint-shop look.
Finally, I've made a new preference file (.ini) based on cockpit photos of the plane taken shortly before leaving Air China for service in the U.S. This file was created post-SP1 and should meet those standards.
The PMDG 737NGX base pack and 600/700 expansion are required. PTP file only. Install with livery manager provided with your NGX.
