| Vought OS2U Kingfisher Inshore Patrol Squadrons |
|
File Description:
Textures only for Tim "Piglet" Conrad's Vought OS2U Kingfisher. This set contains three repaints depicting four section leaders (red, white, blue & black) from a selection of Inshore Patrol Squadrons assigned to the Naval Air Stations at Cape May NJ, Quonset Point RI and Brooklyn NY. VS-2D1 at Brooklyn seems to be the only unit to receive a full compliment of twelve aircraft before the adoption of camouflage, so its plane number ten was probably the only Kingfisher in the Navy to carry black section markings. The "Neutrality Star" on the cowling signified participation in the "Neutrality Patrol," the euphemisitc term for U.S. participation in the Battle of the Atlantic in support of the Royal Navy prior to America's entry into World War Two.

File Description:
The De Havilland Heron must be the smallest four engine airliner in the world! And it can take off and land almost anywhere. This, the second in my Three Herons series, represents the Mark 2B variety with the luxury of retractable undercarriage giving improved performance. This is G-AOGO - one of nine Herons that served the airline for many years on charter work and scheduled services to the Channel Islands, West Wales and Holland from Croydon (initially) and Gatwick Airports. This package includes a high detail panel featuring many new gauges. As these gauges are common to all three in this series, these have been placed in a separate download herongg.zip. See also 3h-rnupd.zip. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM]

| Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (飛燕, "flying swallow") is a Japanese World War II fighter aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service. The Japanese Army designation was "Army Type 3 Fighter" (䏉弿ˆ¦é—˜æ©Ÿ). Allied pilots initially believed Ki-61s were Messerschmidt Bf 109s and later an Italian aircraft, which led to the Allied reporting name of "Tony", assigned by the United States War Department. It was the only mass-produced Japanese fighter of the war to use a liquid-cooled inline V engine. Over 3,000 Ki-61s were produced. Initial prototypes saw action over Yokohama during the Doolittle Raid on 18 April 1942, and continued to fly combat missions throughout the war.
