LAN Airlines, S.A. was formerly known as LAN Chile and is based Santiago, Chile with its main hub at Arturo Merino BenÃtez International Airport (SCEL) in Santiago. It also operates hubs in Lima, Peru Buenos Aires, Argentina Miami, Florida USA and Quito and Guayaquil Ecuador. LAN Airlines comprises LAN Chile, LAN Argentina, LAN Peru, LAN Ecuador and LAN Express.
I delayed the release of this aircraft after seeing the recent release by Dave Wilkins of high-quality LAN Airlines AI Aircraft using the EvolveAI models. After downloading and installing them myself, I thought it would be a nice complement if the colors of this A320 matched the colors of David's LAN Airlines AI A320's, A319's and A318. I think the result is quite nice and hope you agree.
This full installation package includes the Project Airbus A320 IAE V2 model and air files, a modified FDE (with permission from Peter Binamira of Project Airbus), A320 lighting enhancements and 32-bit textures. Uses default 737-400 panel and sounds. Please see Install.txt for installation details.

| US Airways OC Airbus A320-214 (N124US) with Lighting Effects and Updated FDE |

I am proud to present this highly detailed repaint of US Airways A320-214, registration N124US, in their old livery. US Airways was founded in my home state of Pennsylvania by the DuPont family in 1939 as a mail courier service, and became a passenger carrier in 1949. US Airways has changed its name 4 times until taking the current name. This airframe was delivered to US Airways from Airbus in November of 2000 and is the last CFM equipped 214 model purchased by US Airways. Subsequent to this, US Airways has been purchasing the IAE equipped 231 and 232 models. US Airways operates 66 A320's, using them to provide domestic service throughout the US and international service to the Caribbean, Canada and Mexico. I paid attention to detail and realism as much as possible. I added some dirt and grime to the airframe in parts where it showed in photos of this aircraft. I also distressed the Vstab lines as this part of these aircraft from US Airways always look the worst. I think these details have added a realistic touch without being overdone. Effectively an extension of my "Airstrips of Western Europe" project for FS2004, around 140 sceneries of small airfields in Scandinavia and the Baltic states, each enhanced with buildings, taxiways, parking spaces and aprons as appropriate, to further facilitate the generation of lightweight AI traffic in the area, without overloading the more major airfields.
Given the available comprehensive coverage of both Norway and Finland by other authors, and much of Denmark by myself in my earlier "Airstrips of North-West Europe" upload, this selection comprises mostly small Swedish and Baltic State airfields.
Unfortunately, due to the very nature of much of the area, some of these airstrips are just that, a grass/dirt runway on a flattened/mown area in the landscape with just an associated building or two. Nevertheless, they do perform the required function of providing sources for AI traffic. The very existence of those airstrips not included in FS2004 is referred to in various on-line databases.
Again, there's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. These buildings have minimal effect on frame-rates, so are ideal for this kind of job. The airfields are aligned as well as possible with the roads etc. in UT Europe (where applicable) and the Genesis Europe mesh, but should mostly be fine in a default installation or other configuration.

File Description:
The coverage area begins in the western end of the Florida Keys at The Dry Tortugas, heads north to Tampa, over to Grand Bahama, south to the Cay Sal Bank and eastward to Great Inagua covering all of the Florida Keys and the entire Bahamas Island chain. The scenery also corrects island position errors overlooked by UTX-USA and UTX-TAC in the Dry Tortugas, on the Cay Sal Bank, adding the missing Cays there and also on the Bahama Bank. Lighthouse placement error corrections are also included.
For those pilots with REX Essentials + Overdrive (REX3) a section of the manual is devoted to creating a custom selection of REX3 textures. by Wally-Bob

The mesh for FSX SP1 Hely Heck Junior and Jose Lobo - madmshfx.zip - is necessary.
This scene was designed for FSX (Sp1) by default, it has not been tested with FS9
Airport (FMCZ) present in the scene is served by Air Austral, Air Madagascar, Comoros Aviation Mauricius Air, Kenya Airways, African Express Airways and Air Comores International.
