Lockheed L-749A Constellation KLM 1950-1955 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
KLM was a major European operator of various models of the Lockheed Constellation and Super Constellation. Out of 48 Connies and Super Connies, 11 were L-749 (8 of them later converted to L-749A) and 9 were L-749A Constellations. The first L-749 entered service with KLM in August 1947, and for some 13 years this and the other L-749(A) Connies served on various medium- and long-haul routes. By the end of the 1950's the career of KLM's (Super) Constellation started to come to an end with the arrival of the Douglas DC-7C and, introducing the airlines' jet-age, the DC-8. Featured are KLM's PH-TDB 'Walcheren' (1950 livery), PH-TET 'Tilburg' (1951 livery), PH-TDN 'Vlaardingen' (1952 livery) and PH-LDP 'Rotterdam' (1955 livery), both without and with "Speedpak" cargo pod. These are textures only. You will require Team 749's (Manfred Jahn & Co) Lockheed L-749 Constellation package (lockheed749.zip). Also required Team 749's Lockheed L-749 Constellation models update (749_models_update.zip). Repaints (based on Manfred Jahn's textures) by Maarten Brouwer.

Howick Airfield (FAHC), South Africa Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This package will add a custom (Gmax) made Howick Airfield (FAHC), KwaZulu Natal, South Africa with photoreal textures and seasonal ground textures. Howick is a small town in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands just off the N3 freeway which connects Johannesburg and Durban and home to the famous Howick waterfall. The Umgeni river falls 95m (311 ft) over the cliffs on the way to the Indian Ocean. The town is also home to the Midmar dam. This dam is very well known as being the location of the annual Midmar Mile swimming event which, in 2009, was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest open water swimming event with 13 755 competitors taking part. The sloped grass runway is aligned 16/34 and 825m long and sits at an elevation of 3 615ft. Both runways have obstacles on the approach, with powerlines 730m from the threshold of runway 16, while runway 34's approach have hills around 900m before the threshold. The sloped runway has been created in FS2004 within the limits of the simulator itself.

McKenzie Airfield, Richmond, South Africa Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Have you ever visited the "Hangar Cafe"? Great place to have a meal and get lost in conversation with fellow aviators and aviation lovers. McKenzie Airfield does not appear in the default FS2004, neither is the town of Richmond included. This package will add a custom (Gmax) made McKenzie Airfield (AWK5), Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa with photoreal textures and ground textures. The included Landclass file will also add the town. The small airfield as well as the adjacent McKenzie Plant-hire yard, has been recreated with custom true to life models and photoreal textures. McKenzie airfield is also home to the "Hangar Cafe" and an ex-SAAF Bosbok. The runway is not too challenging, just keep the aircraft in the middle and away from the trees right next to the runway. All the electrical high-wires have also been included in the scenery as it plays a prominent role in the look and feel of the airfield as has the flower beds. The grass runway is aligned 11/29 and only 800m long.

VASP 1998 AI Package Download

File Description:
VASP was the 2nd largest airline in Brazil, but was scaling down by 1998. VASP still had a great international network stretching to ATH/KIX/ICN/LAX/YYZ/JFK/BCN/ZRH ect. A fleet of 10 MD-11s did all the long haul flying, as well as plenty of domestic flights. 3 A300s and a large 737-200/300 fleet served the domestic routes. While VARIG was based in GIG, VASP was based in GRU and the planes tend to hang out there. There was only 1 special livery, which was a named MD-11, so not much variation unlike VARIG. VASP did serve SDU and CGH with mainline equipment, however, so these plans will help populate those airports. Included are repaints by Raphael Rodrigues for the FAIB 737-200, 737-300, FSPX MD-11, and TFS A300B4. Flightplans by Chasen Richardson. Part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. Hawaiian Airports Part 2 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Hawaiian Airports Part 2 This scenery features the airports at PHJR John Rodgers Field, PHBK Barking Sands, NPS Ford Island and PHNG Kaneohe Bay. All runways, aprons, taxiways and buildings have been repositioned to their correct locations, and include custom textures based on photographs of the real airports. The scenery features many animated objects including people, aircraft, animals, waves, cars, trucks and many more. Full night textures with light maps are included. All the scenery files have been sub-divided so they can be switched on or off according to user preference. It has been designed for, and tested in DX9 and FSXA only. The airports include sloped flattens so they can also be used with high density mesh. These airports have long runways and can easily cater for the 'heavies', PHJR now acts as a backup to the main airort at PHNL Honolulu. Runway 04 at PHNG is a real challenge, and requires a 90 degree turn under the mountains. Please enjoy, and I hope you like my scenery as much as I enjoyed building it.

