This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17G 42-97061 LL-B General Ike" of the 401st BS/ 91st BG based in Bassingbourne UK. One of the more well known B-17's of the 91st BG, was originally assigned to the 457th BG, but came to the 91st after only 3 days there, on the 16th March 1944. The aircraft was christened by Genral Eisenhower himself, when he visited the 91st BG on 11 April 1944. The noseart was painted by Cpl. Tony Starcer, with the lettering being done by Cpl. Elvis White. Both artists signed their work, though Cpl White's name later disappeared from the aircraft. Eisenhower liked the painting, but remarked to Cpl Starcer that his eyes were not blue-grey at all. "General Ike" survived the war and returned to Kingman Az, where she was scrapped. On its 65th mission, prop 3 started windmilling and sheared off, hitting the fuselage just below the co-pilots feet, but the only damaged was to the noseart, which was quickly repainted by Cpl Starcer. "General Ike" flew many missions as lead ship, because, as Capt John Davis said after returning from its 21st mission: "She's a mighty sweet plane, not too hot or fast, she moves steadily along. You don't want a fast aircraft for group lead."Ike" gets you over the target and brings you back again", which she did, again and again until the end of the war.

Here is a mighty PLAN fleet, capable of respectable force projection anywhere within the nine dash line and even beyond! I tried to find the Chinese Navy crest, similar to the one I used to represent my US Navy collection, but the only thing available anywhere is a depiction of the Peoples Liberation Army Navy flag.
These ships are currently assigned to the South Sea Fleet and so might be present at any of the events in the disputed South China Sea.
The LST YutingII/Type 072a Luhua Shan, pennant number 997, is the same type vessel that participated in the "near collision" with USS Cowpens recently. Now you can re-enact how a 18 knot transport was able to in any way interfere with the 32 knot Arleigh Burke class destroyer. Also in this fleet are two Houbei class missile boat catamarans, the Yuzhao class type 071 amphibious transport dock Changbai Shan, Luyang II/Lanzhou class type 052C destroyer DDG-171 Haikou and the Jiangkai II class type 054A frigate Hengshui.
All ships have landable decks, animated effects and night lights, Haikou has an animated Z-9 helicopter escort.
The ships are intended for placement with AICarriers, by Lamont Clark.

Eisenhower National Airport with two optional files made only for FSX: There is one version with the Crosswind runway 14/32 activated where all 3 runways will be used for takeoff/landing and one version as the default runway operation: The New Terminal/Concourse which opened on June 3, 2015 now included, the new terminal has one concourse with 12 gates, the old terminal demolished to make room for gates 10, 11 and 12, assigned parking as per their website with extra parking, the cargo ramp and buildings updated, taxiways and taxi signs updated to the latest charts, extra fuel trucks, support vehicle roads rebuilt and many other scenery improvements, airport views are from the roof of the control tower (when in tower view) please view the readme before installation.

Changes in Version 2 of the cenery:
1.The Carrier model is now a private object and no longer part of the standard FSX object lib..
This allows the installation and registration in FSX scenery setting to be done like any
other addon objects.
The registration of the scenery in FSX below " Global, Generic & Vehicle Libraries" is no
longer required !!!!
2.Version 2 has more stuff on deck of the carrier.
3.The Number 75 is more accurate according to the real carrier.
4.The ILS frequencies ( e.g. GS) is more accurat adjusted in relation to the cable zone.
Scenery: Carrier Group North sea. Close to the Island of Sylt The Scenery includes: - The USS Carrier Harry Truman, CVN 75 with full function as an Airport with ILS approach capability.
F18-Fighters and a Navy-Heli on the Carrier. - 2 flying Helicopters over the Carrier. - 4 Navy-Destroyers escorting the Carrier. In addition to the Carrier-Group: - A Oilrig about 30 nm northwest from the Carrier. The Heli-Pat is a landable Platform !! - 2 moving Destroyer based on a "Boats Traffic Plan" which are moving around the group according to the time schedule in the plan.

This repaint is for the FSX version 1.1 JBK Boeing 307 Stratoliner and is in dds format.
In early 1942, the USAAF impressed all five of TWA's SA-307B Stratoliners, making modifications to extend their range, using them as VIP transports under the C-75 designation. These aircraft served until 1944 in the Air Transport Command with their TWA crews. They were rebuilt that year as SA-307B-1s and returned to TWA.
Navajo (c/n 2001) was impressed as 42-88627. In Feb 1942, surveyed the Air Transport Command southern route from Washington DC to Cairo via Natal Brasil. The following month carried Generals Marshall, Eisenhower, Clark, Col. Vandenberg, Admiral Towers, Averill Harriman, and Harry Hopkins, across the North Atlantic to England on a VIP "all brass" flight. Returned to TWA in July 1944 and rebuilt as SA-307B-1 N19909.

B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2344, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #1. Flownby Pilot: Lt. Col. James Doolittle, Co-pilot: Lt. Richard Cole, Navigator: Lt. Henry Potter, Bombardier: Sgt. Fred Braemer, Engineer/Gunner: Sgt. Paul Leonard. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Texture, and Damage Files included. This work is an integration of the beautiful scenery of the "Cancun 2010" by software house Tropical sim, and the "Santo Domingo Las Americas" by Latin VFR. To do this I used .bgl files for trees, lights, buildings and more.
To insure safe operation, you must have the original sceneries and the Cancun After Shave by Angel Salazar Estrada which can be found here at AVSIM.
IMPORTANT: THE FOREST.BGL was kindly given to me for use by the software house "TAXI2GATE" which to whom does all my gratitude go. Happy Flights and greetings from Italy. See you on the caribe.
