| Resized Environment Map Texture |

File Description:
Replacement "Environment Map" texture (Envmap.bmp) for FS2004.
Envmap.bmp controls the reflection effect in "metallic" textures.
Texture was edited to remove the "spinning" effect, now the reflection is static.
With static reflection it is now "OK" to repaint interior textures (chrome, leather, plastic, glass etc.)
to make them more reflective, as the dizzying "spinning" effect is removed.
Texture was also repainted to make horizon reflection at more accurate height,
and its sky reflection in more vibrant color.
Now the metallic textures have blueish tint.
Texture was also resized from 256X256 to 128X128.
Smaller texture sizes improve framerate (FPS).

Airport Environment Upgrade II - These textures will significantly enhance world-wide airport scenery. The upgrade includes ramps, taxiways, runways, airport lighting, a few of the more common terminal buildings, and some hangars. Both day and night textures are included. A great deal of effort was made to reproduce colors and details as they appear in real life.
This version includes the fix for the missing ramp/ taxiway textures by including the files in .r8 format. Also included are new high-contrast airport markings, improved runway textures, better airport/ aircraft lighting, and a new pavement texture over-lay. This version includes significant improvements of the runway environment and airport lighting. Runway, taxiway, approach and center-line lighting have been brightened and enhanced. File Description:
These are the textures from the unfinished version of the Airport Environment Upgrade (AEU8) project that I abandoned in December of 2005. For best results you should use these textures along with AEU7 (aeu7.zip) because only about half of the textures were ever finished for this project. These textures have not been tested with FSX and are not expected to display properly in that version of Flight Simulator. Seasonal runways, taxiways, ramp areas, and about half of the airport building textures were completed. Reflective effects were never added to the new textures before the project was abandoned. A completely new version of AEU for FSX is planned for the future but I haven't determined when work will begin on that project.