Lanseria International Airport (FALA), Johannesburg, South Africa Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Lanseria international airport is Johannesburg's second international airport and mostly cater to private jets, low cost airlines and many private general aviation and flightschool aircraft. It is a privately owned airport and can accomodate aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 757-300. This airport has seen John Travolta use it with his Boeing 707, the Hilton family with a private Boeing 757 and even the USAF have landed their C-17 Globemasters at the airport when Air Force one came here in the past with the latter landing at AFB Waterkloof. This package started out as a conversion of the wonderfull FSX scenery of the airport by Lee Hall and converted with permission from the original author. It quickly expanded however to a project that now additionally includes photoreal ground textures that changes with seasons, many added fences and gates around the airport, inclusion of the shaded parking areas with parked cars, static airplanes (RWY12 and EZ scenery libraries needed to see this) as well as numerous objects around the airport and apron made by myself in Gmax to give the airport some FS9 life. Also included is the wonderfull "apron light splashes" by Hans Günther Schnell who kindly gave me permission to use it for the night times. I have also included a local mesh for the area for users of FSGlobal 2010 to eliminate the extreme elevation anomoly around the airport.

LJSceneGen V 1.0 Download

File Description:

LJSceneGen is a scenery creation utility for the Microsoft (MS) Flight Simulator FS9 (aka FS2004 or Century of Flight). The program presents a series of forms where various options for VORs, NDBs, Exclusion Rectangles, Markers, Waypoints and Scenery Library objects can be entered. The program will try to connect FS9 via FSUIPC or WideFS. If a FSUIPC connection is found, the location (Lat. Long. and Alt and others if available and appropriate) will be automatically retrieved. You can also move the aircraft to a new location by entering a Lat. and Long. pair and clicking "Move Aircraft".

Multiple combinations VORs, NDBs, Exclusion Rectangles, Markers, Waypoints and Scenery Library objects can be saved and each saved object can be edited. After all the desired objects are created, an XML file can be created. This file can be submitted to the FS2004 SDK BGL compiler "BGLCOMP.exe". A file with an extension of .BGL will result which you then place in your Addon Scenery/scenery/ folder to view your just created scenery object(s) after you restart FS9. This or other properly formulated .XML scenery files can be imported and reviewed. For example, the FS9 file NVNAMC0.bgl can be decompiled, imported into LJSceneGen and then viewed. Alessandro Antonini's excellent BGLXMLdecompiler program makes possible the conversion from NVNAMC0.bgl. to NVNAMC0.xml which can then be read by LJSceneGen. (This file is available at Alec's site: http://www.cpinf.net ). Each VOR and NDB found in this decompiled xml file can be reviewed and if you want, you can move your aircraft to the object's location by clicking "Move Aircraft".

This program is written in MS's C# language using .NET framework 1.1. The CLR .NET Framework 1.1 must be installed on your computer before the program will run. The freeware version of Pete Dowson's FSUIPC is not supported. Users should be very familar with the FS2004 scenery SDK. This version only knows VORs, NDBs, Exclusion Rectangles, Markers, Waypoints, and Scenery Library objects. It doesn't yet know about Airports Runways ILSes etc. This is not a "What You See Is What You Get" program but instead takes a semi-automated fill-in-the-blanks approach. The program is a scenery creation utility. As such, inexperienced scenery designers may not find it user friendly.

Kotzebue PAOT on the northwestern coast of Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
There are four main northwestern Alaska towns which have good airports and are serviced by Alaska Airlines. From these airports local flights connect to nearby villages, "nearby" in Alaska meaning up to 150 miles away. The northernmost is Barrow. Southwest of Barrow is Kotzebue, then Nome, and the furthest south is Bethel. The town of Kotzbue is north of the Bering Strait on the northwestern coast, 320 miles southwest of Barrow. The population is just over 3,000 people. The location was for a long time a base for trading in furs, with three rivers emptying into the sea and providing routes into the interior land and villages; a meeting place between hunters and traders from Russia and elsewhere. The Kotzebue airport is called the Ralph Wien Memorial and has two runways. The modern one is aligned 08-26 and is 5,880 feet of 150 feet wide asphalt built across a shallow lagoon, with an ILS on 08 and PAPI on both ends. The second and older runway is originally military and gravel, aligned 17-35 and 3,786 feet long and used (wind allowing) by the GA planes that park alongside the runway. The prevalent wind is from the west; when the wind is from the east it is generally relatively feeble and with a much lower cloud base, possibly to the ground, hence the need for an ILS. All AI aircraft in FS9 much prefer to use a runway that has an ILS and so will continue to use 08-26 even if the wind is from the south until it reaches 30+ knots, even if they are a Cessna 150 flying VFR. So for AI realism in FS9 a northern or southern wind needs to be a strong one so that the runway is actually used. However, as Alaska Airlines, Northern Air Cargo, and Everts Air also fly to Kotzebue and can only use the east-west runway (as less than 4,000 feet of asphalt would be seriously inconvenient for a Boing 737 or DC6) it is necessary to have the northern or southern wind UNDER 30 knots at the times when they are landing or taking off. Your choice. I suppose a permanent strong wind from the west would be the most realistic on a daily basis, deterring all planes from ever using 17-35. The AI will develop along with further scenery additions in the neighbourhood.
