between Moscow and Havana in the Cold-War years of the 1960s.
Using "real weather", go in midwinter from Moscow via Murmansk
to subtropical Havana, Cuba, with a refueling stop in the Bahamas.
hen return non-stop from Havana to Moscow. Next fly from
Havana via Conakry in West Africa to Moscow, in the summer.
Face low visibilities and night-time operations,
as well as the jet streams.
Requires: add-on Tu-114.

File Description:
In the period after 1945 Moncton was an important alternate airport for commercial aircraft flying the North Atlantic route between Europe and the U.S.A and Canada. Like Sydney and Goose Bay, it was in a sense a satellite of the much better known Gander, which was however sometimes rendered unusable by adverse weather conditions and especially fog. This scenery is primarily intended for use in the California Classic retro environment created by Tom Gibson and the CalClassic Community, and awaits your Stratocruisers, Douglases and Constellations.

File Description:
Ken Rand's small, single-seat, retractable-gear homebuilt, built using Styrofoam and Dynel/epoxy model aircraft techniques. This model was designed using FSDS v3.51, principally for ai use, so there is a relatively low polygon-count main model, with several LOD models and a reduced-detail shadow for optimal fps. Not a short-field aircraft, it's quite streamlined and there are no flaps, so the stall speed is quite high for a small 'plane, 45kts., but as it's such fun to fly I fitted a basic VC with a functional panel using mostly default gauges. This is a "slippery" little aircraft, needing rather more runway to land than you might expect, so line up early and get your speed down if you don't want to have to go around. The flight dynamics were prepared with Gerry Beckwith's AirWrench, but, as is the way with many homebuilt aircraft, the figures I worked from, hence my final result, will probably vary from other published data. SECTIONF8 North-American F-86E/F 'slatted-wing' Sabre. A complete aircraft model, photoreal inside and outside, fully functional 2D panel and Dynamic VC, custom gauges and custom soundsuite, countless XML programmed goodies including droppable fuel tanks, automatic wing slats operation depending on speed and attitude, dynamic engine damage and flame-out simulation, authentic start-up procedure including fuel regulation and power cart, working guns with tracer bullets and muzzle flash effects, working ( or not working.... ) hydraulics system, parked mode with wheel chocks, fluttering RBF flags, in- and outlet covers, pilot flightgear on wing, etc., and so on.
This base package includes only two skin texture sets. Additional skin textures available with a seperate package 'sf86skns.zip', also available here. SECTIONF8 is a new FS add-on development team dedicated to produce almost every version and variant of the venerable F-86 Sabre including its seagoing sisters FJ-2, FJ-3, and FJ-4 Fury.
